We have owned this house for almost 30 years. We love it and have had many family reunions ourselves.
It is a special gathering place and Wellfleet affords such beauty, great art, food and fun.
We try to come year round but as most families- our lives are busy and we love traveling too so we don't always spend as much time as we want to at heronsdream.

What is special about this property?
This historic house was built in the late 1800's. We have had the home about 26 years. Our children have grown here and we have renters that have been coming as long as we have. The house is special -it is both cozy but expansive as multiple families can vacation together. Each of the 7 bedrooms is simple decorated shaker style. Main bedroom on third flour is a suite with bathroom, dormer and window seat and lots of light and a view of the marsh. There are many plants and wild bushes growing throughout the property- plenty of place to sit outside quietly or have the children (or adults) play croquet, lay on the hammock. We hope this summer to have a restored porch (inside) with new windows, fans and window seat- it was designed by my daughter and hope the historic commission approves it since the house falls under historic jurisdiction.
There is the feel of old cape cod as you walk down our street Cannon Hill named after a cannon was hid there. Walk also to PB Boulangerie or go to bike trail all is just across the road after a short walk.
Families write to us after their stay and write about the sweetness, comfort and joy the house adds to their vacation and time together..

What is special about your town?
Our house called ''Heronsdream'' since a little green heron circled around it when we purchased it over 26 years ago- is a haven and a respite from our busy lives. It is near many national seashore beaches. Lecount Hollow is the nearest 9 i mile away) and the others line along Ocean Ave. My favorite is Newcomb Hollow- easy access and beautiful landscape around it. Wellfleet has many treasured kettle ponds- Duck Pond is our jewel- on a sunny day the water looks like the turquoise of the Caribbean. Perfect for young children and also for swims across the pond for serious swimmers. Town of Wellfleet is full of art galleries, shops and restaurants. Of course Wellfleet is known for it's famous oyster- and that is tried and true. We love take out by the harbor and have a picnic near the harbor quiet and away from others. Best view in town.
