Welcome to Sea Castle! We care about YOU and your vacation and look forward to helping you plan your time on Nantucket! We welcome many of the same families year after year, and take pride in personally helping you plan the best time possible!
Overlooking the romantic moors of the south shore of Nantucket Island, ideally located between town and the fishing village of Sconset, you can hear the waves crashing in the distance. Situated on a quiet beach road, just five miles from the bustling Nantucket town, we offer privacy and solace in an intimate seaside neighborhood. Conveniently located minutes from one the most beautiful, pristine and secluded beaches on Nantucket. This house is not a generic rental home, and the owners are constantly remodeling and upgrading to give their guests the best vacation experience possible at this very special island retreat. We believe that hospitality and homes go hand in hand; when you stay at Sea Castle, no minor detail is overlooked.
This 2000 square foot classic shingled beach house offers windows galore that make you feel as if you are outside all year long. Far enough from the crowds in Nantucket, yet closer to the supermarket and other services than most other outlying areas on the island. Bike paths will take you either to the picturesque village of Sconset or to the more than 80 miles of Nantucket beaches. The Tom Nevers area of the island features natural foliage, a surrounding ring of conservation land, expansive views and miles of secluded beaches. Upside down houses with sizable yards and spacious decks are scattered throughout this wide expanse, home to a mix of year-round and summer residents. Despite its density, Tom Nevers has a rural atmosphere. You might hear a rooster crow and many bird species enjoy this natural habitat. At the end of Tom Nevers Road, there is a playground on the former Navy base. Tom Nevers and its road along the bluff are close to the beautiful beach and approximately ten minutes from mid-island shopping. The higher elevation and gentle rises offer cooler breezes than the rest of the island.
Tom Nevers/Madequesham beaches are only 1.8 miles from home and offers some of the best surfing and fishing on the island, (without the summer crowds). Other popular beaches can be reached via the shuttle bus that stops just down the street at the intersection of Tom Nevers and Milestone Roads. We are one mile away from two of the best golf courses in the world. The town is an easy twenty minute bike ride or ten minute bus ride away.
Take your four-wheel drive out to secluded Great Point to fish and see the sunrise! Enjoy numerous shops and restaurants, museums, library, art galleries, live theater and entertainment. Try a historic stroll or even a ghost walk at night! At the wharves you can sign up for fishing trips or join available bus, taxi or walking tours of the island.
If you like quiet enjoyment of nature, relax on our upstairs deck overlooking the moors, grill out some fresh fish gazing at the ocean or try star-gazing from our telescope at night! Fogged in? Our house offers so many games and activities for your entire family to enjoy! Have an amazing vacation at Sea Castle.
