This building was constructed in 1985 as a sculpture studio and living space, in which we could work and live as my elderly parents occupied the main house on this property. The living space, (the rental part) is facing west with lovely views where one can watch the beautiful sunsets over the bay. Sheltered by pine and oak trees, it is very private and hidden from the main house.

Downstairs, there is one large open room with a wood stove (kitchen, dining and living space) and a bathroom. The two bedrooms (a queen and a double) are upstairs with sloping ceilings and skylights (with shades and covers, in case you don't like the light coming in). The bedrooms are off either side of the stairs, and there is one door between them. We will provide bath towels and linens to those who take the house for a month or longer. Otherwise please bring your own.

The kitchen area has a fridge, sink and counters, but no stove. Instead there is a double hotplate, an oven, a microwave oven, several electric pots and an electric frying pan. A large sliding door off the main room goes onto the deck, where there is a big red gas grill with a side burner for cooking with a pot or pan (very good for cooking in hot weather). There are chairs and a picnic table, as well as a low table for small gatherings. One can practically live outdoors!

In the basement, there’s a laundry machine, and no dryer, but there’s a clothesline outdoors by the parking lot.

To get to the studio, there is a special little road going from the main house parking lot. At the end, there is enough room for four cars. You can walk down the little road, back to Bound Brook Way, and follow it on down to the beach, which is quite private. A five-minute walk north from that beach will take you to Ryder Beach, or if you head south you can get to Duck Harbor in about 15 minutes. But we always feel that our beach is the best!

Our listing says no pets. However, we do allow one dog, as long as he is friendly and will play nicely with our dog, and also as long as it is housebroken and the poop outdoors around the house is cleaned up.

We would prefer to rent to people for 32 days so we will not need to deal with the short term rental taxes, therefore we are charging less per week for a monthly rental. (please see the page with dates and costs)
