This is your daily vacation routine. PRIME AUGUST WEEK Available 8/2-8/9 or 8/16-8/22. Saturday to Saturday and includes ferry reservation for your vehicle. Will consider a smallish dog, with additional deposit.

Peaceful, waterfront down-island setting for this 3-bedroom Beach House, tucked away from the crowds, yet convenient to Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. En-suite primary bedroom with jetted tub on the upper level and 2 bedrooms on main level that share the newly remodeled bath! Comfortable home has a classic vineyard finish, tall ceilings, a gourmet ''cooks kitchen'' with Wolf appliances, 2 living rooms and a dining room.... all with tons of natural light. For you music lovers, there is a Bluetooth turntable and access to hundreds of vinyl recordings.

Also, enjoy kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding (all provided) and on site swimming (so fun to jump in the water after a soothing steam sauna) and shell or fin fishing. Carefree living in a perfect Vineyard setting and private location near Featherstone Center for the Arts... offering Musical Mondays and Johnny Hoy & the Bluefish every Friday! And...State Beach & Katama South Beach are about 10-15 minutes away. We are about 5 minutes to Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs. Edgartown is 10 minutes away. Also, we have easy access to miles of walking and biking trails. So much to do.

You will truly ''unwind and chill'' in this mesmerizing setting that includes 1) waterviews from the main level living areas and brick patio 2) a hammock for stretching out and having a good read 3) the private beach for sunbathing,swimming, shell or fin fishing and napping 4) resident ospreys that sail above and sometimes land in the yard to eat their fresh catch.

    About our green amenities: We installed solar panels in 2013 and heat pumps around the same time.The new appliances were installed in the past 2 years and we use no chemical on the yard area(thus it may be brown in August).

    Thanks so much to our amazing host Doug and Amy. We had such a wonderful time at their house on Martha's Vineyard. This timeless house was perfect, the beds were so comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and loved the outside shower. The shaded outside patio was beautiful with the koi pond flowers and great place to enjoy your meals and view the ocean. From the patio was a quick walk to the beach to take a swim, kayak or just sit relax while watching the birds, fish and boats. Within walking distance was a farmers market stand with fresh vegetables and fruit. Shops,restaurants, fish market and beaches were a short drive away. I highly recommend this quiet peaceful getaway and we would return in a heartbeat. show more show less

    We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this secluded waterfront home on Martha's Vineyard. Perfectly situated at the head of bay (pond in local lingo) with great access to the island towns, ferries, and the airport. The home is very charming, comfortable and quiet. If you like music you will be in heaven exploring the owners extensive music collection. The patio, yard and private beach are wonderful. There are nesting Osprey in a tree in the yard. The home comes with paddle boards and kayaks for your use. A real hidden treasure is the ability to walk out the door and connect with an extensive and well maintained hiking trail system. Bottom line… it was a wonderful spot to explore and enjoy all of Martha's Vineyard from your own private paradise.

    Amy and I have 2 vacation rental proeprties in the Teton Mountains and 1 year round rental in that same location. Our Martha's Vineyard home is what we have for rent here. As retired folks(Amy was a teacher and I ran a real estate company) , we like to travel, so we plan to rent our home 2 weeks each summer. Last year we rented the 2 weeks through airbnb. ''Weneedavacation'' seems to be a better platform for renting on the Vineyard and I am able to get the short term tax waived on this site (since we only rent 2 weeks) ,,,,saving you money! Our goal is to provide you a beach house vacation with private beach (water craft included) in a quiet, peaceful setting. Let us know any questions.

    What is special about this property?
    Where to start? The house was built to resemble the ''belly'' of a ship so there is lots of cool woodwork and angles. Tall ceilings give the house an wide open concept and the many windows let ''the light shine in''. We just updated the kitchen so, if you like to cook, you will be in heaven. Outside is the brick patio with waterfall feature which is a great place to BBQ(gas & charcoal grill available), enjoy a cool beverage or just chat it up with your frineds... and of course the 100 ft long private beach (just steps away) is everyones favorite place to hang out. We have a resident osprey nest complete with babies, and by August they should be visible. You will enjoy swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding (all provided), fishing and clamming (you need a license) right off the beach! If you have a boat, bring it over as you can anchor right off the beah. You are encouraged to forage in the vegetable garden for whatever is ripe.

    What is special about your town?
    We are in close proximity to Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. Each town has its own ''flavor'' so we encourage you to explore. If you are adventourous, take the ''On Time'' ferry from Edgartown over to Chappaquiddick for the day...beaches and over sand adventures await. The 3 up-island towns are within 30 minutes or so and a visit to Moshup Beach and the Gay Head cliffs should be top on your list. Each town has great restaurants but a lobster take out from Net Result in Vineyard Haven or one of the fish markets in Menemsha make a great sunset beach picnic. So much to do and so little time! Stay for 2 weeks and get a 10% discount.
