OCEANFRONT TIMBERFRAME COTTAGE
from our most recent guests, October 8-15:
''We have had a wonderful week and absolutely love everything about this house! We really appreciate all the work and attention to detail that went into making this home so special. It far surpassed our expectations!

DESCRIPTION:
Oceanfront Timberframe Cottage is magical. It has earned a hundred 5-star reviews (found on the Verbo site we used for many years.)

This charming LARGE home has vaulted 14-foot beamed ceilings, mahogany countertops, a stone fireplace, wide pine floors, and a spacious great room/kitchen. Oceanfront Timberframe Cottage is cloistered in a seaside setting just a few miles from downtown Plymouth -- with easy access to sightseeing, whale-watching, deep sea fishing, antiquing, boutiques, golf, historic homes, beachcombing, and swimming.

From the breezeway, you take in the breathtaking view. At night you can see the twinkling lights of Plymouth, the beacon from the Gurnet lighthouse across Plymouth Bay, and the outer arm of Cape Cod on the eastern horizon.
Stepping inside, you enter the Great Room with its stone fireplace, timber trusses, barn-wood ceiling, and wall of glass looking out on the ocean. Decorated with white slip-covered furniture, the Great Room has wide pine floors antique cupboards with mirror doors reflecting the ocean. The kitchen runs the length of the Great Room and has a 14-foot long mahogany-top island, 2 under mount sinks/Grohe faucets, a Dish-Drawer dishwasher, induction cooktops, Miele convection oven allowing the cook (or master of canapes and wine) to be part of the family gathering while enjoying the wraparound view.  The gas fireplace is flanked with antique Ottoman doors, brought back from Cyprus. Just off the Great Room is a raised queen bed sleeping alcove w a queen-size 4-poster British West Indies bed. The high windows let you peer at starlight high above the Atlantic. The bedroom's French doors open onto the wraparound mahogany deck — the outdoor shower has lighthouse views.

This handsomely renovated cottage has three full (shower) baths. One has a mahogany countertop, marble shower with pebble floor, and skylights above the shower and +toilet. Another has a 9-foot white-marble countertop, large Kohler shower (with grab-bar and optional seat), and skylights and windows overlooking the ocean bluff. The third, on the lower level, has a 4-foot shower, and a separate toilet alcove.

The open floor plan offers flexibility for those with just 2 couples wanting space and luxury, or larger families with children spilling into the spacious lower level with its own full shower bath, tv area, and laundry.

We provide abundantly for your comfort and convenience at the house: Nice bed linens, towels, beach towels, laundry supplies, a well-stocked kitchen with spices, oil, condiments, and baking needs, an ice-maker, Miele convection oven, induction cooktops (so you can move them and cook facing the ocean) quality pots and pans and dishes, quality wine glasses and glassware, silverware, etc, paper goods, air-conditioning, two gas fireplaces, quality Weber gas grill with propane. Plymouth Long Beach is just 2 miles away.

A hundred years ago, the neighborhood was the elaborate Stone Estate, a magnificent spread with mansion, stables, a gardener's cottage, caretaker's cottage, pool house with saltwater pool, polo fields with stone ramparts, and a guest house modeled after the tea house at Versailles.

Downtown Plymouth has great restaurants, a lively music scene, and interesting shops, pubs, and parks. Nearby are Plimoth/Pawtuxet (formerly Plimouth Plantation), which is like a trip in a time machine, Plymouth Rock, whale watching, historic homes, and many other attractions. You can take day trips to Boston, the Mansions of Newport, and or drive down the Cape, and from there take the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket. A summer ferry also connects Plymouth and Provincetown, avoiding a long car trip.

    Just WOW!

This was such a pleasant surprise. The pictures don't do is justice. The space is perfect for 3 couples. We have 3 couples all over 50 and the house was perfect. The views are amazing, the fire pit was a blast and most of all there is nothing that is not already in the house if you need it. Check in and out was easy and Robin was a pleasure to work with. We are telling all our friends about this amazing house. The home was spotless, well maintained and very user friendly. If you want an amazing view, great yard to hang in and just serenity this is your place. The outdoor shower was a pleasant surprise :O) show more show less

    Love this Beach house

I went with my family to this home. We arrived and the lights were on and it was warm and toasty and we enjoyed the view of the ocean and the sound of the waves. Even in November is was amazing. We went for walks on the beach (1.5 miles away) and played games and had a turkey dinner.
Robin was helpful when we were learning how to use the oven and items and a pleasure.

    Owner Response:

Thanksgiving, we went all-out to make sure our guests had every possible Thanksgiving need satisfied: extra serving dishes, a pot of fresh herbs on the counter for picking and cooking, made sure the antique spice cabinet was overflowing with every spice a guest could imagine, along with olive oil, special salt, and so much more. Thanksgiving is an important family holiday and we always go to extra effort to make sure our guests are thrilled with their stay and the provisions we've given them. Not everyone has a way with words, but we are thankful for every happy guest!show moreshow less

    TimberFrame Cottage, Plymouth, Mass

We had an absolutely fab time in the amazing TimberFrame Cottage, Plymouth. A great location for The Cape and not far from Boston. We just didn't want to leave. Cottage fitted out with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Robin super-easy to contact and answered any queries we had. Very helpful. Cannot recommend this place highly enough."

    Lovely Winter Retreat

Timberframe Cottage was the perfect retreat for our family. We needed a place to get away and reconnect and this house totally fit the bill. The views were amazing and the cottage was completely stocked with every kitchen item you could imagine. We cooked, snuggled by the fire and played games. I can only imagine how amazing this property must be in the warmer months.

    Perfect in every way!

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend a week at this amazing property. For us, this home was completely perfect! The home itself is beautiful with amazing personal touches (my husband is still going on about the doors) that make you feel at home the minute you step inside. The view of the ocean from every room was stunning. There are homes close by but thanks to wonderful landscaping and a very quiet neighborhood we felt completely secluded from the world. I must also point out that this was the most well stocked home I have ever stayed in. It was so nice to only have to make one trip to the grocery for food and not have to worry about the basics (paper towels, condiments, seasoning, etc).

The home is a very conveniently located. It was only a short drive to Plymouth where we spent time wandering around the harbor and Main street finding friendly shops and fabulous restaurants. It is even a shorter drive to the very dog friendly Plymouth beach where we spent a wonderful afternoon with our four legged children. It is less than an hour to the Cape where you can catch the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and if you are so inclined, it is only 1.5 hrs to Salem for a little something different.

My husband and I travel whenever we can and have been to some fabulous places but, he and I both agreed we are going to try to make this home a yearly trip and bring more family with us in the future. Thank you so much Robin for opening your home to us!!

    Hidden Gem!

Our family (including 2 adult sons and 18-month old mini-golden doodle) spent five glorious days at Timberframe Cottage in late September. Can't say enough about this gem of a property that is set back and partially hidden from the road. Once in the house we were greeted with spectacular ocean views from almost every window, pristine clean, well-appointed and comfortable furnishings, and a great kitchen for serious cooks.

The outdoor space was just as wonderful and perfect for our active puppy! Thoroughly enjoyed meals on the spacious deck looking out on the water, reading/sleeping in the hammock, and family happy hours at the end of each day sitting around the in-ground fire pit watching the sun set. The homeowners were wonderful - committed to making sure we had everything we needed. We are only sorry we didn't book for a longer stay but plan to return next summer! show more show less

    Spectacular! Don't Miss it!!!

I was looking for a very special place to secretly celebrate my husband's 65th birthday. We normally head up to the coast of Maine but I thought It would be nice to stay closer to home to avoid the travel time. I found this home and reached out to Robin, the owner, and booked it for a weekend. Our best friends were joining us on Saturday. So exciting. So we are driving down and my husband is getting very curious as we visit Plymouth quite frequently. When I pulled in the driveway, our mouths fell open. The water views are astonishing. Now, it is a rainy, windy day and when we opened the doors, the gas fireplace was lit and all the of the lights were warmly lit. We were planning on going out to dinner but we ended up getting a bite to eat and rushing home to this paradise.

This home is exquisite. There isn't anything you could want for. All of the best amenities are included BUT what you don't expect is all of the finest details. The antique doors were amazing. The little touches of embroidery made my 'soul sing." The lighthouse views made me realize how lucky we are to live by the ocean and made me want to read a great book. The "snow drop" perennials were just popping up and I can only imagine how lovely the landscaping will be in the summer. The fire pit is to die for. All the while you feel like you are "home." Our friends absolutely love it as much as we did and we kept saying "why go to the Cape when you have this?" This home is unbelievable. You have to see it to appreciate it. Just magical!
