Loved the nostalgic feel of this Old Sea Captain's home. Awesome location, close to everything. Very serene and peaceful. Property was well maintained, owners were very accommodating. I thought it was very sweet of them to leave fresh flowers for us upon our arrival. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kids told us they would rather take a trip to this home on the water, than go to an amusement park. All had a great time kayaking and enjoying the scenery... We will definitely be back!!

This home had some advantages in that it was right on a salt pond with wonderful views and kayaking, and near many lakes and beaches. Unfortunately, the interior leaves much to be desired. The house is old, that is fine, but the furniture is so old that the drawers don't open, there are wicker chairs in the small TV room, making it most uncomfortable to spend time there, the larger room has a table filling it, so that there is no place to really hang out in the house. There are plenty of bedrooms, but if you have 8 or more people there, it is not convenient to use the small kitchen. The drawers and cupboards in the kitchen stick and the whole interior paint job leaves much to be desired. The closet in one bedroom was a cloth one, completely ripped on one side. Windows were hard to open and close. This could be a lovely rental if the interior were updated (keeping the 1700's feel). show more show less
