Description

Description

Your perfect retreat on the Outer Cape! Located in a quiet cottage colony tucked in the woods away from Route 6 with an almost entirely unpopulated bay beach at the end of the road (a walkable 7/10 of mile- we provide a wagon) and just 2.5 miles to a choice of multiple oceanside beaches. Make our favorite place your new favorite place :)

Lofted pine ceilings and ample windows provide a light filled space and a lovely sea breeze. The decor is coastal bohemian and features professional art showing local sites and wildlife.

Sea Star Cottage is T shaped, with spacious bedrooms on either side of the living space. The primary bedroom features a queen bed and the second bedroom features a twin over full bunk, all with luxuriously comfy memory foam mattresses. An instant fill queen air bed is also an option and fits in this bedroom, along with a portable crib for babes that you can set up comfortably in either room. We provide tons of additional items to make traveling with little ones easier, along with books and games for all ages.

The bathroom, of course, has a shower stall, but we encourage you to try the great cape tradition of an outdoor shower to complete your immersion in the local experience.

The kitchen is admittedly not huge, but it has an ample fridge, range, microwave, french press, and other small appliances and comes stocked with good knives, pots, pans, etc along with staple spices and olive oil to make cheffing up a meal a breeze. A large gas grill and picnic table are also provided for al fresco experiences.

Enjoy a sunny lounge on the private patio or porch, or relax in the hammock tucked amongst the trees. There is also a communal area down the hill from the cottage with a play ground, tennis/pickleball court, basketball hoop, corn hole and more.

Truro is more of a quiet, rural, artsy community where the 11! beaches are the true highlights. For more strolling, shopping and restaurants you can take a 12 minute drive in either direction to Wellfleet or Provincetown.

I am a hands-on host (if you desire), providing an extensive guidebook and happy to advise on any activities you may want to plan. My goal is to make your stay as easy and fun as possible. We do live offsite when the cottage is being rented out, but have a property management company and many local friends we can call upon should any issues come up.

We've been hosting for 9 years on Airbnb with nearly flawless reviews, but we are fed up with them and want to save our guests money so here we are!

Please be advised that this rental does not include sheets or towels, but we can help coordinate with an affordable linen rental service upon request. Prices listed are before occupancy taxes.

The perfect location for my family. The location is perfect. So close to many great beaches and great food.
I traveled here with it 20 month old, husband and in-laws and it was the perfect space for all of us. The well equipped kitchen made cooking easy and fridge held all our groceries.
It even came with a booster for my babe, indoor toys, books, and beach toys.
Sarah was quick to respond and very helpful with so many suggestions. A true pro of the area and things to do. We will be back for sure! show more show less

Sarah's cottage was just as cute as the pictures showed. It's a quintessential cape cottage- all the charm but with lots of updated amenities.
Sarah was a friendly and communicative host.
The location is fantastic for beach access!

We absolutely loved our stay. Sarah is a perfect host. Really kind and helpful with advice about the area.
We have 2 young children and appreciated having toys the girls could play with.
The accommodation is really comfortable and has everything you need.
The location is ideal for visiting Provincetown and the outer cape.
I'd highly recommend staying here. We loved it!

Adorable cottage in a great location
    March 2025

The perfect cottage and location for adventure and relaxation! My husband, kids and I enjoyed walks to the beach, exploring trails, a bike ride from Race Point to Provincetown for lunch, and great food and restaurants! Our stay at the cottage was quiet and comfortable and Sarah was a wonderful, attentive host!

    Hi everyone, I'm Sarah.
My background is in marine biology and I landed in the area with my husband initially to film whale watches and lead trips as a researcher and educator.

We are still big whale nerds, but have fallen in love with everything about the outer cape. It's wild, shockingly beautiful and populated by amazing people.

I still work as an outdoor educator and private tutor, but devote the bulk of my time to raising our 3 children.

My other interests include travel - especially to witness natural phenomena, scuba diving, photography, watching live music and theatre, beach bonfires and volunteering in my community.

I enjoy hosting (formerly 9 years Airbnb Super Host) because it's just too good not to share. We simply can't be on the cape all the time, so we want others to be able to enjoy this place that we love.

We try to keep it affordable compared to the hotels and many of our neighbors so that average folks like us can afford a magical beach getaway.

While we gear our listing towards families since we have young kids and leave helpful gear to make parent's lives easier, we've happily welcomed girls' weekenders, wedding attendees and vendors, pairs of couples on getaways, artists on retreat and honeymooners. We even had an engagement occur in our cottage and they returned years later with their child.
    It's fun knowing that

What is special about this property?
Sea Star Cottage has been our base for enjoying it all for the past 10 years. It's comfortably housed us as our family expanded by 3.

If you choose to stay at our cottage we hope that you can feel all the love it's full of and make many of your own happy memories there.

We love that it's quiet and tucked away and impossibly close to the most gorgeous beaches on Earth. Our road leads right to Great Hollow Beach which offers sweeping vistas of Cape Cod Bay and Provincetown Harbor and no crowds. Spring may afford sighting of incredibly rare North Atlantic Right Whales and huge gatherings of loons prior to migration. Year round this is an epic sunset spot!

We also enjoy the ease with which we can decide to pop into P-town to hop on a boat, grab a meal, enjoy street performers, or walk the jetty. Wellfleet is equally close and offers a quieter vibe with some great shops and restaurants. And, of course, oysters!

What is special about your town?
Truro is the most rural town on the cape. It's still home to numerous small family farms and a lovely seasonal farmers market.

Truro boasts 11 of its own beaches, plus Head of the Meadow, an expansive stretch managed by the National Seashore. High Head lies right on the border with Provincetown and is a gray seal hot spot in summer.

Truro is situated at the highest point of the whole cape, marking the end of the original glacial formation. This means the beaches have massive dunes and nearly endless views.

Talk a walk in Thoreau's footsteps through the enchanted pine forest, pick wild blueberries and cranberries, and get lost in nature.

Highland Lighthouse, among the oldest in the nation, is here in Truro, looking straight out across the Atlantic to Portugal. You can climb the lighthouse several days a week in summer. The same location houses a museum and 9 hole golf course overlooking the ocean.

The Pamet River is an unspoiled tidal waterway that nearly bisects Truro, ending just shy of Ballston Beach. It's a wonderful place to investigate by kayak.

Truro also has a vibrant visual arts community, anchored by Castle Hill Center for the Arts. Take a look around and you'll see where all the inspiration comes from!

For live music, Payomet Performing Art Center can not be beat. From new acts to living legends, you can't miss with a show in the music tent which holds just 800 people. Artists are often open to interacting with fans in this intimate environment.
