I have rented this house 3 times to host small retreats on Nantucket. This property has so much that I want our guests to experience on this island! It has views of the ocean and you can hear the waves from the house. It is easily accessible and close to public transportation, yet feels secluded and quiet. The walk through the dunes to the beach makes for wonderful meditation walks. The house is cozy, clean and spacious yet modest and "beach-y" feeling. There is an outdoor shower to get the sand off, which our guests just love! The kitchen is well equipped and we had no problem cooking meals for our groups. There are also outdoor chairs and tables to enjoy dining outside. Surfside's concession stand and food truck are a short walk away. There is a great bike path so close, and Nantucket's bus system has a stop within easy walking distance. I would highly recommend this property to you and your friends. show more show less

Point of Breakers is really an ideal spot on Nantucket. Being at the end of Western Ave with a view to the beautiful marshes and dunes free of the McMansions that have proliferated on Nantucket in recent years makes this really the prime location on the island. Our family has been coming back again and again for years, and frankly we would not consider a different spot. The walk over the dunes is just as spectacular as the beach and ocean that the path leads to. The network of bike paths leads virtually to the door of the house. The house itself is perfect - all the amenities, not ostentatious but fitting in with the landscape. Nantucket is a unique and spectacular natural environment. This house and its location allow one to live in and witness that environment incredibly comfortably, and still close to the human development and the conveniences that they offer. My husband and I had the chance to come to Nantucket for the first time together, both having come separately as kids, and this cottage was perfect for my birthday treat! It's close enough to the public beach and the town bus...or even a cab ride... so you feel plenty connected to the hustle and bustle of town. Not missing a thing! But because the house is at the very end the ave...you also have the feeling of a very private getaway. It was early in the season, and we had the beach to ourselves but coming back later last year...it was still uncrowded and only a 5 minute walk right down the path. Our friends with 2 kids loved that with 5 more minutes, they could walk to the beach with lifeguards. Sunsets are amazing. Stars galore! I liked that it was close to the bike path and that there are some little walking trails around. The house is very clean and comfortable....classic outdoor shower. Nice and easy to keep clean during the week...easy to sweep sand up (no carpet). Saw a seal! We will definitely rent here again. Be fun to come with 2 or 3 couples and kids. show more show less

We had a wonderful stay at this Western Avenue rental. We had friends over to a spacious dining area and beautiful kitchen. Surfside Beach is a walk down a sand dune path. You can hear the ocean and easily get into town on the nearby bike path. It is far enough away from the busyness, but not too far that you can't participate if you want to.

The house is well built with many comfortable beds and all the amenities you could possibly need (and an outdoor shower, my favorite!) Weeweeder Pond is in just beyond the backyard. We enjoyed watching a pair of marsh hawks during our stay. We can't wait to return! show more show less

This is heaven on earth. It is quiet and peaceful, away from the crowds, yet close enough if you want action. Ocean breezes and the sound of the surf lull you to sleep after the spectacular sunset. Lots of room for the kids and all the amenities you need for a vacation. Birds galore...and little bunnies nibbling the grass. A place to come back to year after year after year! Thank you.
