Description

Description

Some of the summer weeks will require a 7-night minimum stay. Inquire about the weeks.

This lovely contemporary is the perfect spot for your world-class vacation! Lovely furnishings, spacious, clean and comfortable. It has all the appointments you could want: a very private outdoor shower by Walpole; a fully applianced kitchen; and a natural surrounding that will send you home refreshed with enough memories to last a lifetime.

Some of the summer weeks will require a 7 night minimum stay.

The house and the private guest house are sited on 1 1/2 acres, both with yards to accommodate outdoor activities.

The interior of the house has two first floor bedrooms and one full bath. One bedroom has 2 twin bedrooms; the other has one queen size bed. The second floor has a huge master suite with king size bed and private bath.

West Tisbury is centrally located to the different island towns, the airport and other island beaches. The house is on a paved road that provides easy access to the bike path. Though the island transport system is outstanding, a car is recommended for your stay at Comoneetop, as it is about a 10 minute walk to the bus stop. Sorry, no ferry or auto reservations available. Prefer full week rental stay in August.

Labor Day, Memorial Day, and other holiday weekends have a 3-night minimum stay.

This 3 bedroom home was a great fit for our family. The house was immaculate, including a spacious family/living room and upstairs master bedroom both with ceiling fans. A/C worked well when needed. The open floor plan made it convenient to cook in the kitchen while also talking with guests in the family room. Washer/dryer worked perfectly and clothes line available as an option too.

Gail allowed us some flexibility on our arrival time which gave us time for a beach trip on our first day! She was also helpful prior to our visit by sending us info on local events and road closures.

The property is on a quiet street with no thru traffic. There are some airplanes that can be heard overhead during the day, but none at night or early in the morning. The bike path is less than a mile from the house. Location is conducive driving to our favorite beach on the island, South Beach, without going through major traffic areas.

Hope to return next summer and again stay at this property!

Martha's Vineyard has been my ''home away from home'' for almost 30 years. I find I respond instantly to the first few minutes on the ferry and look forward to the trip, as much as the time I spend on the Island.
I have been renting my house for all these years and thoroughly enjoy serving my guests from the different states and countries as their hostess and guide. I believe my personal service is the reason why I have many returning guests over the years who have now become lasting friends, as well.
Whether you are a returning guest or new to the island and/or my property, I focus on assisting you both in planning your vacation and assisting you during your stay. Most times I am on island and there to welcome you and acclimate you to 16 Spruce Avenue.

What is special about this property?
Location! Location! Location! is actually the greatest asset. You can open your front door and walk to the ferry, the library, the village, or the beach. In addition, the bus stop is at the bottom of the street, so you are able to go all over the island without a vehicle.
A few years ago I had the kitchen renovated with new cabinets, counter, flooring and appliances. I found that many of my ''budget-conscious'' visitors were cooking at home more.
This ''cottage'' is a Victorian that has some features unique to that era. Bathrooms are small but you have plenty of room in the kitchen, dining room and living room- where the action takes place.
Of course, a visit to Martha's Vineyard would not be complete without the outside shower at the cottage! Many guests never use the shower or tub in the bathrooms as the outdoor shower is often the highlight of their visit! The shower has a section for changing and hot and cold water so it is perfect for after the beach and as well as bathing outdoors in the open air, with the clouds and sky overhead.
The best feature of the house is the wrap-around porch! That is where most guests spend their time. The day starts with the morning coffee on the swing or rocking chairs; this is followed by an afternoon respite from the beach, shopping or biking; and then the end of the day brings about a sharing among family and friends as they retrace the day that was just ending and make plans for the next day!

What is special about your town?
Oak Bluffs is centrally located between Vineyard Haven and Edgartown. The cottage is just a short walk to Sunset Lake, where you can sit and watch the ships in the harbor from a comfortable bench in the park. The park also invites game playing for more energetic adults and children! The library is just around the corner so you can stop and pick up a few books to read on the beach!
Oak Bluffs is a great family town! There is an amusement/game center, pizza and seafood stands, great shops and, of course, that long stretch of beach, with the bike path, that goes for miles! The beaches are free, the parking is free, and you can choose to go kayaking, wind surfing, shelling or swimming right down the road. Many guests bike into Edgartown, look at the sea captain houses and take a quick ferry ride on the ''On Time'' to Chappy.
A FAVORITE walk of mine is past the East Chop Beach Club and Jetty Beach and up the hill to the East Chop Lighthouse. The view is spectacular, both on the way to the lighthouse and the view from the lighthouse itself. Take a bottle of water and your sunglasses!
Jetty Beach is the closest beach to our cottage and my favorite. You get to share the beach with the East Chop Beach Club and swim while the ferries (the Martha's Vineyard Ferry and the Katama Ferry) enter and leave the port. Make sure to have your camera!
