    Peaceful, private, beautfiul

While we originally booked this house for a week in late June expecting a handful of family members to join, we were more than happy to have the entire place to ourselves! The bright and sunny open living room/dining room/kitchen, with views out to the horizon, was a perfect perch for reading, and the wrap around decks offered multiple opportunities for sun and shade throughout the day.

The bedrooms are all well spaced and private, and the downstairs family room stays cool and comfortable even on hot days. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking at home, and Jams Market, a farm stand and a liquor store are a few minutes away by car. The walk to the Ballston Beach was a little long -- and probably not great for kids -- but it is a very quick drive.

All in all, an excellent, relaxing getaway we hope to visit again.

Thank you for good review. I sense you have understood the essence of Bird's Nest. Lots of light and open space upstairs and a cooler lower level.

A lovely home in Truro, convenient location

After vacationing in Wellfleet for many years, we decided it was time to try something new, and we are extremely glad we did. This house is perfect- large; comfortable; private; and conveniently located to numerous bay and ocean beaches. Easy access to rt 6, but not too close. The kitchen is very well stocked, the deck huge and relaxing. Two living areas and four bedrooms accommodate a large family easily. This is a great place. Communication with owner was outstanding. The view from the deck was peaceful and private, and the stars at night were beautiful. A sight we never see anymore at home. The house was very clean and we appreciate the extra communication and sanitation done during this time of Covid19. show more show less

    Spacious, comfortable, private and airy

Our family had a terrific stay in Bird's Nest this September. The living space has a wonderful feel to it with tons of light regardless of the weather. The kitchen is well-equipped overall and the bedrooms are all reasonably spacious and bright. The setting on top of the hill with treetop views over the Pamet marshlands was very pleasant and private. John the owner and Sarah the caretaker were very responsive to any needs, questions or suggestions. It is clear the property is well-loved. We would absolutely recommend the home highly and hope to return! show more show less

Having spent most of my summers in Truro growing up, this family vacation home is very special to my wife and I. We'd love to share its magic with you. I now live in France where I run private cycling tours and events.

What is special about this property?
The private, serene hilltop overlook gives the sensation of being up in the air. The soft breezes whispering through the pine trees. Stunning views of the Cape Cod natural seashore. The soft natural light. Relaxing in the hammock. A right-sized home, great for being alone, reading or cooking…yet also perfect sharing a cozy gathering with family and friends. The ability to access bay and ocean beaches, and Truro town, without travelling on crowded Rt. 6!

My family built this house nearly 50 years ago as a summer home when they owned a clothing store on Main Street in Wellfleet. We still get together at the house most summers, and even sometimes during the wonderful off season.

What is special about your town?
Truro and the outer Cape are wonderful thanks to the abundant natural surroundings and the Cape Cod National Seashore. Well preserved thanks to the National seashore. Morning sunrise over the ocean and sunset over the bay.
