Relax at this unique and tranquil escape. Our small but charming one bedroom cottage offers a compact kitchen and a small full bath. A true antique from 1850, the unit is updated but remains quintessential Old Cape Cod. Private yard, outdoor shower, fire pit, laundry, and access to Arey’s Pond 350 yds down private path. A pet friendly getaway for a couple looking to relax in an ideal Orleans location. Close to Nauset Beach, Orleans, Chatham, shops & great dining. A super place to vacation.

The Property
Very cute King bedroom studio cottage. Cottage has the smallest and cutest bathroom ever, a small galley kitchen, but with plenty of room to make morning coffee, prepare breakfast, or cook dinner. The kitchen has received some aesthetic updates for 2025 in the form of newly painted and lined cabinets. There is a 350yd walk to Arey’s Pond, and deeded access via a private path. Walk around back for access to full laundry in the basement. There is a weber propane barbecue grill and a fire pit in the private fully fenced yard, as well as a refreshing outdoor shower. For 2025 we have added more fence and gates at the cottage so it will be completely fenced to contain dogs, and the lawn has been leveled and a retaining wall built to increase the size and enjoyability of the private yard. A new patio table and chairs have also been added.

Guest Access
Guests have exclusive access to the cottage and access to Arey’s Pond. The property has another rental, a 3 BR main house - See Listing #40012. This unit has privacy and is separated by a new board fence. There are some common areas outdoors as well.

Cottage has a beautiful new outdoor shower as well. There is a separate private yard with a firepit, grill, and plenty of room outside to sit and relax!! The path to Arey’s Pond is between 350 and 400 yds long from the house to the water’s edge. It is not a beach per se but does allow direct saltwater access for boating, paddle boarding and kayaking. The owners live nearby and have a boat and a mooring so there may be a possibility to arrange a boat ride if you’d like to see the area from the water. Feel free to reach out and ask questions!

Other Details
There is a very friendly yellow lab at the neighboring property, and he may stop by to say “hello”! Please let us know if you do not want to see him.

    I have been living on the Lower Cape almost continuously since early childhood. I am an avid fisherman and I love golf. I lived in East Harwich since 2002 and now in South Orleans since 2019. I'm happy to share any information about the area, things to do, places to eat, etc. or to help you enjoy your visit in any way possible. I own Cape Cod Daily Deal and run a small web development company in North Chatham that's been operating since 1998.

    What is special about this property?
    This home is a true Cape Cod Antique. It is carefully and painstakingly updated to provide all the modern amenities but while retaining the classic old-time Cape Cod elegance and charm.

    What is special about your town?
    Orleans is the 4th Lower Cape town in which I have lived. I've been in Chatham where I grew up, Brewster where I spent about 6 years renting, and East Harwich where I lived for 19 years. Now Siobhan and I have been in Orleans for about 5 years and I must say Orleans is my favorite town so far, by far! From beach access and proximity to the Outer Cape to the waterways, recreation, conservation land, to all the town of Orleans has to offer in terms of dining and entertainment, Orleans is a great spot. Not to mention the property is still just 10 minutes from downtown Chatham, the Harwiches, and Brewster as well.
