WCAI's Mindy Todd and I will talk about the process of writing a book, in the context of my upcoming Houghton Mifflin title, The Jazzmen: How Duke Ellington, Satchmo Armstrong and Count Basie Transformed America. The intent is to have a safe community-wide coming-out party at Lowell Park where the Ketteleers play, to offer tips to would-be authors and a behind-the-scenes look for avid readers, and to raise money for the library.

It's on Thursday, September 19, at 5. Before the talk and after, there'll be great music from the band Cape Jazz. And people are encouraged to bring picnic dinners.
