Description

Description

This quaint, 4-bedroom home with three full bathrooms is quintessential Cape Cod. It's simple and private, beautiful, and has a private beach with a boathouse (partial use). DIRECTLY ON THE WATER. The view from the house is down a lovely meadow, approximately 60 feet to the beach. Beyond that, your view is of Hog and Sampson islands and Nauset Beach in the distance. You can see and hear the surf when it's high and the wind is from the east.

The house is about 2.5 miles from the village of Orleans, where you'll find a variety of nice restaurants and many shops. Nauset Beach is approximately three miles away and is one of the best surf beaches on the East Coast. The village of Chatham is less than 10 miles away, and Provincetown is about 20 miles. This house is incredibly private, but within 30 minutes of several great destinations.

    Wow! What a magical spot!

We are so impressed with this charming, spotless and completely private house/beach. This location has everything needed for a memorable getaway, one that does not require dealing with the infamous traffic on the Cape. From this property you can easily access local attractions, restaurants and beaches. Honestly, we never felt the need to leave this house all week (okay, except a trip to the grocery store!) We highly recommend renting here and know, no matter how discriminating you are, you and your family will never forget time spent together on this property. To our delight, we were able to feast on clams we dug up daily from "our" beach and took in the sun set while enjoying cocktails down at the boat house each evening. This house is uniquely special and yes, even magical! We simply cannot wait to return. This is a "not to miss" vacation rental property!! show more show less

Thanks Melissa! We were we happy to have you and your dog visit- I know the weather wasn't great, but glad you could enjoy the place! Please come back!

Fishing and shell fishing can be fun and bountiful, but appropriate town/state licenses are required.

True treasure of a home with unbeatable views

Cozy and comfortable with easy access to breathtaking views; all you have to do is look out any of the windows in the home and there will be an amazing view of Little Pleasant Bay with the outer beach off in the distance. A great spot to escape with family, friends, or solo, and have a truly relaxing and reviving Cape Cod experience. Less than a 10 minute drive to attractions such as Nauset Beach, parking for the Rail Trail, Orleans Town Center, and multiple wooded walking paths/trails. However, you might not even need to leave this home during your stay because Little Pleasant Bay is less than 30 yards from the back porch door. The home itself is beautiful and traditional with plenty of architecture and items to admire within. show more show less

In the early forties, our grandparents purchased about five acres on Little Pleasant Bay. ''It was the only spot on the Bay where the property rolled gently down to the water'' unlike sharp bluffs observed Bussie from a sail boat. Our parents retired to the house an were blessed with its location, character and ''feel'' for over 20 years.

What is special about this property?
The house is at the end of a one-lane private road, on Little Pleasant Bay. The private beach is often pure soft sand, from which one can catch stripers, bluefish, clams, and crabs. Ospreys soar over head, and seals hang out on ''the rock''. (you can also rent kayaks, paddle boards, and more for delivery to the property)
The view from the house, (and of course boat house on the beach) looks east across the Bay, over Hog and Sampson Islands, to the outer beach (Nauset, from Orleans to Chatham). With the right wind, you can hear the pounding surf, and sometimes see the wave spray on the barrier beach.

What is special about your town?
Orleans is a great New England village with shops, restaurants, and more. Its not quite as ''fancy'' as Chatham, but offers plenty to do, has several small and large markets, and lots of activities. There are some fantastic dining choices from really high end (and delicious) establishments, to casual, simple (and delicious) more relaxed spots.
