This historic six-bedroom home is located on approximately 5 acres of land, once owned by Chilmark native Lucy Vincent and still maintained by her family today. Running throughout the property is a babbling brook of water that even has some fish swimming within. Additionally, you will enjoy the ancient stonewalls lining the fields and the meticulously landscaped yard. On-site is also an original two-story barn (inside not available for use) with a granite foundation.

Inside you will find gleaming hardwood floors, which have been newly refinished and restored--some of which date back to the 1700s. The first floor conveniently offers two bedrooms. One large room with queen four-poster bed and other smaller twin bedroom. The main full bathroom is also on the first floor and near the two bedrooms. Newer mini split A/C units are installed in both living rooms, dining room, and larger downstairs bedroom. The king bedroom upstairs is accessed by its own personal staircase with a door at the bottom. On the adjoining side of the second floor, there are three recently renovated bedrooms. Two with full beds and third with trundle daybed. Standing fans are located in many bedrooms. For those looking to leave the sand outside, the outdoor shower is always a favorite. This is privately located with a door on backside of house with a view of the surrounding brook. The kitchen, includes a walk-in pantry, comes equipped with full-size appliances and is ready for meals to be prepared and served with all the supplies, just bring the food! A full size washer/dryer are located in basement, along with a single toilet room, accessed from an outside only entrance.

For al fresco dining, there is a large picnic table provided along with a kid sized version. Other outdoor amenities include, Weber charcoal grill, multiple benches, L.L. Bean Adirondack chairs, kids beach toys with wagon, and beach chairs. Also, included is a private garbage/recycling weekly pick-up service.

While staying here you have access to the notorious and elite, Lucy Vincent Beach, including a 50 ft. exclusive section on the private beach. You are provided with a Lucy Vincent Beach car beach pass and individual private beach walk-on passes at no extra cost.     Beautiful Chilmark Vacation

    After driving by the Lucy Vincent House many times during our previous vacations in Chilmark, we are glad we finally chose to stay at this beautiful historic house. The location and private access to the beach can not be beat! The house was easily large enough for our party of 8 and very clean. Private, secluded bedrooms and comfortable common areas are very well laid out The kitchen is fully stocked and very functional. The grounds are private, quiet and absolutely beautiful. The highlight has to be the 5 minute walk to Lucy Vincent Beach which can be enjoyed even outside normal beach hours- we were never able to enjoy LVB early in the morning or late at nite during our many previous visits, and the beach passes are included in the rental. Katie was a pleasure to work with, very responsive and flexible. We are already looking forward to returning. show more show less

    Family, friendly, private oasis

    Our stay at the Vincent house was perfect for my family. The location and estate was perfect for two young families, and the home was beautiful. Very relaxing experience and hope to make more memories there in the future.

    Lucy Vincent house

    This house provided it so much warmth and history. I enjoyed reading about Lucy vincent and speaking witglh locals. The simplicity, the quiet, privacy and scenery Is all too much to put into words. What an amazing experience for my family and I. I can't say enough about the location. The owner katie was very responsive and easy to work with. I can't wait to schedule our next vacation there.

    What a beautiful place on the Vineyard. The location and yard are absolutely pristine Vineyard perfect. We had a wonderful stay visiting the beaches as often and effortlessly as possible. The up-island location is just great near all things needed and a great launching pad for visiting all places on the island. The house is great and very well equipped and provides endless hours of exploration and appreciation of wonderful island and family history.     Wonderful as always!

    We have stayed at the Vincent House many, many times and always look forward to our stays! It is so relaxing, the beach is amazing and the house is beautiful. Our children love playing on the beach all day and running around the big backyard at night before cooking s'mores on the fire. This year we had family pictures taken so we can always remember our vacations here. I highly recommend staying here for anyone looking to enjoy some time away that they will never forget!
