We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is in a perfect location with a spacious lawn where kids can play or parents can relax in the outdoor seating. The house itself is very clean and very well stocked. The air conditioning worked well and the new windows worked well too, making the house comfortable even as a heat wave hit the east coast. The ship stairs weren't a problem for the kids. Lana was easy to communicate with. Highly recommend, zero issues, and would love to return.

The Cape is our happy place and this fall we fell in love with this charming cottage. Immediately we felt at home because the owner had thoughtfully anticipated every need we possibly could have had. The house was clean – a MUST, for me. We easily navigated the ship ladder stairs. The outdoor patio was magical at night and perfect for waking up slowly with strong coffee and sweet baked goods and a book. On the day it rained, we found ourselves gathered around the butcher's block in the kitchen plotting out our day's adventures. In all the years we've vacationed at the Cape, never have we ever been able to walk to wonderful restaurants and outstanding galleries. That was such an extra bonus and treat. And the nights where we over indulged at dinner (ordering dessert), we all ended up in the family room, sinking into the sectional while we watched movies. We have been coming to Wellfleet as a family the last 15 years and stayed in the same house year after year as our family grew. 3 summers ago we were forced to find a new rental home. We are lucky to find this incredible home that we can continue making family memories at within Wellfleet. This awesome home has a fantastic large lawn for games that is hidden with bushes along the road. The inside is nice and spacious for together time and for everyone to have their own space on a rainy day. There is truly everything available within the kitchen you would possibly want or need to prepare and serve a meal. The bathrooms are good size (the outdoor shower gets the most usage from my family). Plenty of outdoor seating areas. You can't beat this location- walkable to our favorite restaurant, Macs as well as to all the other shops, ice cream spots, the market, coffee, playground and tennis/ pickleball courts. We bring our bikes and ride or walk everywhere within this part of Wellfleet. This house even has a bike rack for the bikes! Washer / dryer. The property is so warm, welcoming and relaxing, we love just spending time hanging out and relaxing after a day at the beach. There is also a great office area set up if you need to work or jump on Zoom for a meeting. We are thankful we have found this beautiful home as it's part of my families cherished memories. show more show less

We have stayed here for three consecutive summers. Our family has rented in Wellfleet for 30 years and really like being close to things. This home is in a great location -- easy walk to Mayo Beach, the pier, tennis/playgrounds, Wellfleet Center, seafood markets, and great restaurants. Short drive to ponds and ocean beaches. Very well-equipped kitchen, good for those who like to cook. Wonderful garden and porch. Not the best for little ones, due to historic nature of the home (steep stairs), but great for older kids/teenagers. Owners are very responsive and helpful. show more show less

Our family of four has found this house to be a perfect vacation spot for us three years in a row. Our two sons share the quarters above the ship captain's staircase. They each have their own room and enjoy the sitting area when they wake up early in the morning. My husband and I like to read on the front porch with pastries from the nearby bakeries (PB Boulangerie or Flying Fish). Early morning bike rides to Great Island on the bay are a great way to start the day. Then it's off to the closest ocean beach at Newcomb Hollow for the day or a ride on the rail trail, which is accessible now from the Wellfleet State Campground. In the evenings, we walk to one of the harbor restaurants or grill on the BBQ and enjoy the beautiful lawn. The neighborhood has timeless Wellfleet charm, absent of the tacky trappings of so many beach towns. We feel fortunate to have a place with extra room if a friend or grandparent wants to join us for a couple of days during the stay. show more show less

This house is in a wonderful spot in Wellfleet minutes away from Mac's Shack and in walking distance to Wellfleet Harbor and the nearby restaurants. The house is very tidy, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean and updated. The stairs to the guest bedrooms are steep but our guests were able to navigate them fine. The house has everything you are looking for in a beach house, a cozy front porch to read, nice outdoor space with gas grill, outdoor table and chairs and party lights and even a hammock. Our family enjoys staying in downtown Wellfleet as we like to walk to Mac's Shack, the Pier, Mayo Beach and all the shops in town. The location of this property was peefect! We liked the charm of this cozy house which was very clean and on a quiet street. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The bedrooms had comfortable beds. There is a set of stairs that are quite steep leading to two bedrooms but our family was able to navigate the stairs, no problem. The master bedroom has a separate set of stairs that are normal. The only thing we wished for was a door to close off the master. The outdoor area was lovely with patio furniture, grill and string lights. My husband enjoyed the front porch as a quiet place to read. We found the owner to be friendly, very attentive and quick to respond to any questions. A very charming property! We stayed here the 2nd week in June (5 adults) and we had a fantastic family vacation. We have been coming to the Cape as kids since the 1970s and we have rented a number of homes over the years and we put this home in our top 5 we have stayed in. The home was built in 1860s and has a lot of character and is cozy, clean, quiet with plenty of nooks for everyone to have space to read, play games, watch TV and have their privacy. Bedrooms are upstairs and the beds were all comfortable (the king bed is in between soft and firm which was great for us) and there are mini-splits for A/C for the bedroom areas and one downstairs. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you will need including spices, all kitchen utensils, coffee grinder, coffee maker with filter, blender, microwave, and plenty of pots/pans. I suggest arriving to the house first and checking out the pantry goods before purchasing something ahead of time because the owner provides a lot. There is a gas barbeque that was fun to cook on out in the quiet yard. The yard has lights strung up for evenings outside, a patio with table and 4 large Adirondack style chairs, a clothes line, outdoor shower, two lounge chairs on a small deck and even a hammock. We spent time out on the front porch with our wine. The owner is friendly, attentive, and responded quickly to any questions we had. For us, it was all about the location in Wellfleet because you can walk to Mac's Shack, the Pearl, basketball courts, and the shops in town. The ponds are only a few minutes away and we swam there almost every day. There is a set of steep stairs that leads to two bedrooms and the futon/TV area that everyone was able to navigate. We had two adults over at 6 ft tall and they managed fine. Small children would have to be careful at the top of the stairs seeing that it is open and I think the owner mentions this in the description. Both bathrooms are on the first floor and each had a blow dryer provided which was handy. Parking is to the right of the front of the house with space for 3 cars to park nose in. We managed to park a Ford F350 lengthwise and Subaru Forester could nose in without any difficulty. We have already recommended this house to our friends and it's a great home for anyone wanting to vacation in the center of Wellfleet. show more show less
