Restful Haven on a Salt Marsh and Pleasant Bay

Our two-week stay at this well-maintained, clean, private cottage was just perfect. The view of the bay, the gardens, the quiet setting, the patio, and, above all, the wonderfully helpful and friendly hosts made for a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. We would return in a heartbeat.

I stayed here with friends - 3 adults and two small children. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and definitely plan to return. Michelle was wonderful to work with, very accommodating and welcoming.

Pros - WONDERFUL view from the deck, restful, very quiet and peaceful location. Our kids were probably the loudest thing within miles. Very comfortable beds, nice open floor plan living room/dining room. Spacious deck with good deck furniture. Really nice landcaping all around. />
Cons - not much. Its more of a cottage than a house - no washer/dryer or dishwasher, limited space in kitchen for cooking (though nicely set up with plenty of dishes and pots/pans etc). But who cares? We didn't come there to cook.

All in all it had everything we needed and was just a perfect place to stay. One of the best vacations I have taken. show more show less

My husband and I found Michelle and Philip's house rental several years ago, and it has become our regular place to stay on Cape Cod. The house is very comfortable and fully equipped.

The views of the adjacent salt marshes and Pleasant Bay are breathtaking. We enjoy a wonderful relaxing or sometimes busy daily routine in this quiet place. We wander the marsh bird watching, stroll the interesting gardens on the property, fish, put our kayaks in the bay, swim at their beach and enjoy it all. A short distance away is Orleans with shopping, entertainment and excellent restaurants. Chatham and Wellfleet and known for their beaches, and the National Seashore, art galleries and shopping are also close by. This location has it all.

This cottage was an excellent home base for our week on the Cape this August. It would be perfect for a small family or group of friends looking for a no frills rental in a convenient location. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood on Pleasant Bay and is only a short drive to downtown Orleans for groceries and other supplies. It is very close to Nauset Beach and not far from the Cape Cod National Seashore beaches further north. We loved the views of the marsh from the dining table and patio and especially enjoyed the beautiful landscaping all around the property. The house does not have wifi and my cell signal was quite weak, so prepare to be "off the grid." This was my first time renting a house on the Cape, and working with Michelle and Phillip was a breeze. They provided ample information up front and were extremely flexible about our arrival time. If I could enter more than five stars, I would. I am writing as a repeat renter, whose family could no longer imagine a year without a few relaxing weeks spent in this charming cottage. We are four adults and two children, or sometimes just two retirees. Watching the sun rise on Little Pleasant Bay from the dining room table or the deck as I sip my coffee is a daily highlight for me. My grandkids would without a doubt say they most love the many bird feeders and the endless treasures they find each year in the shallow salt marsh. My husband loves being able to easily launch his kayak from the nearby beach, too. This cozy cottage is tastefully decorated and the bedrooms are spacious. It is always spotless. I love to cook, so I find the well equipped kitchen a joy. Although the cottage is a quick drive to restaurants, Nauset Beach and shopping, the atmosphere is peaceful and quiet. and the landscaping is lovely. Philip and Michelle have been renting for years and definitely know how to do it right. show more show less
