The Press is Our (and Your!) Friend

Elizabeth Weedon | Updated 2/8/2022
InTheNewsThere isn’t a more valuable marketing opportunity for a business than receiving positive exposure in the press – and, fortunately, our website has received quite a bit lately. The more often we are mentioned in newspapers and online publications as well as radio and TV, the more vacationers are attracted to our site to find and book your vacation homes! One of the many strategies we employ to attract the attention of the press is to periodically publish press releases containing statistics on the current vacation rental season on the Cape and Islands. With around 4,000 homes listed on our site, we are in a unique position to track information such as how bookings are going versus the previous years, how homeowners are pricing their homes, which regions or size homes are faring better than others, etc. And we often provide some insights about factors that may explain or contribute to some of our findings. (See our recent press releases.) So far this year, we have been quoted in the Boston Globe, the Boston Herald, the Boston Business Journal, Wicked Local Cape Cod, the Hartford Courant, and the Cape Cod Times. And co-owner of WeNeedaVacation.com, Jeff Talmadge, was interviewed a couple of times on the radio including WFTK 95.1FM in Hyannis/Yarmouth Port and the Cape’s 99.9 The Q. Over the 17+ years we’ve been in business, most of the major local media companies have learned to contact us for professional, reliable, and insightful information about the Cape and Islands vacation rental industry – and we’re more than happy to oblige! Did you see, read, or hear us mentioned in the press? If so, what did you think?
About Elizabeth Weedon

About Elizabeth Weedon: I worked for WeNeedaVacation from 2008 until I retired in 2023. I was also one of the first vacation rental owners on the site in early 1998, when I managed my family’s Vineyard rental home. An enthusiastic member of the support staff, I provided fellow Cape and Islands vacation rental owners with advice about online marketing and rental management techniques. I created and edited much of the content on the website, as well as blogs posts and monthly newsletters. I now live on Martha’s Vineyard full time with my family.
