This charming and very private 5 bedroom vacation home is located on a beautiful 5 acre wooded lot. Walk, bike or drive to the picturesque fishing village and beach at Menemsha just 2 1/2 miles away. The house rental also includes the right to obtain beach passes to Lucy Vincent and Squibnocket Beaches, both located in Chilmark and considered to be among the most beautiful on the Island.

The main floor has three bedrooms; a Primary Bedroom Suite with cherry queen bed, cherry dresser, large desk area and a renovated private bath with 5 foot custom tile and marble shower with bench and vanity with granite countertop), two queen bed guest bedrooms which share a renovated full guest bath with stone countertop, a renovated eat-in kitchen with granite counters, slate floor, pantry, gas stove and stainless refrigerator and dishwasher, a large living/dining room (cherry dining table expands to seat 12) with cathedral ceiling and skylights, a den/TV room with a large L shaped couch and leather recliner, and a bright open and airy floor plan. The living/dining room is separated from the den/TV room by a two sided gas fireplace with adjustable and remote operation.

The lower level includes a large bedroom with a queen cherry bed and two dressers, an adjoining large ''kids'' room with twin beds (trundle) and bunk beds, a renovated full bath with stone countertop, a laundry room, a family/TV room with a True treadmill, and a 2-car garage. The lower level queen bedroom and kids room have large windows overlooking the grounds.

There is a covered front porch with glider, a sunny rear deck with teak table (seats 8-10) shaded by a large umbrella, and casual seating (4 wooden Adirondack chairs) shaded by a large tilt umbrella, an outdoor shower, front and rear lawns and flower gardens, stone walls, a (half) basketball court with adjustable glass backboard and hoop, a Weber Genesis propane gas grill connected to the house propane, and beautiful specimen trees throughout the property. There are several cleared walking paths which allow access to more remote parts of the property.

All bathrooms were newly renovated in 2016 with stone vanities and heated tile floors.

The den (65'' flat screen with sound system), Primary bedroom (55'' flat screen), guest bedroom #2 (48” flat screen), lower family room (55'' flat screen) and lower guest bedroom # 4 (48'' flat screen) all have cable TV with premium channels. Other amenities include stereo, wireless internet and national phone service, as well as premium bedding and linens for all beds. The house is also fully equipped with beach chairs, boogie boards, 1 canoe and 2 kayaks, and many games, books, puzzles, etc. There are tower floor fans (5) throughout the house and air conditioning units which cool each of the five bedrooms. The Living Room also has a ceiling fan and skylights and an air conditioning unit.

Our house is located in the beautiful ''Up-Island'' part of Martha's Vineyard, amongst rolling hills and winding roads bordered with stone walls. The house is part of the ''North Tabor Farm'' association which consists of 100 acres and is a portion of the old James Cagney estate. There are 18 houses and several ''farm lots'' and ''open space lots''. The houses sit on lots which range from 3 to 6 acres each and are therefore quite private. North Tabor Farm is a working farm which grows field greens and vegetables which are highly prized on the Island. The farm stand building where you can buy organic produce grown on the farm and other food and grocery products is just a short walk from our home. There are also several horses which graze in areas of open spaces in the development.

North Tabor Farm is located off North Road, about 2 1/2 miles from the quaint fishing village of Menemsha. Menemsha also has a town beach which does not require a sticker. Less than 1 mile from North Tabor Farm (a 20 minute walk) is Great Rock Bight, a beautiful and relatively unknown Land Bank beach on the north shore of the Island. There are walking paths on our property and also on conservation land which abuts our property and which lead to Peaked Hill with beautiful vistas of the island and the surrounding waters.

Lucy Vincent Beach is about 4 miles from our house; it is a short bike ride away. Beetlebung Corner with the Chilmark Store, the town library, Town Hall (which houses the beach pass office), the post office, and the Chilmark Community Center (which has a morning program for kids through the age of 14) is located 3 miles from North Tabor Farm. West Tisbury is located about 6 miles away, and Vineyard Haven and Edgartown are both 15-20 minute drives from our house. We think it's a perfect location for a restful vacation on a wonderful island.

    Outstanding Chilmark Rental!

    Our family had a wonderful time on the Vineyard and our accommodations were outstanding. What a beautiful home! Excellent location, fully stocked and every detail accounted for. SO comfortable, inside and out. Several spaces in which to spend time, for young and old, with plenty of privacy. Bedrooms and bathrooms were great - very comfortable beds, plenty of storage space, and everything was clean and fresh. A beautiful deck/porch and outdoor area, and wonderful outdoor shower.     Great House Perfect Location

    Our family has been coming to the vineyard for the past 20+ years. We have rented houses in different areas and this is the best house we've had the opportunity to vacation in. We have stayed here the past 3 summers and are planning to come back this year.

    The house is in a perfect setting. It's private yet open, surrounded by woods and stone walls with lawn space for activities and a large deck and gas bar-b-q grill. It even has a basketball court!

    The house is bright, in excellent condition, well stocked and very clean. The layout of the house is great with several sitting areas and a large dining room table for big gatherings of family and friends. The kitchen has every appliance and more for your cooking and baking needs.

    We always look forward to returning to this beautiful house in a prime location of Chilmark.

    What a wonderful house! As someone who has come to the Vineyard since I was a child, staying in this home was vintage vineyard and a perfect stay! We've come now for several summers in a row.

    The house is beautiful and in great condition, open, airy and sunny with great outdoor space and room for a family to relax and pursue a range of activities. I am a Mom of 2 toddlers and we were there with grandparents as well and for us it was perfect....lots of room to run around both inside and out (each on the sun-filled porch, we do puzzles, run in the sprinkler, play catch in the backyard, swing on a large tree, shoot hoops in their basketball court) and there is a great new kitchen to make whatever we wanted. There are 2 living / family rooms, so we could all do our own thing or be all together for watching a movie or eating (dining room table large enough for everyone). I can imagine the house is also perfect for older kids - there are canoes and kayaks the owners let you use and lots of space to just hang out.

    The location is great - it is set in a quiet, several acre property about a half mile from the famous North Tabor Farm, where we went every day to get fresh eggs, salad greens and various veggies. What a treat! The house is a 7-10 minute drive from Lucy Vincent Beach and the house comes with a pass - Menemsha is probably 5-7 minutes as well, and we spent time at both. Walking and biking paths nearby as well. But it is so quiet there and relaxing, while still giving us access to everything.

    Overall, we loved our stay and would recommend it. We only wish we could be there for more of the summer !
