A rustic cottage converted from an artist's studio featuring exposed beams and boards salvaged from historic local salt works. The tranquil outdoor spaces, simple but well stocked interior, and historic setting make this an ideal retreat - all within a short walk to Fisher Beach on the bay, one of Truro's best kept secrets.

An open design, the main living area includes a small but functional kitchenette with a 2 burner cook top and convection oven, and dining area overlooked by a loft space with windows in the peak bringing in lots of light and an openness that makes the space live larger. First floor sleeping area is tucked in under the loft behind the closet and staircase creating privacy. A sliding glass door in the bedroom provides great exterior access, lots of light and fresh air (with light darkening curtains if you want to sleep in). A small deck off the bedroom is a quiet place to enjoy the morning sun with a cup of coffee. The simple bathroom includes a new shower and lots of storage. Concrete floors throughout enhance the rustic industrial vibe of the cottage and make cleaning up beach sand easy.

The cottage is cozy and quaint but includes just about everything needed for a beach vacation including use of a gas grill with outdoor dining at an expandable table with umbrella, hot and cold outdoor shower, and padded chaise lounge chairs, providing a great place for curling up with a good book. Truly a getaway - no internet access (sorry NO WIFI) or land-line phone (but good cell reception). WiFi is available in nearby Truro Center. Extended season cottage with linens, beach towels and chairs, this is a perfect escape for a single or couples, with room for an overnight guest.

The sloping traditional Cape lawn is surrounded by pine, oak and locust forest, with perimeter gardens. This creates a private and tranquil setting. The quiet, even in summer, just melts stress away. Yet we are only minutes from Wellfleet or the excitement of Provincetown.

Half mile to Fisher Beach on the bay, a little further to Pamet Harbor, in a relaxing, peaceful setting. Bring your bikes - a lovely ride to downtown Wellfleet along wetlands or via Rte 6. And don't forget your kayak, canoe or paddleboard - nearby Fisher Beach and Pamet Harbor offer excellent opportunities for recreational enjoyment. The cottage and setting offer the epitome of peace and tranquility. Truro is a unique blend of peace and recreation.

We are also on the Hopper tour, as ours was one of the homes he painted. Edward and Josephine Hopper used to play cards in the main home with my grandparents. The main home is immediately adjacent to the cottage, but unfortunately we aren't often in residence except for the occasional weekend - leaving guests to usually enjoy the property all on their own. read more show less
