Secluded modern house in National Seashore woods

Our bright, spacious home is located in the woods one mile from the center of Wellfleet. The secluded two-acre property abuts the National Seashore and faces a marsh. With big windows looking out onto pines, oaks, and goldfinches, it feels like a tree house.

The house is located at the end of the road, with a large flower and herb garden on the cul-de-sac and a cherry tree in the center. Facing the garden is a big deck with an outdoor table. A second deck faces the marsh. A swing and rope hammock hang in the back. There's also an enclosed outdoor shower facing the woods.

It has three floors. On the ground floor are two bedrooms (one with a bunk bed plus double bed; one with a double), a bathroom with shower, a TV area (Roku), and a living room with a fireplace that opens onto a small deck. On the second floor, there is a big open kitchen (fully equipped) with tons of counter space and an electric stove and a large dining room table; half bath; and a cozy den off to the side. The third floor has the master bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom with tub/shower. The house has high-speed internet.

Ceiling fans in the bedrooms, an airy second floor, and wooded location keep the house cool in the heat of summer. We have found there is no need for air conditioning.

The location is near both bay and ocean beaches, the harbor, and Wellfleet’s many kettle ponds. You can bike on quiet back roads into Wellfleet Center or to Truro.

We have several child-friendly amenities, including a pack 'n' play, booster seat, blocks, children's books, and baby hiking backpack.
