I built this house, from the ground up, starting in 1975. I have offered it for rent for the past 40+ summers, mostly to a group or person for the entirety of the summer, but occasionally on a weekly basis. I also live in Truro, nearby. I was born, and raised in Provincetown, but have doe a bit of travelling, worldwide. If you prefer to speak Spanish, I can do that (Sí usted prefiere hablar el español, yo puedo hacerlo). And my wife will communicate with you in French (!@#$%....I will leave that to her). I am looking forward to meeting with you, and I hope to help you to enjoy your stay here!
What is special about this property?
The house is surrounded by woods, so that there is very little visibility of other buildings. This does give it a secluded and private feeling; and it is very quiet. The accommodation itself is all on one floor, except for the clothes washer and dryer, which are in the basement. If one wants to give one´s clothing a fresh-air scent, there is a clothes line outside, which really does give the clothing a sweet, fresh, piney smell, due perhaps to the seaside air and the abundant pine trees. Don´t be surprised if some wild turkeys walk through the yard!
What is special about your town?
Truro is know for its wooded open spaces, its beautiful beaches, and its quiet, rural quality. There is also a museum and golf course. One can hire a boat and fishing expedition. One can visit or take courses at Castle Hill Center for the Arts. One can visit the local winery, where they grow their own grapes. There are various entertaining events that happen at the Truro Public Library. If one wants more hustle and bustle, one can do the 10 minute drive to Cape Cod´s bohemian capitol, Provincetown, which has whale-watching, art galleries, restaurants, shops galor, and plenty of excentrics who want to see and be seen. Or try Wellfleet, which has world-class oysters and lobsters, plenty of art galleries and restaurants, all within easy walking distance.
