Description

1700 ft2 south facing luminous house. Enjoy 10 foot ceilings in a large uncluttered living and dining room facing the water. Hardwood floors throughout. Sun reflects off an aqua colored fir deck subtly tinting the ceilings and exposed joists. Two waterbase mobile umbrellas.

3 bedrooms, 1 queen, 1 full, 2 twin beds. Downstairs bathroom has a shower, upstairs has a clawfoot tub with shower riser. Modern kitchen faces a small garden, and has a stainless steel sink, new refrigerator, and electric range. Electric heat, fully insulated. High speed internet. Weber Spirit C-210 grill. Happy to share additional photos.

Swim and kayak from your deck during high tide, walk on the sandflats into town or to Truro when the tide is low. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Provincetown Bay is warmer than the ocean beaches. Bike, birdwatch, whalewatch, visit art galleries without getting into your car.

A lovely beach home, perfectly situated

This is a lovely beach home, perfectly situated on the bay in historic Provincetown. From the ample and well-maintained deck, the while town spreads out before you. We have vacationed in this special part of Provincetown for more than 50 years and have rented this house for the last four or five years now. It's a charming and comfortable place, bright, airy and clean. The kitchen includes everything one might need, because it's really the owner's home. The washer-dryer is a big help and the dishwasher works well too. We love staying here and hope to repeat for many more years. It's a very special place. show more show less

    Wonderful Beach Home

Wonderful "beach house" in a great location. Just the prettiest sunsets! Very quiet at night. A nice walk to town. Sleeps 6 comfortably. Place was spotless upon arrival. Full tank of gas for the brand new outdoor grille. Window views and beach deck are just great. Gardener came to care for the flowers and landscape while we were there. Had a very small problem with the shower drain and the owner responded immediately. Very professional and responsible. We rented again for this year. Everyone in our family felt the same. (Easy bike ride to town and a longer, nice walk after dinner...) show more show less

    Beautiful house with stunning views

What a wonderful house, located on Commercial St., easy walking distance to downtown but set far enough down Commercial St. that it's quiet and peaceful. The views are spectacular: the house is set on the bay; you walk out onto a deck and then onto the beach, or gaze out to the Provincetown Monument at night. The house is immaculate and very well equipped for cooking and relaxing. Can't wait to return.

    beautiful, fun location

If watching the ocean change hour to hour is as mesmerizing and therapeutic for you as it is for me, this is the spot to vacation. Simple clean surroundings in a glorious restful location, with a lovely mile walk into lively Provincetown proper. Don't miss the dune walk at the end of Snail Road if you want additional stunning views and a more remote beach frequently visited by seals (about a 45 minute hike). The house is well-maintained and the owner very responsive if any problems come up. We have returned year after year. show more show less

This Provincetown home has been our cherished summer getaway for many years. The pictures in the listing provide an accurate sense of the stunningly beautiful location right on the water and the simple, clean, space in which to enjoy it. Lori is meticulous and responsive about keeping the property in good condition and loves having tenants who love it as much as she does. We’ve rented for at least a week every summer, so our children have grown up thinking of this house as their special place. We have so many fond family memories of the house and the location: walking along our quiet bay beach the mile into lively Ptown center, seeing seals off the ocean beach at the end of the nearby dune walk, star-watching on the deck, falling asleep to the sound of the ocean, making new friends among the many summer visitors (somehow other kids just the right ages always showed up), wind-surfing and board-surfing lessons in Wellfleet, grilled fish for dinner (purchased at a local store) served on the deck, or eating out at one of the many local restaurants. Plan to stroll in to town to work up your appetite and try one of our favorite spots: Curried Chicken at the Squealing Pig, Saki for excellent Japanese, or more elegant fare with beachfront dining at The Mews. We can’t say enough about how much we love this place. show more show less

It's a great location for me since it's near my family, but also it's at the beginning of town so it's very quiet. I love being in a beautiful spot right on the water but if I want some action or have errands it's not far to walk or drive into town. The house has wonderful windows facing the water for a beautiful view. There's a lot of room downstairs with the open living room and dining room - a comfortable place to hang out and enjoy it all. It has everything that I would want with a washing machine and dryer, internet access, television (which the neighbors like to come watch!), heat if it gets cold, a great kitchen, two bathrooms as well as being a few feet up from the street which makes it seem a little set off. The deck is great and there's also a sandy yard before the stairs to the beach. One of the bedrooms has a bed right next to the windows that look onto the water as well as toward downtown. It's a very comfortable home and I always feel very lucky when I've had a chance to stay there. show more show less

655 is a family home for me. I rent it to keep it available for many to enjoy.

What is special about this property?
The easy connection both to nature and to the town.

Being able to see the sun rise and set from your south facing windows. Seeing the tides ebb and flow and the sea creatures they bring with them. Seeing seagull rush hour at sunset, as they fly west for the evening. Watching the boats go by.

Being able to walk or bike easily into town for art galleries, museums, and ice cream. Being able walk or bike out to the dunes, -where you can pick cranberries in the fall, or keep on going on snail road to the ocean side to see the seals. Or head south on route 6A to Truro Vineyards and into Wellfleet.

Experiencing the town from the bay side, -neighbors walking, the occasional rider on horseback at low tide, kayakers, sailors and sailboarders, swimmers and boaters.

What is special about your town?
Variety! A combination of history, art and nature.
Culture: Art to buy and to see, nightlife, restaurants, theatre, music.
Nature and Sports: Whale watching, National Seashore walks, Dune walks, bike paths on the dunes. Biking in town and to and on other parts of the Cape, fishing, swimming, tennis,

Comforts of a town: Two health clubs, a grocery store in town, two well equipped healthcare facilities in town.
