This fully equipped two-bedroom cottage is located just minutes from the ocean, bay, ponds, bike trail, Audubon, flea market, and a picturesque golf course. Wellfleet village, which has retained its fishing village charm, is noted for its art galleries and fine restaurants.
A large screened-in porch is a popular feature with renters who use it for dining, playing games, quiet reading, and relaxing while enjoying the wonderfully fresh Cape Cod air.The outdoor grill is easily accessible from the porch.
Another popular feature with renters is being able to access three ocean beaches and three fresh-water ponds by using a back road from outside the cottage, thus avoiding the summer traffic on Route #6. The beaches and ponds are all a five-minute drive, or bicycle riding distance. The Cape Cod bike trail is also minutes away.
Finally, all renters comment on the quiet of the cottage community. A majority of the ten cottages are owner occupied, and those rented are to couples or families, often with return renters. A couple from Canada has rented in July for more 20 years. A woman and her daughter, a college student, have rented since the daughter was a baby. Another couple has rented in September for over ten years, following their mother who had rented for more than 12 years.
Those with young children enjoy the novelty of the Wellfleet Drive-In theater, surely a step back into the past. The cottage is equipped with WiFi, AC units, TV, and microwave, but the main pleasures for my renters have always been the beaches, the Audubon, the art galleries, the restaurants (no fast-food chains), and the opportunity to relax and be together with family and friends in a cozy cottage and quiet environment, away from the fast pace of of modern living. read more show less
