Mid Cape Memories
A Week to Relax and Enjoy - by Sandra M.
July 2014 - It was a long drive to the Cape, but worth every minute of it! We were waiting for a relaxing vacation spot and we found it. Our rental was lovely, with a beautiful yard and located on a quiet street. Our Scottish Terriers made themselves right at home and were quite comfortable there just as we were. Only a short walk to the beach and the harbor was close by, plus a ten minute drive to Hyannis where you can find shopping and restaurants galore. We had a wonderful time. Mid Cape is beautiful and will continue to be our vacation destination for a long time.
Sissy and Caieigh, our Scottish Terriers, were quite taken in by the lovely home and yard. They couldn't wait to get out of their stroller and snoop around.
This was the lovely view from the kitchen door. Such a relaxing way to start your day.
Caileigh's first taste of sand under her paws. I believe she was deciding on which house to buy!
The private beach was a short walk from the house. The view was spectacular plus the beach is dog friendly.
Sandy Neck Light could be seen from the beach. I love light houses so this was a bonus.
Just a short trip from Barnstable to Hyannis Harbor and I get to see another one! Just beautiful.
Our evenings at the Cape were cool and clear. There would be a full moon before we leave.
The girls were hoping to catch a glimpse of the moon, but evenings for them were usually spent indoors.
No trip to the Cape is complete unless you feast on a two pound baked stuffed lobster. Yummy!
Barnstable Harbor was foggy and quiet the morning left for home.
Looking back on our trip, it was so difficult to leave such a beautiful place, but we know we'll be back. Until then, we have memories of Mid Cape.
