Martha's Vineyard is a magical place but it's even more special when you stay at Meadow Rest, a comfortable, roomy, charming and cozy home (with a huge deck) that easily accommodates your family and friends. You'll feel right at home. We love it! And we stay there whenever we visit the island. We couldn't recommend it more.

My family, for the past 3 years, have enjoyed this lovely spacious home. It is very clean, welcoming and comfortable! We are very pleased that there are bathrooms for each of the 4 bedrooms and a 1/2 bath. In this regard, we continue to rent this home for our 2 week family vacations on Martha's Vineyard and we look forward to our visit there in August 2025.

My husband and I had an amazing time staying at MeadowRest with our extended family for a week in the summer of 2024. We can't wait to go back!

The whole house is super clean and decorated to make you feel right at home. There's plenty of space for a big group, and you never feel cramped. (We had three families!) The best part is the huge outdoor deck where you can spend hours eating, grilling, and drinking. And guess what? There's a swing set right there, so if you have kids, it's a huge plus.

There are three en-suite bedrooms and bathrooms (one downstairs and two upstairs) so everyone has their own space to shower and relax. There's also a second bathroom on the main floor and one in the finished basement. In the basement, there's a lounge to watch TV (there are TV's throughout the house), an extra bedroom, and a futon in the lounge area so there's enough space to sleep more people if you need to.

Since I love to cook, I needed a kitchen that I could work in. MeadowRest has it all! There are plenty of dishes, bowls, and silverware. Big pots to cook lobsters in, kitchen towels, and a washer and dryer right off the kitchen if you need to do a load of laundry while you're cooking.

MeadowRest is an easy to drive to all the beaches, and the area around this home is also a lovely place to take a walk. We found the neighborhood to be super quiet and lovely to live in.

You won't regret renting MeadowRest. The owners are super easy to deal with, and the home has every amenity to make renters feel welcome, comfortable, and happy.

Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful Oak Bluffs home! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the peaceful and serene setting—it truly felt like a retreat from the hustle and bustle, yet still conveniently located near everything we wanted to explore on Martha's Vineyard. The home itself is spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with every comfort we could have hoped for.

One of the highlights for us was the back deck—it was the perfect place to relax with a morning coffee while the kids played safely in the yard below. The outdoor spaces are well-maintained and inviting, adding to the overall sense of calm and relaxation. Inside, the home was stocked with everything we needed, from a well-equipped kitchen to cozy furnishings that made it easy to settle in.

Our children absolutely loved staying here! Whether they were enjoying the yard, playing games in the living room, or heading to the nearby beaches, they were happy and entertained the entire time. The location was ideal—not too far from town but tucked away enough to feel private and peaceful. The location also made it so easy to get anywhere on the island so we were able to easily explore all the amazing beaches, parks, trails, and artists Martha's Vinyard has to offer!

We can't recommend this rental highly enough. If you're looking for a comfortable, quiet, and family-friendly home on the Vineyard, this is the perfect place. We have already booked our next visit!

This is a somewhat rare example of finding a home as advertised. Nothing was promised that was not in existence. It worked so well for my family, especially the 4-year old who could easily have stayed in the playroom except for her love of the beach. In a word, just perfect.

The fact that it was well-appointed and included items that make a home a home was not lost on us. Much appreciated. Much enjoyed.

If you read all reviews you'll see that this is not our first stay, nor will it be our last! We have rented the property for many consecutive years and already booked for 2024. After renting other Vineyard properties, we have found that this is spacious, comfortable and suits our needs - even as our kids have grown. Easy drive or bike to OB, Vineyard Haven and Edgartown, in a quiet yet established neighborhood, with plenty of privacy. The expansive deck is great for post beach, the AC keeps the damp air out, kitchen has all the amenities you'll need, plenty of beautiful plants inside and out to make you feel at home. Books quickly so don't hesitate!

Our family loved our week at Meadowrest. Nestled in the woods, it was secluded and welcoming, while still being close to the beach as well as all the island towns. We even saw a family of turkeys strut across the front yard! It was nice that each guest/couple had an ensuite bath, and there were two family rooms, so we could all be together watching the women's world cup, or we could break out into separate areas to read or play games. The furnishings are comfortable and attractive, and Jamie Fishman's gorgeous photos decorate the walls. The enormous back deck was perfect for barbecuing, and gets plenty of sun for lounging during the day. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

This is a wonderful home, absolutely lovely. And each bedroom has its own bathroom.
The house is super clean, and the deck is wonderful. My father, who is elderly, spent a great deal of time relaxing in the family room. Our only issue was the location - while lovely and private, it was a hike up the hills to the hosue, no matter where we went on bikes. Had a wonderful week.

We were a party of three couples who knew each other for over thirty years, and each couple has travelled the world. It was a nice change to visit Martha's Vineyard, and our vacation was enhanced by staying in your lovely home in Oak Bluffs. The home is spacious, well appointed and exudes charm and warmth.

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay in your home. The amenities were wonderful, particularly the well equipped kitchen and air conditioning. We were delighted that each bedroom had it's own bathroom.

My family and I agree for the 30+ years that we have been renting on MV your home is by far our favorite! The spacious and private environment of the bedrooms with baths, the lush greenery overlooking the deck, the child centered playroom and outdoor play structures, the proximity to the bike path and the magic of the surrounding woods made it the perfect spot for our us. Carol and Jamie's Cottage was the perfect stay for our family vacation the weekend prior to Memorial Day weekend. It offered a much needed relaxing getaway in a peaceful and serene environment. Pet friendly with wonderful amenities.

We absolutely loved our stay. The house is lovely, has absolutely everything you could possibly need. The photos don't do it justice.

As someone who entertains a lot in my own home, it was refreshing to have a well-equipped house with serving platters, trays, bowls, endless glasses, etc. Each area of the house has its own cozy nook. We lit a fire nearly every day.

The hammock, the deck, the kids' play area, were all great. The whole flow of the house is wonderful. It feels like your own great house and not some sterile museum. I can't wait to return.

Our family of five enjoyed a fun and relaxing week at this charming house this summer. The neighborhood is beautiful and convenient--our three teens loved the location and they were able to bike to all of the towns and many beaches. We loved playing games and reading out on the deck (a family of turkeys wandered by a couple of mornings), and we all appreciated how well stocked and appointed the house is. We have stayed at MeadowRest for a number of years and are eager to return each summer! The home provides comfortable living in a great area. Our kids love safely riding bikes in the neighborhood and utilizing the tennis courts. The outside deck is large, with plenty of comfortable seating. Weather permitting it's the best for relaxing after the beach! The owners have made updates each year so there's always something new upon arrival. The central AC is a must as we typically visit in July when it tends to be hot as well as helping to combat the Vineyard damp. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes making for simple meal prep. You will not be disappointed!

We had a fabulous holiday with our two sons, their wives, my son's dog and our new grandson at this great property. Everyone was delighted with the accommodations and thought it was great that each bedroom had their own bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped for preparing Thanksgiving dinner, seating for all of us and lots of dishes to serve all courses of our meal. The living area was very spacious and nicely decorated.

Carol went out of her way to accommodate our needs. Great attention to all the details and quick responses to any of my questions. I highly recommend this property and we would love to rent it again.

Such an amazing and spacious house! Plenty of rooms/bathrooms with tons of natural light. A group of friends and I came during the off-season and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. My husband and friend from UK arrived late evening on a rainy night. On entering the house we were greeted with warmth and comfort. The home was beautifully kept and decorated by the owners, and we were delighted at the seclusion, peace and terrific kitchen! In the following days we walked the nearby beaches from Aquinnah to Chappaquiddick and explored the town of Oak Bluffs and Edgartown, all easily accessible from the house. My husband and I also rode the bikes supplied by the owners, which was great fun as the Vineyard has few hills... . Despite the time of year, we found welcoming pubs, restaurants and stores. We lit fires, wood supplied by owners, snuggled on the many sofas and enjoyed many meals at the large dining table.. Carol and Jamie are terrific hosts and always available to answer any questions . We highly recommend Meadow Rest.

Without a doubt one of the most peaceful Thanksgivings we've had in a long time. This house has everything we needed & more. Our little ones loved the play area and toys in the basement. We will be back - no question about that. Thank you!

What a great time we had at this beautiful and comfortable house during Labor Day weekend. With adult children, the privacy of multiple rooms with en-suite bedrooms makes the stay comfortable & enjoyable. Additionally, the large living area offers plenty of space to spend relaxing time together. The island during this transition part of the year, perfection! Highly recommend visiting off season! We have stayed at MeadowRest for two consecutive years and will repeat the stay next summer. This home is the perfect rental for a family. The house is situated in an established neighborhood off County Road. The neighborhood is perfect for children with large fields, safe for biking and going for walks. The house has plenty of bathrooms and the bedroom/bathroom configuration is perfect for our family. The outdoor deck provides ample comfortable seating and an outdoor shower - a Vineyard must. The kitchen is clean and organized with recently replaced appliances (2018). Would highly recommend this property.

We love MV anytime and come up in the off season regularly. This property is a keeper for all seasons! Warmly decorated with plenty of room for lounging, three spacious en suite bedrooms (plus other sleeping rooms), a wonderful fireplace to warm up in the off season, and a fully appointed kitchen (with new appliances) and dining area, we could not have been more comfortable and relaxed. Perfect for a large family or two families! And the huge deck is ideal for hanging out, barbecuing and dining in the warm weather. You can't miss with this great house!

As a travel journalist who spends so much of her life running around the world (5 international trips in the past 12 months) it is a pleasure to be able to stop and breathe sea air, enjoy leisurely lunches in local restaurants, browse the shops that are still open, visit the alpaca herd & just generally slow down my pace and leave my deadlines behind for Thanksgiving on M.V. This very comfortable house helped do just that. We loved the photography. And the fireplace. And the comfy sofas. And the peace & quiet.

We enjoyed our "off-season" stay near Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard. The home is located in a quiet wooded area where homes are a distance from each other and the main road several minutes away by car insuring quiet surroundings. On the other hand, major tourist attractions, shops, and restaurants, are also relatively close. The house itself has all major amenities including washing machines and dishwasher as well as a full kitchen. We are looking forward to returningl.

Well maintained grounds that retain their rustic beauty. A theme echoed throughout this charming cottage. Comfortably furnished, pristine yet exuding warmth. A well equipped kitchen for preparing meals most enjoyed on the large comfortable deck.

Each of the en suite bedrooms features cross ventilation and large slumber inducing beds.

The location invites hiking or casual strolling on accessible roads or paths, An easy drive to Oak Bluffs, The beach, and my favorite, the Alpaca farm.

I can only envision the coziness of this location when the grounds are covered with snow. A return visit is a must.

We received the year 2017 in this beautiful home! It was great for a party of 5. We all enjoyed our privacy when needed, yet the wonderful and spacious living space allowed us to comfortably spend quality time together. The location is very convenient, the neighborhood beautiful and the house perfect. We highly recommend it

This is a wonderful place for a large family or multiple families. The kitchen is well stocked and the house is well maintained. There is a very large deck for meals and to relax. Each bedroom has a bathroom for convenience and privacy, along with TV's in every bedroom and plenty of places throughout the house to play cards and games. Beaches are near by. You won't regret renting this wonderful home. The outside shower is always a highlight!

For getting around the island, this house was perfect - nearly equidistant from Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. The community it resides within is blissfully quiet and the house feels like it's all by itself. It's easy to find as well. As far as the house itself - it's got room for everyone, yet offers cozy nooks that provide for beautiful family bonding. We shared christmas dinner at the long dining room table, then cuddled on comfy couches in front of the wood burning fireplace (wood provided!). There was even a separate area for TV watching that carried a beautiful day time sun. The kitchen simply has whatever you need. You bring the food and drink - they've got an array of plates and utensils and cooking gear to satisfy even the most picky chefs. While it's big, the house feels intimate, tastefully decorated throughout - with lots of nooks and crannies. The master bedroom on the main floor was spacious with two windows looking out on the yard. Two upstairs bedrooms contained ample space with privacy for our teenage son to watch his you tubes! We barely scratched the surface of the play area in the basement - which has more beds for bigger groups. How lucky we were that a warm christmas allowed us to sample the multi-tiered backyard featuring a humongous deck, swingset and pleasant landscaping. What a great off-season getaway, though we're very tempted to return for summer high season. The owners are very reasonable to deal with, and a local realtor is your point of contact once you hit the Vineyard. Very highly recommended!Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway, Families with Teenagers.

What an inviting home with a wonderful layout and beautiful decor with all the comforts of home! We were two families that stayed over Thanksgiving. We cooked together in the kitchen which had everything we needed, and the open floor plan allowed us all to be together. It had room to accommodate a large group comfortably. It's in a great location and has a large, gorgeous yard in a beautiful neighborhood that we enjoyed taking walks in. Was sad to leave, and look forward to going back!

This lovely and attractive home is perfect for a relaxing fall weekend. We spent our days energetically exploring the island and were always happy to get back to enjoy our home away from home. The house is well appointed - we lacked for nothing - and the beds are really comfortable. We thought it would be a perfect place to bring our kids and grandkids.

A perfect summer and winter getaway!

My friends and I had the great fortune to find this rental property available for winter and summer stays! Our first experience was New years 2015. We spent a fabulous few days nestled by the fire place and enjoying lobster, board games and good company. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen had every possible amenity - great to host, and cook. We loved it so much we returned for labor day weekend. Summers are just as pleasant especially hanging out on the oversized deck. Barbecued, used the outdoor shower, and enjoyed all the Vineyard has to offer in the summer. I highly recommend this home for year round getaways!

My family and I found this beautiful house for our family reunion on Martha's Vineyard this past summer, while visiting our Northeast relatives. This house is amazing. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out, but still come together for family dinners on the large deck, or at the large dining room table ( There are 2 living room areas as well!). Each bedroom has its own full bathroom - a real bonus !! Beautiful grounds. Very private and quiet location. Fully equipped kitchen and many, many extras throughout the house. Very central location to all beaches, shopping and restaurants. The owners and their rental agent were a pleasure to deal with. Even though we live in beautiful Hawai'i, we love this house and hope to come back soon with our east coast relatives.

My wife and I were looking for a warm and inviting home for a quick Vineyard getaway and this house fulfilled all our vacation needs and more. It has beautiful furnishings, a clean, quiet and comfortable atmosphere, and a spacious outdoor deck. It is conveniently close to beaches and nearby towns.
