Calendar Import/Export

Summary

The calendar import/export feature enables you to sync and move booked dates from one calendar to another. You can import a calendar into your WeNeedaVacation calendar from a booking platform (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.), your own private calendar, or a realtor calendar. You can also do the opposite and export your WeNeedaVacation calendar to other calendars. You can subscribe to the calendar for automatic updates. This feature will use your calendar of reference (the one you update manually) to push new bookings and canceled booking updates to the other calendar.

This calendar sync is not a method to set up a new listing’s calendar in WeNeedaVacation. To do that, you will need to login to the Homeowner Center, open the calendar, and add pricing for all available weeks. You will also need to manually update your pricing.

Import a Calendar into WeNeedaVacation

  • Copy the .ics link for the calendar from the other booking platform.
  • Click Import at the top of the WeNeedaVacation calendar page.

  • Click on View Subscriptions on the Calendars page.

  • Can I import more than one calendar to WeNeedaVacation?

    No, at this time we have the ability to import only one calendar.

  • Can I export my WeNeedaVacation calendar to multiple platforms?

    Yes, you can export your WeNeedaVacation calendar to as many other booking platforms as you want.

  • What is updated during a calendar sync?

    New bookings and cancelations are updated, but not pricing.

  • How often is the calendar updated with new information?

    When you subscribe, the calendar is updated twice a day.

  • How can I unsubscribe to an imported calendar?

    Go to Homeowner Center, Import/Export and select View Subscriptions and delete the subscription that you don’t want.

  • Where can I view my calendar subscriptions (if I manage multiple property listings)?

    Go to Homeowner Center, Import/Export and select View Subscriptions.

  • Can I import a calendar from VRBO or Airbnb to WeNeedaVacation if I am not using Booking Management to manage my bookings?

    No. You can only export the WNAV calendar to VRBO or Airbnb if you are utilizing Booking Management.

  • Why do I get a message from Booking Management when I do a calendar import?

    If your import is attempting to open a week that is marked as booked in Booking Management, you will get an error message until you go into Booking Management and cancel that booking.

  • Will the calendar sync automatically update weekly and nightly pricing?

    No, the calendar sync does not import pricing. It is important to update your weekly and nightly pricing after you import a calendar.

  • Why does my pricing say $0 for some weeks, and do I need to fix this?

    If your import opened up new dates on your WeNeedaVacation calendar, they will be marked at $0 per week until you add the prices per night/week/month.

  • I imported a calendar, but it didn’t open the dates up far enough into the future.

    If you want your dates to be opened further into the future, you need to go into the WeNeedaVacation calendar and manually open the available weeks and add pricing.

  • Why does my Airbnb calendar only export one year’s worth of reservation data?

    Airbnb exports only a year’s worth of data.

  • How do I block off the summer in Airbnb and only book my summer weeks through WeNeedaVacation?

    • Block off the weeks on the Airbnb calendar.
    • Export the WeNeedaVacation calendar to Airbnb. This will push over any off-season dates that you book in WeNeedaVacation.
    • Any off-season dates that are booked through Airbnb will need to be manually blocked in the WeNeedaVacation calendar.

  • My WeNeedaVacation listing was inactive. Do I need to redo the import or export subscription once my WeNeedaVacation listing is live again?

    No, the calendar imports and exports will continue until you remove them.

  • How do I stop an imported calendar subscription?

    • Go to the View Subscriptions.
    • Delete the calendar url.
    • Unclick Subscribe.
    • Click Save.
