We've been coming to MV for many years and have rented our share of houses. We've finally found our home away from home with this one! We love everything about it! The location puts us close to everything we enjoy doing: go to the beach (2 blocks from the Inkwell), walk up and down Circuit Ave. (shopping, eating, and visiting the arcade), hang out at the park (playing tennis and basketball). The house itself is ideal for our family, especially the openness of the main level and the updated and extremely well-stocked kitchen. We spend several nights gathered around the big dining room table eating dinner and playing games. The three upstairs bedrooms are quite roomy, all with really comfortable beds. The porch is great for morning coffee and afternoon reading or napping??. If you are an avid reader, you'll really appreciate the owner's library, which includes a wide range of books to dig into or just flip through. There's also a cozy cottage house right next door, which is perfect for one or two people. It's close enough to the main house for whoever is staying there to be a part of the big group in the main house, but also provides some privacy or a place to escape. During our most recent stay, we had to reach out to the caretaker for a few minor maintenance requests and always got quick responses. I stayed at this house with family and friends for two weeks in June to celebrate my retirement. The dining table was great for family game night, friendly political debates, and fresh cooked lobster from Larsen's. During family week, we used the chef's oven to prepare many meals. We walked into Oak Bluffs every day. Inkwell Beach is basically at the end of the street. The house afforded comfort and privacy with two full baths upstairs and a half bath down. Also, front and back stairs afforded additional privacy. The charcoal grill and two tables on the huge deck provided extra options for dining or game time. Every night was sweet dreams thanks to the efficient air conditioning. The house is obviously owned by long time Islanders with mementos and memorabilia all around the property. My friends, family, and I noticed some new piece of art daily. Finally, coffee on the spacious front porch every morning added to the charm of the place.
