Description

Description

This spacious and sunlit contemporary post and beam home with cathedral ceilings is ideally located near town and privately situated on a hill. It is within walking distance of downtown Orleans (dining, shopping and Cape League Baseball games) with close proximity to town landings, Nauset Beach, and so much more! The long driveway leads through a planted orchard to the top of a hill to the front gate that opens up to a secluded and serene yard.

The home has three levels of living, and an expansive exterior front deck and rear patio with pergola that is located off the kitchen which makes perfect indoor/outdoor entertaining space for a gathering. Front deck provides outdoor seating for dining up to 12 guests. Rear patio has seating for 4 guests. A grand brick gas fireplace in the living room opens to the ceiling for those cool nights. The lofted third floor area offers additional living space, and there is a walkout finished lower level. There are 3 bedrooms, and 2 loft sleeping areas with beds for a total of 8-10 guests comfortably.

Amenities include a dishwasher, washer/dryer, coffee makers (espresso coffee maker & 12 cup coffee maker with built in grinder), an additional grinder. Each coffee station includes whole coffee beans, ground coffee, sugar and tea. An outdoor shower with has aromasense luxury shower head. Linens and bathroom towels are provided. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash and soap are provided and stocked up in each bathroom. Downstairs entry room has a small fridge (seasonal) with electric kettle & double wall stainless steel French press coffee maker. Beach towels (12), beach toys and games, beach umbrellas (3) as well as beach chairs (12) are available upon request.

Rentals are generally weekends only with three night minimums June through August. Prices average $1600/night. WiFi available but no television. Water quality report on request. Orleans water is quite good for the Cape as tested from this tap. Kitchen sink and shower water filters installed. Organic garden produce available to pick in season. Please specify desired produce with your reservation and if possible we will plant to coordinate harvest time with your stay. This is a true sanctuary. Looking for more activities besides time on the beach? Explore the beautiful bike trails nearby. Bike rentals could be arranged upon request as well as passes to local Yoga Studios. We only have a few reviews since we have done many renovations and could not rent out for the last several years as major repairs were underway. Ideally we would like to have the same weeks with the same renters booked each year and have these few be accommodated according to their needs. If you have read this far then thank you for your attention. This is not your average vacation rental!

    Charming Cape Cod Home

Stayed here for a long weekend in July with a group of 9 girls. The owners were so wonderful to work with from the start, answering all questions in a timely manner and sharing recommendations about local activities, restaurants and more. They even suggested we hire a private chef to the home which was a HIGHLIGHT of our weekend. Throughout our stay they were communicative on text, very responsive and very attuned to our needs. They even were thoughtful enough to send an extra table so we could dine alfresco! And they also stocked the house with kitchen essentials after we shared our needs. So wonderful and made the check-in process really easy.

The house itself is quite charming and definitely feels very Cape Cod, which was perfect for us. The common areas had high ceilings and an open floor plan which is perfect for groups. The two back patios were lovely to enjoy in the nice weather. The beds were all extremely comfortable, and the house was well-stocked with beach and bath towels, extra linens and anything we could need or want.

    Highly recommend!

    Fishing and Family Trip

We began the long weekend with a fishing trip for the guys for first few days and then used the rest of the long weekend to have the women and children come for beach and fun. We had great sunny weather and bluefish and striper all weekend. Charcoal grill a plus if you like your food smoky. Firepit a nice addition to spending time outdoors. We felt at home, like in the woods of western, Mass, only we could still walk to the grocery store and to baseball games.

The best part of this property is its central location and ability to do anything without running out of space (there were 10 of us). We spent time doing everything and felt that it was all just a few minutes away. We normally spend lots of time in the car and here we spent most of our time in local activities and minimal time driving around. The homeowner met us on the day we arrived and had the fridge with our grocery lisack fort stocked, fishing charter arranged and beach stuff ready. The value for what we paid was the best as we do not go out to eat due to the many small children in the family and varied tastes of each of us, so we cooked over the fire and in the kitchen with the best fish we caught ourselves.

We hope to come back for two or more long weekends this summer. This was the best hospitality we received ever!

    Great location for weekend vacation

Had a great time staying here, property was very clean, spacious, and owner was very courteous and easy to deal with. Private location, with close-by restaurants and beaches. We plan on staying here again, and we highly recommend it to others.

Inviting open floor plan, off street private feel, and proximity to the best the Cape has to offer made this vacation house the ideal getaway for our large family and our four legged friend Hudson. We hope to return mid summer for the beaches as this time of year was not beach weather. The Cape just waking up and the weather was nice, but still cool, great for sight seeing and dining out with the anticipation of summer in the air and of warmer times. Our extended family of 6 stayed at the house, while another 20 or so from another two rental houses chose the gather here as it offered the best place to hold that many people of all the houses we rented and that were available for this our time frame. We ended up staying here more often for meals or ordering in than going out, especially as many places were not quite open yet for the season. Thank you for the wonderful attention to the details of our needs! That made it a great weekend for the whole family and drew us closer together, at least for that weekend. show more show less

Our family purchased this house in 2016 and we are in the process of polishing this neglected gem. Last year we cleared all the trees in order to create more access outside. We lost some privacy, but will eventually reclaim it as we re-landscape.
We offer customized stays for our guests in order to create a hassle free and memorable stay. My wife and I have years of experience in hospitality and now can bring it to our guests first hand. We are planning continuous improvement and reinvestment in the property to encourage repeat guests. We have had recent success renting this home for gatherings of around 30 people. We are only accommodating short stays to limit our rental to a total of 14 days per year or less to save our guests and ourselves money as we can qualify for exemption from the new Massachusetts lodging tax. In this way we can spend more time per guest rental making it that perfect venue for that special summer occasion. Thank you for considering our home for your vacation!

What is special about this property?
The open floor plan is unique to gatherings as well as the very private setting just walking distance from downtown Orleans. Proximity to beaches is also a plus. We are hoping to help our guests customize their stay by being here as concierge before and during your stay. We hope to take any hassle out of your vacation and leave you with enjoyment and memories.

What is special about your town?
Nauset Beach is 4 miles away! So is Skaket beach for bayside fun. Crystal Lake and Pilgrim lake are just a few minutes away. Downtown is a walkable 10 minutes for restaurants, ice cream, Firebirds baseball, playgrounds and shopping. The bike trail can be accessed by riding through town and The National Seashore Headquarters in Eastham is about a half an hour away (by bicycle) to the East and Nickerson State Park in Brewster is about the same distance to the West. Tell us the Nature of your stay and we are happy to facilitate bicycle rentals, beach equipment, fishing charters etc. with local vendors so that everything is ready for you when you arrive. We charge a lot so we strive to make the best use of your precious time.
