Light-Filled Cape Cod House Surrounded by Water

We have rented here for the past two years, and each time it was a perfect experience. The house is large and just swallows up people, inside and out, so you are never on top of one another. It is beautifully, and comfortably, furnished, in a way that feels like a home, not a rental. The kitchen is fully equipped (so many ways to make coffee!) and well-laid out. It has a little office, which came in handy this year. We brought my wife's 90-year father and set him up in the master bedroom, which he loved. We were glad to have the elevator to the second floor, just in case, though he didn't end up needing it. The grounds are meticulously cared for and, like the house, have many different places to chill - on your own, looking over the marsh, or resting in the hammock, or on the two balconies, or with a group, on the back porch or in the fire pit/bocce court/corn hole area. My brother-in-law was able to bring his dog for the two nights he stayed, which made things easy for him. As a birder, I loved the fully stocked feeders that attracted a steady stream of birds. Kayaking is great in the marsh - we brought our two and also used the two that are in the garage; just be aware of the tides.

I could go on, but will wrap up by saying that you could not ask for more from a host - Don is warm and friendly, incredibly responsive, and clearly wants everyone to enjoy the house as much as he does!

We had a wonderful time. The house is large and beautifully decorated. The owners are responsive and thoughtful, providing everything a guest could want. The area feels secluded but is close to everything. Our family enjoyed tubing, biking, walking, bocce, visiting breweries and restaurants, antiquing and just relaxing on the deck with a lovely view of the marsh.

This place is indeed a light-filled house surrounded by water! There are stunning views out of almost every window. You can watch the kayaks go by from the deck and see the ocean beyond the marsh.

We have thoroughly enjoyed two vacations here with our two daughters, sons-in-law and three grandchildren ages 4 and under. We can't wait to go back next year! The house is beautifully decorated and has tons of space for all our needs. The house has every amenity you could need or want, including binoculars and a telescope, and if you have a dog, you'll love the fenced in doggie yard, doggie dishes and lots of designated doggie towels.

Don keeps everything in excellent shape and keeps a book for you with everything you need to know. He's a terrific host, answering all your questions and responding to your needs promptly. Even though the boardwalk had been very attractive to us when we first rented the property, we enjoyed our stay just as much this year, after part of the boardwalk got washed away in a blizzard, as Don provided weekly beach parking passes. We cannot recommend this property more highly.

We had grand plans for visiting gardens, museums, etc., when we stayed the week in Sandwich but we couldn't tear ourselves away from the house and its views. We also thought we would miss the boardwalk access to the beach but we forgot about that as soon as we stepped foot on the property.

Not sure where to begin with the accolades so just diving in:
- Easy communication with Don, who was always responsive and always generous
- Beautifully decorated home, comfortable and equipped with every last thing you might ever need
- Squeaky clean
- Views, somehow better than the photos suggest! Changing skies, marsh, ocean beyond, every day was something different and more beautiful than before, even the two rainy mornings were gorgeous
- The two bikes were great for exploring the super cute neighborhood (we didn't get a chance to use the kayaks)
- Daily croquet and bocce matches, a delight
- Birdwatching, a delight
- Nightly glass of wine around the fire pit, a delight
- Lovely landscaping but also lots of natural cape cod beauty, we sat in every cute seating area they had and loved each
- We were five adults and a corgi and the place was more than enough space
- Loved the outdoor shower, the selection of books/games/puzzles, cooking in the large kitchen (appreciated the herb garden!), lounging on the decks
- So close to everything—beach, canal, great food, great coffee, sweet historic area, Treehouse Brewery
