Our Story

In 1997, Joan and Jeff Talmadge created WeNeedaVacation to provide an innovative means of matching vacationers and homeowners more efficiently and inexpensively than ever before. Starting with just 100 listings, WeNeedaVacation now lists more than 4,000 listings on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket.

Our attractive, user-friendly website enables prospective renters to quickly view vacation properties that meet their criteria, including location, size, price, amenities, and dates. Vacationers can save their vacation requirements and search results, returning time after time to continue their search. They can also record notes about rentals, rate them, and share favorites with family and friends. The website offers visitors a wealth of information in the Vacation Planner about local activities and events, restaurants, shops, and other businesses, as well as local beaches and points of interest.
