We had an exceptional experience at this unique house in the trees that provides a very private yet conveniently located vacation spot. It was so easy to find, was exactly as described, with many great amenities that made our stay very enjoyable. Rebecca is extremely attentive and helpful in providing all the information you need for your stay, and the home is set up very nicely for multiple families with the multi tiered design and full bath on each level. We highly recommend this spot as a wonderful getaway.

This was our second time renting this house with our kids and grandkids, and that should say a lot. It's just a terrific house: an ingenious multilevel layout, with a wonderful flow between common and private spaces; ample decks in a beautiful secluded setting; easy access to wonderful ponds and beaches, and very well equipped. The owners are gracious and helpful. A big thumbs up!

Spacious home with plenty of comfortable seating and beds. Many game nights around the large table and dinners on the deck. Outdoor shower was a nice experience after the beach. Close to the beaches, pond and restaurants. Quiet setting. Host has great communication. We loved the open main spaces and wooden beams. Nice "treehouse" feel but with plenty of room for a large family.

We have stayed in Wellfleet for over 35 years in a variety of houses, and this was one of the nicest we've ever stayed in. Rooms were comfortable, and the third floor air conditioners came in very handy, b/c this was one of the hottest weeks we've ever been on the Cape. The outdoor shower was clean and lovely, and the house is surrounded by woods. Bring some bug spray, b/c at times it did get a bit buggy. Very quiet surroundings with lovely sunset and tree-lined views. If you're into games or reading, a ton of options for you. Only caution is the long driveway. On the only rainy day my daughter had difficulty in her vehicle getting up the hill. You also can only have 3 mid-large size vehicle in this driveway, b/c turning around/backing out is a bit tricky. Other than that, great house and would totally stay here again,

Nestled up a steep driveway, this private, perfectly stocked and appointed house has everything you need - decks for lounging, open floor living room and kitchen for relaxing and shared cooking, private feeling levels with comfy beds (each with own full bath), even a shed with beach toys, chairs and umbrellas - Rebecca's house is a dream - super close to ponds, oceans, and town and you can snack on the nearby blueberry bushes! Would totally return!

The house in the trees was the perfect place for my family and I to restart a cape vacation tradition! The house is very conveniently located to downtown Wellfleet and the ocean beaches! The house was perfect layout for both communal time and separate sleeping spaces. House was clean and well maintained. Thank you Rebecca! We'll be back!

We have been going to Wellfleet for about a decade and this home was our favorite! There was so much that was great about this place. Sitting in the living room (or the patios), you really feel like you are tucked in amidst the trees, with large windows all around looking out at the beautiful Cape Cod treetops. The high ceilings and skylights enhance this feeling. It also has great patios, and gorgeous sunset views, and access to ocean beaches and ponds without having to cross Rt 6 (we walked back from Gull Pond). The pantry was well stocked with a great collection of spices and tea. The home has an open layout but the bedrooms are tucked away and private from each other. There is plenty of space for a large group to eat together, socialize, or sit in separate areas. The driveway does take some getting used to, as it is fairly steep, but with a little practice we figured it out. Rebecca was also a lovely and very informative host.

We had a lovely week at Rebecca's house. Very beautiful and private space that was close to everything we love on the Cape, including the kettle ponds and beach. Fantastic light and views from the windows. We even woke up to a six point buck looking in on us one morning! Spacious, clean and well appointed.

I can't say enough good things about this home and the owner, Rebecca. Rebecca was very available to answer any questions we had. Her home is spacious and gorgeous. It has unique and beautiful architecture. With lovely, personal decorations, it was more like staying at a friend's very nice home than at your standard rental. It is on a quiet street, with views of surrounding wooded areas.

We had a lovely stay here. The home is spacious with a lovely deck where we had all of our meals, and it's close to town.

Our group of 3 adults and 3 children loved the decor and relaxing spaces in this rental property. The house sits up on a hill and catches lovely breezes, with many large windows, giving great light throughout the cathedral ceiling main living areas, open balcony and upper areas. There were cozy seating areas for small and large groups to gather throughout. The open kitchen was very well stocked and ready for any type of cooking you wished to do.
The beds were comfortable with good closet space and plenty of fans for warm weather. (It was warm and humid when we visited but we were never hot in this home)! The outdoor decks were lovely and comfortable , with shade and sun in different areas.
The home was very clean when we arrived and stocked with necessities such as paper towels, toilet paper and clothes detergent etc, Rebecca had thought of everything to make a vacation stress free and relaxing! We have been vacationing in Wellfleet for many years and this is our favorite rental and we hope to make it an annual stay for years to come!

Rebecca's home in Wellfleet was such a warm and inviting place to spend two weeks with my extended family. The house is very well maintained and the location is great – on the ocean beach and pond side of Route 6 but just a short bike ride into town. The house has plenty of room with many comfortable spots for a group of eight to have privacy from one another and is so well stocked with anything you need to cook great meals. For rainy days there are board games and lots of books on the shelves to borrow. Rebecca is a great host – super responsive and helpful. We look forward to our next stay.

This was our second stay and each year is better than the last! With a very large living room and 2 spacious decks, there is definitely room to spread out or gather together for meals and games galore! The house and roomy outdoor shower are always clean and tidy, airy and fresh! Located in Wellfleet, there are numerous restaurants to enjoy but the house is expertly equipped with everything you need to prepare lunches and dinners, from grilling to lobster! My favorite is the additional shed which houses boogie boards, kick boards, beach chairs, umbrellas and even floats for the ponds and bayside beaches! Couldn't be better!

Rebecca's house is extremely cozy and comfortable, with a very well equipped kitchen. The decks are surrounded by trees and are peaceful throughout the day. The living room has comfy furniture and the the house has excellent natural light. We really appreciated the air conditioning units for sleeping, otherwise the main living area has a good cross breeze. We hope to come back and stay another time!

We had the nicest time at Rebecca's wonderful home in Wellfleet. Entry, exit and instructions were super clear, location was great, and as a host Rebecca was helpful and available! Would absolutely come back!

We keep coming back to this beautiful house year after year. If my memory does not fail me, the first year I rented it was six years ago and since then it has been love at first sight.

We love the location near the ponds and our favorite beach (Beach Comber). The house is surrounded by trees and it's a pleasure to sit outdoors in the front or back decks to enjoy meals or drinks after a day at the beach or pond.

I love the architectural design of the house with its high ceiling and spacious living room, kitchen and dining area. A great place to spend a week with our dear family members in the most likable best summer place we know.

This is a lovely home with easy access to the ocean beaches of Wellfleet as well as gull pond which is less than a mile away. It is extremely well equipped with a full kitchen , numerous games, books, beach chairs and beach toys, etc. Rebecca even provided paper products for our lengthy stay!

A private sanctuary away from it all and yet close to everything that matters. Great open spaces, two decks surrounded by trees and a kitchen well-equipped with all the necessaries and much more. Even with two adults and four adult-sized kids the house never felt even remotely crowded and yet when we gathered to play a game it was cozy as can be. We loved it and are already planning our next visit.

This is a wonderful place with everything we could need. The house has an open floor plan and yet it manages to provide all kinds of nooks and separate spaces—very well designed. It is modern and rustic. We were two families, for a total of seven (4 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 kid) and everyone had the right amount of space. The extra 'mezzanine' area with TV (and many games) and study was a nice plus! Most of all I love how when you sit in the living room, you are surrounded by treetops. Rebecca is also very generous with supplies—paper towels, napkins, condiments. Everything feels thoughtfully organized and used by a family. An outdoor shower that is both hot and cold much appreciated. If you like using Gull Pond and Newcomb Hollow Beach it's a perfect location—we biked there.

Extremely well equipped home with plenty of room. Very quiet location. Very good owner to deal with. There are some steps to walk up and parking is limited to three cars but the owner makes that very clear. No surprises The home has a very relaxing vibe to it.

As expected, the house was comfortable. well stocked and in a great location. We love sitting on the deck eating the best seafood which we purchased in town. The WiFi worked fine and there was plenty of room for everyone.

We would highly recommend this rental! We have visited Cape Cod 5 times and this home was certainly one of the nicest and cleanest. They really thought of everything, from things to bring to the beach, to a very well appointed kitchen. The only thing we needed to provide were linen and towels, which frankly I prefer. the house is very cool , on several levels with lots of art and knick knacks to admire. There was lots of space for my husband and I and our 3 kids to spend time together and there was also lots of space if we needed privacy. I have to say the furniture was also very comfortable- we’ve stayed at places where the beds are uncomfortable or the sofas are kinda old, but everything here was really well thought out, clean and comfortable. And of course the best part was the outdoor shower!! And our hosts were easy to contact if there were any issues. We would absolutely stay here again.

This is our second year renting house. Plenty of room and very well supplied kitchen right down to the Tupperware. Big dining table, good for family meals and games. Comfortable living room and plenty of fans. Would absolutely rent again.

Visited Cape Cod 4 times for the last 12 years. On my third trip, I was looking for bigger house for party of 8. And consider myself lucky once found Rebecca's house.

Here is a list of advantages you would get:-
1. Technically house is 3 stories with 4 bedrooms. Comfortably sleeps 8. But there is another floor sort of TV and children play area with 2 coaches plus some area for people who need to work and might require some privacy. 2 bathrooms.
2 First Floor is kitchen (includes everything that you have at your own house) big dining table that can accommodate 10 people if required, and huge living area with 2 couches
3. 2 bedrooms on second floor and 2 air conditioned (big plus especially if you want to take a nap in a hot day) bedrooms on 3rd floor.
4. 2 patios (the smaller one before the entrance door) and the bigger more private in the back of the house. Each has comfortable seating chairs and folding chairs that allow you take a nap in not so hot days or just enjoy some after the lunch and dining tables.
5. Picture does not reflect how secluded the house is. Very quiet in the forest area. You barely can see 2 houses through trees nearby each one at least 200 feet away . So almost no noise
6 All perks such as washing, drying (in the basement), dish washing (recently purchased as my wife said) machines, big nice (for summer houses) kitchen for your convenience. All kitchen accessories (glasses of all kinds, plates, pots ,cups and on and on and on). I have not asked Rebecca but did use even various spices that conveniently stored in separate kitchen cabinet .
7. Have not watched TV myself but children can watch TV with HBO included.

Now what I consider most important advantage.
House is located 0.5 mi from Gull Pond ( it's not a pond from my point of view -- it's a lake in terms of size. Excellent clean water) and about 1 mile or so from the one of the best beaches in Cape Cod.There is 2 more ponds. I visited just one of them called Long Pond (smaller than Gull Pond) about mile or so drive.

Rebecca is very friendly almost immediately responds to all your possible needs which most likely you would not have.

I'm planning to visit in the future and even would not have a big party still would not consider another house to rent.

I promise, you would not regret renting this house in one of the safest, quietest, and nicest towns -- Wellfleet !!!

We were lucky to have had our first family vacation on the Cape at this spacious cottage. The cottage description and previous reviews are very accurate - it’s a beautifully decorated multi-level cottage with a special Cape Cod feel to it. Rebecca and Skip have set their cottage up very thoughtfully to make for an easy home away from home experience. The kitchen was very well stocked, with an abundance of pantry items and those things that you forgot to bring. The accommodations were very comfortable with well maintained furnishings. Extras included beach chairs and umbrellas for trips to the ponds or seashore. Daytrips to Provincetown were so easy. In terms of location, it’s ideal if you have a vehicle and want privacy. If you are comfortable with a driveway that is on the steep side, this cottage is as close to perfect as you can get. Rebecca was absolutely wonderful to deal with and didn’t hesitate to go out of her way to help us when needed.

We had such a wonderful time staying in your home. It is a beautiful, light, and airy house. We saw wild turkeys walking by in the forest when we were sitting on the deck. It is so well located, near beach, pond and Wellfleet. It is also the best-stocked house we have ever rented which made everything easier. We would love to come back next summer.

Location, location, location was great! You are minutes to the beach, minutes to Wellfleet Center and minutes to the pond. If you are like our family and hit these three spots almost daily, you'll love this house. Other things we loved: the outdoor shower (with hot water), the deck (which had a table that seats 8), an outdoor grill (charcoal), and indoor dining table (that also seats 8) and a separate area for the TV watchers in the group. We love to cook dinner at home to avoid the crowds. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment (even had a pastry brush!), easy to work in and the pantry had a nice supply of spices that saves you from buying random containers of things you have at home, but forgot to bring. Finally, the house had so many beautiful windows that allowed us to enjoy the fresh Cape air!

We enjoyed our time at Rebecca's during the last week of the summer -- a great time to get away because the Cape is generally quieter. Sunday to Sunday rentals also help in avoiding the worst traffic! Rebecca was very responsive with questions we had leading up to our stay and we enjoyed interacting with her. As in the description, the house is on top of a steep hill, which is a great advantage because Gull Pond Rd seems distant. You are completely in the trees. There's a deck off both the front and the back of the house, which is nice. Lots of wildlife (birds, deer). Having 2 bathrooms is great. The shed is stocked with beach chairs and an umbrella. It's good to not have to cart that kind of thing to the Cape! An outdoor shower is also a big plus, though beware, two bedrooms can see right in ;) I'd definitely recommend Rebecca's home to anyone without mobility issues!

We really enjoyed our stay at The House in the Trees. The location is very good... far enough away from the highway to minimize traffic noise and in close proximity to ponds and the ocean.

The outdoor shower is perfect after a day at the beach. Follow that up with a cocktail on the deck in the shade of the trees... very relaxing.

The house is exactly as described and the photos are current. The owners will warn you that the driveway is steep, parking is limited, and there are plenty of stairs. If you're OK with those things, then this is a good house to consider.

We had a great time at Rebecca's house! It's well designed for two families-- with each family taking a floor (each floor had a bathroom, a queen bed, and then either two twins or a double). The first floor was our main gathering area, with a wonderful open design so we could all make meals together and relax after a day at the ponds or beach. I especially appreciated that the TV was upstairs in a little viewing area (with comfortable couches, seating 4 adults), so our kids didn't just sit plugged in each night and morning (but we could still watch something when we wanted to). Instead, they would devise little plays and put them on for us after dinner while we enjoyed the beautiful sunset light in the main living area. The skylights and windows make for a beautiful, airy space.

I also appreciated the well-stocked pantry and shed (with beach chairs, noodles, umbrella).

The driveway is, as previous reviewers stated, very steep and must be approached with care. Once you get used to it, it's not a problem.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay. Rebecca is very responsive and super easy to work with-- one of the best host/landlords I've had on the Cape!

We rented for 2 weeks in July of 2017. It is a beautiful, large home in a terrific location. The amenities are as nice as advertised. I highly recommend this home for anyone interested in lovely Wellfleet.

Our family recently stayed at the Wellfleet house and absolutely loved our experience. There was enough room for 7 adults and 2 children. The house is fully stocked and well laid out for a family vacation. We were able to park 3 cars without much trouble. The driveway is steep and there are plenty of stairs, but everyone agreed that we would like to go back next year. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

It's hard to believe that's it's been nearly a week since we returned. We were lucky to have a beautiful week in the 70s, with only one day of rain. The house is one of the most completely and thoughtfully supplied and furnished we have ever rented. Paper goods, herbs and spices, sun tan lotion, cleaning supplies....anything and everything we needed.

The house is located at the top of a VERY steep driveway; after parking the car one must walk up a steep set of brick steps...clearly not an appropriate choice for anyone handicapped in any way, but worked fine for us. The location is not ideal, though workable, for people who want to do a lot of biking, as getting bikes up and down the driveway is a trial.

The views of the treetops from the many windows are wonderful, and there are two large decks. I don't think this house would be suitable for a family with young children who need to run around as there are no other flat areas, but for four adults and a seven year old, it was fine.
We were not fans of the old charcoal grill, which took a long time to heat up, and emitted clouds of black smoke.

The location, a short drive from Gull Pond and Newcomb Hollow Beach is ideal, along with easy access to the pleasures of downtown Wellfleet.

All in all, a wonderful house, well located, beautifully maintained, and fully stocked. Dealing with the owner with questions before we left was great; she was always helpful.

Wonderful house, and just right for our group (a family of 8, 3 generations): roomy and comfortable, with generous common spaces both indoors and out, beautifully equipped throughout with many thoughtful extra touches. We loved the ample private decks and the proximity to ponds and ocean beaches. A total success!

Great rustic cabin among the trees--airy, open space yet country home close to beaches, parks, great restaurants, and close enough to get to Provincetown for a day or evening. Outdoor shows is a bonus.

The home was exactly as described. However, the steep driveway is challenging and really room for only one car, even though Rebecca did tell us in advance that it is a steep driveway.

Would definitely recommend this getaway!

The house is spacious and very comfortable; the owners thought of everything to make our visit enjoyable. The house is secluded and nicely situated in the woods - just a short drive to the village of Wellfleet, it is also easy access to the beaches and ponds. We look forward to future visits.

We loved our stay at this lovely house. The house is comfortable and nicely furnished. The kitchen is well supplied with just about everything you need to cook and serve family meals. We've been to Wellfleet several times and love it. This home is a quick drive from Wellfleet center and the harbor. Its proximity to Gull Pond gave us our first experience swimming in the kettle ponds, which are perfect for kids.

Rebecca was very communicative and even let us extend our trip by a day.

I stayed at this house in late August with my family and friends (4 adults and 4 kids), and we absolutely loved it. This was our fifth year renting a house on the Cape, and this was our favorite house so far. We loved the spacious, well-designed layout, chalet-like interior, and huge windows with views of trees and sky. The location is great: near Gull Pond, Newcomb Hollow beach and Moby Dick's restaurant. Everything was clean and in good working order, and I would recommend this house to any group looking for a peaceful escape near Wellfleet.

I have been in Wellfleet 3 times before. The house I've rented before was very good. This time, the owners did not respond in a timely manner, and I spent significant time to search, compare prices, etc., for a decent house for a party of 7. So i can compare and will point out why you would be happy to have a very nice time in Wellfleet in Rebecca's house.

1. Location of the house: 3-4 minute drive to 2 beaches and same or less to 2 ponds. (Do not understand why the call them ponds. Supposed to be lakes.)
2. Neighborhood: Wellfleet is a very quiet and safe place by itself. But some of guests could listen to loud music or sometimes behave loudly. Rebecca's (owner) house is located more than 100 + yards from 2 more houses. You can barely see them through trees. So no noise or anything will prevent you from taking midday nap.
3. House: Very decent size clean, neat 4 bedrooms. 2 on 3 third floor have air conditioners. This is a big advantage if you prefer take midday nap not on outside patio but inside. Plus could be hot weather and you might want to use it night.
There is some device in basement that dehumidifies and cool off living area on first and second floors. Generous size living areas on floors 1 and 2 floors, with 2 more couches that allow 2 more guests to sleep comfortably. So party of 10 can be accommodated with not troubles. (not positive if it is allowed).
Kitchen has all necessary supplies, plates, cups, pots, cookware in any imaginable size. Plus they're not plastic cheap ones.
4. Owner communications: Maybe i'm lucky but so far all owners in different places I vacationed were nice, good people.
There was one exception though so I would like to point out that Rebecca was always clear, timely, and accurately responded to all e-mails and my questions. Sometimes her response came within minutes.
5. Extras: Outside summer shower, grill, 2 tables on patio (not one). I can continue on and on.

Conclusion
There are some choices to rent house in Wellfleet if you book in advance (4+ month in advance) -- size wise, location, prices (I got some discount as I booked more than 6 months in advance),etc. It would not be easy (I say impossible) to do better than Rebecca's house for all the amenities, location, and price. So do not hesitate to rent it. You would never regret it.

This house in the trees high above Gull Pond Road, up a steep driveway was the lovely setting for our wonderful family vacation this year. Rebecca and Skip have decorated this four bedroom, two bath home (and grand outdoor shower) beautifully with lovely artwork and furniture in a very aesthetically designed home on two and 1/2 levels. The kitchen was very well stocked with great dishes, pots and pans, glassware and silverware and kitchen tools, and had everything one could want (including spices!) in a well equipped kitchen. The two decks with nice outdoor furniture added to the overall comfort and ambiance. . The house is conveniently located to downtown (on the ocean side of Rte.6) and Newcomb Hollow Beach and Gull Pond. Rebecca was very responsive to any questions we had and was an excellent host and homeowner. We really appreciated the little amenities, such as soap, dish detergent and dishwasher detergent, extra paper towels, toilet paper, plastic bags, etc.provided for our use. We hope to be back in the future! Lynn

Five of us spent a wonderful week in Wellfleet with wonderful weather, which of course helps. We are aware that this house was purchased in the fall and that we were one of the first renters, and we were excited to see how well stocked it was with things that we usually purchase on our own (eg,, toilet paper, spices, etc). Rebecca was a delight to deal with, and very responsive when a thunderstorm impacted our electricity. The outside of the house was treated for mosquitoes, and it was extremely effective! This is the first time in 20 years that we were able to eat our dinner on the outdoor deck under the trees. The outdoor shower was also wonderful. Bedrooms are on the small side, but the living space was ample and open, and two decks meant more privacy if needed. The TV was in a separate area, which we also appreciated, since we don't use it much anyway. Cable and internet worked fine. The biggest challenge is that the house is set up a long and STEEP driveway, making maneuvering cars and getting out a challenge, but we made it work.

We just returned from a week at this home. The house is a hidden gem, a quiet and beautiful setting right off the road and nestled in the trees. The house itself is immaculate and well equipped. It's spacious, bright with lots of windows and very comfortable furnishings. Four lovely bedrooms, cozy couches, two bathrooms, outdoor shower, big kitchen and two nice decks, one in the front and one in the back. We especially loved the zero gravity lounge chairs. You'll have a perfect view of the sunset form both the living room and the decks. Rebecca, the landlord, is a pleasure to interact with. Five stars all around!
