''Turn of the Lane'' (TOL) is a lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bath antique (1750) Cape on a quiet private lane in Wellfleet Village.

TOL is located within easy walking distance (1/2 mile) of Wellfleet’s Main Street area, the Wellfleet Town Pier and Marina, Mayo Beach and Baker’s Field playground basketball, pickleball and tennis courts.

On the first floor, TOL has a well-equipped kitchen with counter and 3 bar stools, living room with queen pull-out sofa and 2 large comfy swivel chairs, TV with wifi for streaming, full bathroom with tub/shower, main bedroom with CA king Tempurpedic mattress (and window A/C unit), and compact electric washer/dryer.

The second floor has 2 bedrooms (with A/C window units) and a shared full bathroom with shower. The larger bedroom has a queen bed, and the smaller bedroom has 2 full beds. Access to the 2nd floor is via steep steps with narrow treads, common in antique homes.

The kitchen opens to a lovely shaded brick patio with gas grill, dining table, 6 chairs & umbrella for outdoor dining and relaxation. There is a shady lawn area on the side of the house with a hammock and line for hanging beach towels and laundry.

Access the attached workshop/shed through the kitchen and driveway area, with entrance to a private outdoor shower. From the workshop/shed you can access (via steep ship’s ladder) a bonus upstairs carpeted game room, with sloped-ceiling, skylights and futons.

    Charming Cottage by the Sea

    Charming and well kept home that's located walking distance to everything! It's private and very clean with all the amenities to enjoy the special community of Wellfleet. We walked to the bay side to enjoy the sunsets and sunrise and enjoyed excellent local cuisine! The grocery store and wine shop are excellent surrounded by galleries from local artists.
    We look forward to coming back to this special place!

    We loved this pleasant cottage so much, we came back. It's nestled on a quiet lane with other historic houses, and an easy walk to shops and restaurants and Mayo beach. Also a 10-minute drive to ponds and ocean beaches. Equipped with everything you'd need on vacation. Responsive owners. Will be back again!

    Fabulous House

    We have rented in Wellfleet for many years and know that often the older homes are charming, but sometimes "musty' feeling. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Turn of Lane. The house had all of the charm we expected, but was immaculately maintained and felt fresh and clean. As the week went on, we also realized how thoughtfully stocked it was - everything we needed was there and well organized. Also, the location is amazing; private but so close to town and the harbor. And Lisa is a great host - responsive and thoughtful. Would HIGHLY recommend renting this house - one of the best houses we have ever had! show more show less

    Historic Gem Steps from Town Center

    Beautiful, updated historic cottage on a quiet lane. Sunny and immaculate with lots of charm. We loved the spacious kitchen that made it easy for more than one adult in our group to prepare food at the same time. Comfortable, inviting living room. Extra-large first-floor bedroom was particularly nice, and all the beds in the house were extremely comfortable. Lovely private patio for drinking morning coffee or enjoying a glass of wine at night. Easy, 10-minute drive to Newcomb Hollow Beach. We will return! show more show less

    Our family has enjoyed family vacations in Wellfleet for over 50 years. We look forward to helping to make your stay memorable, either at ''The Mayflower'' on the Gull Pond/ocean side of Wellfleet or at ''Turn of the Lane'' in the village.

    What is special about this property?
    The Mayflower: The open floor plan with 6 bedrooms on 3 levels allows for both privacy AND space to be together for large family groups. The deck has 3 large picnic tables, plus screen porch, for morning coffee, afternoon cocktails and the family lobster feast.
    Across Mayflower Drive you can easily access sandy roads and wooded trails within the National Seashore. You can hike or bike through the woods to the ''sluice'' between Gull and Herring Ponds (about 1 miles each way), or all the way to Newcomb Hollow beach (about 2 miles each way). Enjoy the quiet ''ocean side'' of Wellfleet, with a short drive to Wellfleet Center for art galleries, shopping, groceries and restaurants, and bayside beaches.

    Turn of the Lane: Our historic (1750) classic cape cottage has been lovingly renovated. Tucked away on a private lane in the Village of Wellfleet, this cozy 3 bedroom cottage (1400 square feet) is beautifully decorated and is within easy walking distance (.5 mile) to town center, the marina and Mayo beach.

    Wellfleet is an ''outer cape'' gem with beautiful Cape Cod National Seashore wooded trails for walking, hiking and mountain biking, and ocean and bayside beaches and freshwater kettle ponds for sunbathing and swimming. Lively Wellfleet Town Center offers restaurants, art galleries, cute shops and grocery options. Wellfleet Harbor offers boat rentals, more dining and theater options, bayside beaches and spectacular sunsets. This is truly a special place!
