"We had a wonderful 2-week vacation at this home and can't wait to go back! The home was very clean and roomy with a wonderful, fully-equipped kitchen. The best part was the large deck overlooking a beautiful pond and a pasture of grazing horses. The yard was spacious, allowing ample room for our kids' frisbee golf and football games. The location is perfect - easy to get into Edgartown and Oak Bluffs but also convenient to some of the lesser traveled parts like Chilmark and Menemsha. The house is very close to the bike path and we did the 10 mile loop frequently. The homeowners were very welcoming - we didn't see the usual list of "do nots" in the rules. Rather, the owners encouraged us to use their bikes, board games, kayaks and hammock. Overall, our vacation was a huge success thanks to this property. Thanks to the owners!" show more show less

"The property was much better than described in the listing. A beautiful setting and the meadow in the backyard with the view of the horse pasture was tremendous!! The kids loved going out to visit the horses and feeding them in the early afternoon. The house was very clean, well maintained and was a wonderful and relaxing place to spend our week in MV. We really enjoyed the picturesque view of the meadow in the early am, the sunsets and the private community setting. We also enjoyed the tennis courts. We liked the central location on the island. It was close to the beaches, shopping, etc. The house was cozy for one family but roomy enough to accommodate two familes. We are already considering returning to rent this home next year. This is a terrific place to relax and enjoy MV! The homeowner was TREMENDOUS by providing a significant amount of information prior to our visit, plenty of board games in the home to occupy the kids and access to kayaks, bikes, etc. We were able to leave the bikes and kayaks home and enjoy the use of the homeowner provided items." show more show less

Guest review from Manon on 1/25/2010 for a stay in August 2009. "This is a fantastic rental property. Although we were thoroughly impressed with the description of the property in the listing, we were even more impressed when we arrived. The house is clean, spacious and beautiful, and the setting is idyllic; we looked forward each morning to watching horses graze at the pond in the back yard. The property was fully equipped with everything we could have needed for our vacation (plenty of boogie boards, sports equipment, board games, etc.) and the kitchen was fully stocked with every essential for cooking. My family especially enjoyed the back deck where we could relax and eat, and the side yard where we played our nightly wiffleball games. The location was ideal; we were less than a ten minute ride from all three of the main towns on the island, and just a few minutes to the beach. We look forward to renting this property for many summers to come." show more show less

What is special about this property?
Welcome to our vacation home. This house was built over 30 years ago, the first one in the development. Pictures of its construction are in the desk drawer in the main entryway.

We love the home, its environs, the grazing horses and, of course, the sunsets. Enjoy the morning
sun with a cup of coffee on the front porch. We have left the house for you just the way we use it. Please use and care for it as if it were yours, too.

What is special about your town?
The property location, situated on the 25 acre horse field in the crook of the pond creates spectacular rear deck daytime, evening and sunset views. The prevailing breeze blows off the pond, bringing with it cooling temperatures on bright sunny days.

A quarter circle short walk around the horse field and ten minute stroll through the woods, brings you to the Association Kayak storage area. With a 150 yards walk you are at the boat dock to launch one of our kayaks into Deep Bottom Pond and access to the West Tisbury Great Pond and a southern exposure barrier beach. Bring along a chair, book, small cooler, boogie board, crab net and hat you are set for the day on the beach. Whether it's soaking in the sun, riding the waves or netting crabs for dinner it is all yours for the taking. Catch the incoming tide back for an easy paddle home, shower outdoors in the cool air, enjoy a glass of wine, some great seafood and rest well for tomorrow is another day.
