We bought this home as a place to enjoy and create family memories and use it as our own throughout the year, hosting many holidays, friends and it is a place of tranquility and joy for us. It has been amazing to see our kids grow up coming here and we deeply love the island's many hikes (check out the TrailsMV app for a map), the small town local feel (check out the MVY Radio to stay on top of local happenings), the inclusive and diverse communities across the island, the art, restaurants, MV Museum, the beaches and seeing the enjoyment of those who come to visit.
I've been a small time landlord for multiple decades and, although we're new to WeNeedAVacation in 2025, I've been a short term rental host since 2016 and take great care to properly maintain our places, be responsive, and listen thoughtfully to feedback.
What is special about this property?
We bought the 1910 farmhouse on Lamberts Cove Road in 2018 and thoughtfully renovated all three bathrooms, the kitchen, upgraded electrical, plumbing, windows and added plenty of books, games, beach supplies, and more to make your stay easy and relaxing. We provide linens, towels, beach towels, beach chairs and a fully stocked kitchen with all the basics so that you can spend your time enjoying your time rather than running errands.
The front porch overlooking Seth's Pond is an idyllic place for your morning coffee and the 2 acre yard gives you plenty of room to run around or just enjoy the trees and surrounding nature. Easy access to Lamberts Cove Beach (0.6 mi), Ice House Pond (Old House Pond), Seth's Pond (across the street), hiking tails and the restaurant at Lamberts Cove Inn (0.9 mi). In a rural feeling area, but just 1.2 miles to Up Island Cronig's Market and local shops/pharmacy in West Tisbury and 5 minutes to State Road Restaurant.
What is special about your town?
West Tisbury is the perfect blend of ''up island'' and ''down island'' and is a bit of a mid-point which makes all the island has to offer accessible, yet enables us to access popular areas of the island and then have a place to retreat to at the end of the day. West Tisbury has Lamberts Cove Beach, several great swimming ponds, Polly Hill Arboretum, Long Point Wildlife Refuge, Cedar Tree Neck Sanctuary, Art (Field Gallery, MV Glassworks, Granary Gallery), The Agricultural Hall (hosts the Ag Fair since 1858, Farmers Markets since 1974), Shops (Alley's General Store, North Tisbury Farm, Chilmark Pottery, Ghost Island Farm), Restaurants (7a foods, State Road, Scottish Bakehouse, the restaurant at Lamberts Cove Inn), a lovely town library, the Grange Hall (hosts artists festivals and more).
