This lovely, two-bedroom, one-level cedar-shingled house is on a quiet street with a big front garden and a private backyard. It's got charming details like a fireplace with dental molding and modern upgrades like granite counters. As of Feb 2025, there are ALL NEW windows and doors plus a brand new deck off the kitchen (in addition to the mahogany deck you see in the photos). In 2022 I added new mattresses, a new couch, new appliances, a new grill, and new air conditioners. We have the best possible wifi here, plus Chromecast so you can stream your services. The house is decorated with original art and beautiful textiles, and it has everything you need for your vacation from a lobster pot to an outdoor shower. There are multiple locations to work, rest, read, and chill out in style.
Located within walking distance of the bike path, National Seashore hiking trails, and the best French bakery on the Cape, it's only 1 mile to LeCount Hollow Beach (ocean) or 1 mile to Paine Hollow Beach (bay).

    Perfect Cottage

    This is a perfect, charming cottage. It is comfortable, spotless and tastefully decorated with original art. There is plenty of room for socializing, eating, and watching tv and separate space to enjoy reading or just thinking! The "breezeway" was my favorite place to read. Yard and grounds are private and beautifully landscaped. The patio is perfect for gathering for drinks or meals. It is easy to walk around the quiet neighborhood with or without a pet. Located near town, bay and ocean beaches, restaurants, and galleries. We stayed here for a week last October with our dog; I have already recommended this cottage to several friends!

    Beautiful cottage in great location. Perfect size for 2 of us and our dog. Maura was very responsive and great to deal with throughout the rental process. Despite the so-so weather we really enjoyed our stay.

    Cozy cottage nestled in trees. Very artistically decorated with all amenities. Close to beach and restaurants. We felt very comfortable in the home and plan to return.

    After growing up nearby and spending many summers on the Cape, Maura bought and renovated her house in 2006. This year (2025), she replaced ALL of the windows and doors and added a new porch off the kitchen. Last year (2024), Maura installed an induction stove, added new art, and made small upgrades throughout the house. Her home is clean and cheerful, with an eclectic mix of textiles and art that she's excited to share with visitors. Maura's pollinator-friendly garden is full of native plants. A ring of rhododendrons circles the back porch, adding privacy and shade. Maura is an art educator, illustrator, and storyboard artist.

    What is special about this property?
    My house is charming, comfortable, and private, with lovely gardens and a private backyard. The decor is bright, chic, and cozy but there are no lobster or lighthouse prints here (though there may be a seagull decoy). All mattresses and seating options are super fresh and comfortable. I decorated my home for myself, but with guests in mind, so you'll find moments of sophistication combined with vacation-appropriate whimsy. I hope you'll enjoy my collection of art, books, and textiles as well as my fully-equipped kitchen.

    Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and the backyard and nearby N.S. hiking trails (to Duck Pond) are ideal for a morning walk off-leash. A map of the trails will be made available to guests.

    What is special about your town?
    Wellfleet is a beautiful, old-fashioned beach town with the best chowder and oysters on the planet.
    The National Seashore includes 40+ miles of woods, marshes, ocean beaches, clear ponds, and bay beaches to explore.
    Lighthouses, cultural landscapes, and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod's past and continuing ways of life. We also have the best French bakery this side of Paris and the famous Cape Cod light that inspires artists from all over the world.
    According to Henry David Thoreau: ''A man (woman or child) may stand there and put all America behind him.''
