The “Summer Wind” House - Walk to everything! We have completely renovated our 5-bedroom, 3-full bathroom home. Walk up the steps to our large wrap around porch where Adirondack chairs await you to relax and smell the salt air. The main level of the centrally air conditioned house consists of the large kitchen with large island with seating for 8 people. The dining room, living room, 1st floor bedroom with queen bed, full bathroom and laundry room complete the main level. There are 2 staircases which lead up to the second level with 3 queen bedrooms, 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds and 2 additional full bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms share Jack-and-Jill balconies with Adirondack chairs to enjoy ocean views. The large yard has a bluestone patio with fantastic outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower and plenty of room for lawn games and privacy. Let the Summer Wind House become your “Happy Place” for years to come. This house only rents Sunday to Sunday in the summer - inquire about other days on the shoulder months. May accept less than 7 day rentals off-season. Note: Cancellations/Refunds offered only if week(s) are rebooked.

A house you won't want to leave

September 2024

We just finished a 3-generation reunion with 6 adults and 3 small kids (aged 3, 2, and 1). "Summer Wind" was an ideal setting, very near the beach and quite walkable to Circuit Ave. The house is every bit as nice as pictured in the photos. We took advantage of all the outdoor amenities: the outdoor kitchen, the sofas and dining tables and chairs, the outdoor shower, the wrap-around porch, and the well-maintained flat yard. The two older kids had a blast in "their" dual-bunk bedroom. The indoor kitchen is a big plus, with the large island and seating and plenty of cooking supplies. We had enough room for everyone to gather in the living room or dining room. The upstairs' central air and the mini-split A/C units downstairs worked well. But everyone's favorite place to hang out was the large shaded porch, with plenty of room to sit, rock, or run around, depending on the age. Extras like beach chairs and toys are in the storage shed. There is plenty of off-street parking (room for at least 4 cars).

A Great Vacation Rental!

Just had a wonderful vacation in Martha's Vineyard with 6 couples in 2 houses, (this one and Solera next door). Summer Wind is just beautiful! It has an AMAZING kitchen, with a huge island that can seat 8, and everything you will ever need to whip up great meals. The outdoor kitchen is equally fabulous, we enjoyed some delicious burgers, sausages and grilled veggies out there. 5 well appointed bedrooms, 3 lovely bathrooms, nice linens, lovely porch chairs, water views from multiple rooms... Just a fantastic house! Super nice owners who are on island - Bill was there within minutes to answer some questions we had. Walk to the beach or to Circuit Ave. I highly recommend this house! show more show less

8 Canonicus Ave has the best of both worlds. The house is second row from the ocean, walk to everything including the ferry but also has a large yard with privacy to relax and enjoy your vacation!

What is special about your town?
Oak Bluffs blossomed in the 1800's as a summer religious retreat. The Methodist Camp Meeting Grounds (also known as Cottage City), hosts all the multi-colored gingerbread cottages with a grand open-air Tabernacle centrally built within Trinity Park. Bring your camera!

The nation's oldest continually-operating carousel is located in downtown Oak Bluffs, the Flying Horses, where you can have a try at catching the brass ring while riding. The downtown offers shopping, ice cream cones and summer evenings along the boat harbor brimming with food and music.
