As a child, my husband spent many summers on the Vineyard, where he scoured the salt marshes and shorelines, summer adventures that began a lifelong love of fishing. Decades later, we were thrilled to be able to purchase our home in December 2024.
We love to travel and enjoy the outdoors, and we are also foodies — my husband cooks and makes amazing cocktails, our daughter and I bake, and our son is a professional chef. Our Vineyard home is the perfect location for lobster dinners, grilled burgers and fish, and cocktails by the pool.
We have spent the winter hunting for new furniture and decor to make the property even more inviting for our family, friends, and renters!
What is special about this property?
We fell in love with this house the first day we saw it! It's the perfect combination of indoor-outdoor living with multiple spaces to unwind and soak in the sun. The fenced-in pool area has a dining table, chaise lounge chairs and umbrellas, and an enclosed shower, plus a lawn area for games. The deck has a new sectional outdoor couch with Sunbrella cushions, plus a gas grill. The saltwater pool has steps and is heated to 85 degrees. Renters can use the association tents courts down the street free of charge.
Inside, the home is full of New England charm yet it also has a bright and airy feel with lots of sunlight. The living room is super cozy with a new Crate and Barrel sectional and a gas fireplace for cool nights, and the dining room table can easily seat 10 people, plus there is a high chair. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds and ample closet space.
The home has modern necessities such as four TVs, a cottage kitchen with a new oven, and a huge pantry. There are new bath and beach towels, two coffee pots, a blender, and books galore. The house is family-friendly with toys and games, but it's also a great place for adult couples since all of the bedrooms have queen or king-size beds. Dogs are welcome, too!
When we are not there, we have a great caretaker who owns a construction company on the island, and a local company cleans and maintains the pool. We are excited to share our home with visitors, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
What is special about your town?
Martha's Vineyard is "magical," as my husband likes to say. The raw beauty of the island is breathtaking, and there is so much to do with miles of nature trails, golf, swimming, and water sports like sailing, fishing, and kayaking. In addition to the famous South shore beaches with waves, State Beach offers calmer waters for little ones.
Our home is a great spot to explore all the island has to offer. It is on a quiet street, yet it's minutes from Morning Glory Farm, beaches, and Edgartown, and Oak Bluffs is also close by. One of the most popular island activities is cycling, thanks to a bike path located just 100 yards away, and you can take one of our four bikes (we also have helmets) and cycle for miles.
Edgartown is a charming old whaling town with great shops and restaurants, and there is plenty of live music and culture on the island. As a writer, I like that the island is full of artists, it has good book stores, and a wonderful, welcoming community. In addition, there are plenty of year-round events on the island, including a special one this summer — the 50th anniversary of the movie Jaws.
