This charming home was perfect in every way for our family. Dorothy did such a fantastic job of providing such a welcoming environment, with tasteful decorations, comfortable bedding, and such a beachy/cozy vibe.

Everything was so warm and inviting, the inside & outside flow beautifully together. A great place to have a family gathering by the ocean and recharge your batteries.

This was only our second time renting a home in Edgartown, and we fell in love instantly! We usually vacation in Maine every year, but I have to say ... Martha's Vineyard might be my favorite, and we can not wait to go back and explore some more!

It's a short drive from our home in the Berkshires, and while each has it's own merits, there's just something about the island that makes us feel like we're a thousand miles away from home ... a true piece of paradise.

My husband, my son and I stayed here last fall with my parents, siblings and my niece & nephew. It was perfect in the sense that we could all spend time together, whether it be listening to music and feasting on family meals out on the patio, or having movie nights in the family room ... "Jaws" being one of our island favorites of course! (Fun fact: my Dad's uncle was in the film!)

But at the same time, it was also spacious enough to do our own thing when we wanted to, we even had our own little personal balcony off of our rooms. The patio was the go-to gathering spot in the evenings to just sit, relax and talk with one another.

You can not beat the location either, it's smack dab in the middle of South Beach (where we spent a lot of time with the kids, we loved the waves!) and the Village where all the shops & restaurants are. All were within easy walking distance of eachother, or a short bike/car drive.

Midnight strolls on the beach stargazing, and visiting Aquinnah were my favorites. The cliffs, the shops, the beach ... I loved it all.

My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary this October, and we CAN'T wait to come back to the island again with our family. My 7- year-old is ecstatic, it's all he can talk about!

We stayed for two fabulous weeks. The first week with our children and grandchildren. It was spacious enough to all gather yet set up for relaxing and reading. The house is extremely clean, well stocked with all the comforts of home. Dorothy is just a joy to rent from. We have been renting vacation homes for over 20 years now and without doubt can say that this is our favorite. Such great memories of the perfect family vacation in the perfect home and cannot wait to return. The Ryan Family

We have stayed at this house every year for about 15 years now. I can't say enough about the fantastic location and the great house. Super clean, everything you could possible need is already there. The washer and dryer save me a TON of laundry when I get home, and every morning I can run to South Beach or through gorgeous downtown Edgartown before the kids get up and it's time to go for coffee. So close to the beach, shopping, and still super quiet at night. GREAT for kids: big yard, and basically 2 living rooms. The years that our in-laws come with us they basically get their own floor. Kitchen is huge, and it's so easy to cook dinner there if you get sick of eating out. Grill is awesome too. Just great. AND THE OUTSIDE SHOWER IS AMAZING!!!! show more show less

We rented this home for the first time this year and were more than pleasantly surprised. Dorothy and Roy (the homeowners) couldn't have been nicer. They were extremely warm and friendly. The house itself is beautiful inside and out, super clean and neat with much attention to detail, two fireplaces, extremely spacious, a deck off each bedroom. Who could ask for anything more? Truly a most beautiful getaway in a most perfect location!

Looking forward to our return next summer! Thank you, Dorothy and Roy, for such a wonderful vacation!

I arrived with other members of my family on Friday, June 27. The place was impeccable. Everything was clean and ready to use. There was plenty of room for all of us and we had every amenity we needed. For me, as an active person, I absolutely LOVED the bike trail that led from the end of our street to the beach. I ran it every day, just wished I had my bike with me (next time for sure!!!). It was quiet and extremely peaceful - woke up to the sun rising and the birds chirping.
/>There was plenty of space for us to each individually hang out, or us collectively to get together for dinners or just spending time together. Loved all of the appliances, especially the washer and dryer. We were able to pack less knowing we had that capability. We were extremely comfortable, and my niece (10) was able to break away from adult conversation in the beautiful and spacious living area upstairs. I would HIGHLY recommend you rent this home, you will NOT be disappointed. I cannot wait to come back over and over again! show more show less

I am very happy to write a review on this wonderful property. For the past 14 consecutive years, my family and I have had the pleasure of spending our vacation on the Vineyard at Dorothy and Roy's home. This property has everything to make our stay very comfortable, and the homeowners are always available in case there is a problem. The house is large enough so that everyone has their "own space," the beds are super comfortable, and the kitchen is very well equipped, which is very important to us because we all love to cook.

There are many decks and a huge covered porch area that makes outside dining very comfortable, no matter what the weather is. We especially love the deck located outside the dining room....a special place to have our morning coffee. The Katama area is convenient to both the South Beach as well as just a short distance into town......both easily accessible by bike. We hope to spend many more years at this wonderful vacation retreat and are already missing this beautiful island. Roy and Dorothy are not only our landlords but have become our friends! My family and I have loved this house for years! Now they are grown and bring their adult friends. The house is spacious, clean, comfortable, huge windows, natural light everywhere, and so user friendly. My wife, who is picky, always points out how everyone can come here and have their own space. That's the best part. All of us gather in the kitchen and dining area to eat, yack, read the papers, talk politics, and plan the day. But at different times during the day or night, people always find their own space: reading in one of the four bedrooms, outside on one of the two porches, around the couch upstairs watching TV or by the new gas grill in the back. Amazing how the house holds people together and individually. They walk to Edgartown, sometimes take the bus which stops at the head of the road. And when they stay out late, they just catch a cab back. show more show less

This comfortable, clean, cozy and spacious home is a favorite or ours. There is plenty of space for our adult children and our grandchildren. Even grandpa who prefers reading over going to the beach always has a quiet, comfy spot to get lost in his book. With different generations sharing the house, it’s so helpful to have the multiple outside decks, the large dining room, the downstairs living and the second upstairs living room to accommodate all the different activities. Yet we can always gather at any of these spots so that the whole family can be together. There is a wonderful beach feeling to the house and having the beach so close allows us to go there anytime and even in shifts if everyone isn’t ready. Last, but not at all least, the grandchildren love the outside shower (and I do as well)! show more show less
