Thousands of visitors a year flock to this beach for its calm, clear waters, kid-friendly tidepools, and pristine, powdery sand. This beach is a hit with families, as there’s plenty to do—building sandcastles, catching crabs, swimming, and floating on rafts. This beautiful beach, located off Dunes Road, is a must stop on your next trip to the Mid-Cape.

Among the arts and entertainment options in Dennis is the Cape Cinema, specializing in independent American and international films, and the Cape Playhouse, a professional summer theater that many a famous actor has visited. One of our favorites is the Cape Cod Museum of Art — a great spot for the entire family. Located on Hope Lane, this museum provides visitors with an opportunity to take in local art from Thursday through Sunday. All of the art pieces featured are either inspired by or created locally. The large museum is home to seven galleries, a film screening room, and a museum shop. With an assortment of rotating exhibits, you’re sure to learn something new every visit!
The Dennis Public Market has been serving both locals and visitors for over a hundred years! Located at the heart of Dennis Village, the market offers a large selection of local fish, quality meats, traditional groceries, wines, beer, and more. Also available are cooked meals and sandwichesfor those who don’t want to cook! You’ll definitely find everything you need to make a great meal to enjoy on your deck in the summer sun.
Dennis Playgrounds
Even after a day at the beach, you kids may still be filled with energy. Dennis is home to over ten playgrounds with varying attractions for families. Looking for the perfect bite to eat after a day at the beach? Captain Frosty’s, located just up the road from Mayflower Beach, is a fan favorite.
