About Hyannis Federated Church Christmas Commons...The Federated Church of Hyannis will hold its festive annual Christmas fair, Christmas Commons, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, as part of the Hyannis Village Christmas Stroll. Admission is free.
The church’s Fellowship Hall will be brimming with lovingly made gifts and goodies available for purchase. Offerings will include fresh, decorated pine wreaths; handcrafted holiday decorations; hand-knit articles; themed gift baskets; jewelry; gently used books and toys; and more. The “Country Kitchen” table will be selling home-baked pies, breads, cakes and cookies as well as baked beans (made from Durgin-Park Restaurant’s original recipe), cheddar cheese, preserves, pickles and other treats. There will also be a silent auction, including merchandise and services donated by Hyannis businesses.
In addition, the Coffee Nook will be in operation from 9 to 11 a.m. for shoppers who’d welcome a morning break. The church’s famous Lobster Roll Luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring lobster rolls, chips, pickles, a homemade dessert and beverage for $15. Clam chowder ($4), sold separately, comes with crackers. Hotdogs will also be available Coffee or soda may be purchased for $1.
In conjunction with the fair, the church’s Friendly Thrift Shop will have extended hours on Dec. 1, also remaining open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
