    Serenity

My Wife and I just finished a 2 week stay at Jody and Tom's Cottage and loved it. Great Location, well equipped and clean. Perfect combination of old Cape Cod knotty Pine and and modern amenities. And the owners are very responsive to any needs or concerns. Highly recommended, we will be back ! A+++

    Great Place!!!

We stayed at this wonderful house for two weeks this past July (2024). Jody was a great owner, easy to deal with, and prompt with all communications. The house is very spacious and well appointed, with a very open and bright first floor plan. The ACs for the great room and bedrooms worked wonderfully and is a must with the summers getting ever warmer. The outdoor shower is one of the best at the wide variety of places we've stayed in our 30+ years of visiting the Cape. It is very centrally located and a quick trip into Town, to the Nauset and/or Skaket beaches. Definitely looking to go back in summer of 2025! show more show less

    Fabulous location & comfortable home

We've stayed at Jody's lovely home two summers in a row, and we plan to come back! We love the great room, outdoor shower, quiet neighborhood, and proximity to our favorite beaches. It is reliably clean and comfortable. We had never experienced a/c through mini-splits, and were surprised by how quiet and efficient they are. There is everything one might need in the kitchen to cook a full meal, but there are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby if you would rather not cook on vacation.

We have been visiting the Cape every summer for over a decade, but we find new spots to explore each year. Jody introduced us to nearby Kent's Point, which is a wonderful place to stroll with our dog, experience the beauty of the bay, and get our toes in the sand.

    Must try:
    - Food: Burritos at Corner Store and the vanilla/cherry/chocolate ice cream at Ice Cream Cafe -- both in Orleans
    - Books: Annie's in Orleans and Herridge Books in Wellfleet
    - Walking: Kent's Point in Orleans and Uncle Tim's Bridge in Wellfleet
    - Truro Vineyard

    Great Cottage!

We're on our 9th year visiting the Cape and this was one of our favorite places to stay. There is plenty of space for the family to spread out. The house has plenty of board of games to choose from to play in the great room. Every room has their own ac unit and comfy beds. We grilled almost every night on the huge deck. The house is equipped with everything you might need. The property is clean, updated, well maintained and pet friendly. I highly recommend staying here. Jody is super sweet and awesome to deal with. We will definitely be back. show more show less

    Serenity in Orleans

We enjoyed our time at Serenity. Some highlights for our family were the amazing outdoor shower, nice large deck, bright family room & beautiful hydrangeas. We would like to return to this Orleans escape in the future.

    Just what we needed

This was our second time staying at the cottage. The owners are very nice, communication is easy and they are helpful. The home is clean, decorated nicely and the yard has pretty landscaping. It's easy to relax here! It is in a quiet neighborhood but close to many things. The kitchen is well equipped and the grill was fun to use. We can't wait to get back!

    Great Get-Away near Nauset Beach

Our family enjoyed two weeks in this quaint cottage near Nauset Beach in late May. The beach is just 1.5 miles away and was very empty at this time of year, perfect for long walks and sitting and staring at the ocean.

The cottage has everything you need and is conveniently located near shops and restaurants. The yard and outside sitting area is wonderful although the weather did not cooperate for us so we did not get to enjoy that as much as we would have liked. Would definitely return! show more show less

What a wonderful and enchanting cottage!

My fiance and I have stayed at Serenity twice. We absolutely love it. The house is in a quiet corner of a neighborhood less than 8 minutes to Nauset, 7 minutes to Kent's Point and 10 to Skaket beach.

The thing that sets this gem apart is that it is updated, fresh and yet maintains a very special old-fashioned charm. It reminds me of being young and on vacation before the world got so complicated. The kitchen is remodeled and I loved reading on the couch while my love cooked us some great local seafood.

The outdoor shower is heaven and the king bed is extremely comfortable. You'll have a nice private backyard and you'll want to stay the whole summer. The wifi is excellent, we both needed to access work and we had strong signal. (If you are big on TV this is not the place for you. If you love to cook and chill and not " see and be seen" Serenity is the perfect little cottage! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    A Respite From the Pandemic

My husband and I ,and our two pups, spent two perfect weeks at Serenity Cottage. Unsure initially if we should cancel , Jody patiently waited me out and reported back on phase 1 and 2 openings on the Cape. We made the right choice in going, finding tranquility in what was our most relaxing vacation in memory. The weather was hot hot hot but swimming in the crystal clear waters of Pilgrim and Crystal lake and sleeping in a perfectly cooled house was superb.

The cottage and setting are charming, as described by others. We sat for hours in the morning having coffee and listening to the birds before deciding where to swim. Nauset is a 5 minute drive at most, the ponds in Orleans are about 10 minutes away. First Encounter beach in Eastham is nearby and beautiful for swimming at high tide. The town of Orleans is a 2 minute drive and even with dining restrictions there were ample choices.

The cottage is very well stocked, very clean and very comfortable. The mini splits work perfectly and allow for only cooling the areas you need. The outdoor shower is the best!!

Jody was outstanding to work with. We are already looking forward to next summer at the cottage.

The Beautiful Mystique of Cape Cod Is This Cottage

This cottage is seamlessly woven into the beautiful mystique of Cape Cod. Anyone looking to have a genuine Cape experience will be missing out if they do not book this property! From the adorable lattice covered side porch with seating for two to the lush hydrangeas to the outdoor shower to the wiffle ball friendly backyard, your time spent here is just as good outdoors as it is inside.

I have stayed at this property both in the summer and fall. There is more than enough space for a family or multiple couples or a friends get-together. I've stayed in the bedroom downstairs and one of the rooms upstairs with two twin beds. It is quiet, comfortable and every morning I woke up refreshed, no matter if the morning was sunny or there was rain passing through.

The kitchen is well-stocked with a coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans, knives, cutting boards and baking utensils (my good friend and I baked an amazing apple pie while staying there). We grilled marinated veggies on the gas grill. The last time we stayed at the cottage, we brought our bikes with us and did some big day trips so it was nice to come home and put together a healthy meal and not have to get back in the car again to sit in a restaurant. (The Shaw's right off of the highway is conveniently located for groceries. There's also a booze store, CVS and sports store in the same plaza.) Downtown Orleans is easily accessible by bike or car. Orleans Cycle will rent you a bike if you did not bring your own (located right next to the Cape Cod Rail Trail).

There's also some board games, books and DVDs to peruse if you're looking for a random encounter to keep you busy.
The close proximity to Nauset Beach is also a bonus. We ran to the beach our last morning there (1.6 miles, about 3 round trip) and got to see the sunrise over the East Coast which was just spectacular.
The cottage is well-stocked with linens and other supplies. There is a very helpful guest binder that answers any question you could possibly have about your stay. The WIFI is easy to access and the showers have great water pressure and HOT water.

When you stay at this cottage, you feel like you're a part of the history and magic of Cape Cod. After you return home from your trip, it's the kind of place you immediately look forward to returning to.
