About Art Cottages at the Orleans Market Square...Recognizing that the arts improve the quality of life for residents, contribute to the economic vitality of communities, and have the power to build healthier, more livable, more vital communities, Orleans resident Todd Thayer has established The Artist Cottages at Orleans Market Square. The Artist Cottages contribute to the vision of Orleans as a Cultural Campus, and the Village Center as a Cultural District.



The overarching goal is to enhance and enrich the quality of life for residents and visitors by coordinating and supporting activities promoting arts and culture at the property referred to as Orleans Market Square.



This area is located in the Orleans Village Center and is bounded by Rt. 6A, Main Street, Old Colony Way (across from Depot Square) and the Orleans Marketplace - - the specific focus for the Cottages is the area between the Farmer's Market and the perimeter of the parking lot serving CVS and the Hot Chocolate Sparrow.



The Artist Cottages nurture and celebrate the creativity and talent of established and emerging Cape Cod artists and artisans, by providing a unique, affordable location to create and sell their work. Further, the Cottages offer the Town, residents and visitors alike, a fun and interesting destination.
