Our family of 10 enjoyed a wonderful week at the "Tar Kiln Road" house in South Orleans! The swimming pool and beautiful, large and well-equipped kitchen were highlights of this home. We spent many days in the pool, which was big enough to accommodate our group, plus a few inflatable rings and rafts! We also appreciated that there is a safety fence by the pool. The fenced-in backyard was ideal for our dog.

In addition to the pool and beautifully landscaped yard, the inside of the house was well suited for our family. The kitchen was ideal for cooking and also just sitting around with another cup of coffee or smoothie! There were plenty of bedrooms (with comfortable beds) and bathrooms.

After looking at many houses for our family vacation, we are so glad that this one was available for our week....it was perfect for our family. We have many wonderful memories of our week at the "Tar Kiln Road" house.

Perfect Pre-Wedding Get Away
We stayed here the week before my wedding with our wedding party. Everything was fantastic! There was plenty of space for the 12 of us, beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed stocked and ready for us when we arrived! We normally spend our days on the cape out and about, but this house became an attraction in and of itself! We loved the pool, hot tub, sauna and outdoor space to hang out. The kitchen was also fantastic and we had everything we needed for the times we wanted to cook. We also loved how friendly the property was for our dogs. The entire backyard was fenced in so our furry kids got to have their own vacation! Also, I can't thank Jeff enough for being flexible with us and allowing us to move our originally booked week from 2020 to 2021 due to covid. We'll remember this experience forever. We're so sad it's over but so grateful it happened!!

AMAZING House for a great big family!
Jeff was so responsive and easy to communicate with. The house is absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed. It is perfect for a big family vacation like my family and I had, we hadn't done something like this in 10 years, it was truly special. Thank you so much Jeff for everything, and leaving us a delicious desert when we arrived. This trip meant the world to my grandmother to have her whole family in once place for a week. We couldn't thank you enough! Cheers!

The house accommodated our family of 21 ppl. Having a pool, sauna, and hot tub was the main attraction to the house. We spent most of the vacation at the house cooking, being in the lovely backyard swimming, and sitting around the living room enjoying each other's company. The house is very spacious allowing you to spread out and find quiet space if you need it. Jeff was great about communicating if we had any questions or needs.

AFabulous Weekend!!!
When Covid hit our wedding was cancelled, so we were looking for a place to host our elopement instead with a few guests. Jeff was beyond accommodating, answered all of my questions quickly and even left some wine with a sweet congratulatory card on the counter for us. The house was spotless and the whole space was massive, so everyone felt like they had enough space. Not only that but it was beautiful and we fully enjoyed all of the amenities. We even snuck away to the nearby beach for some photos after the ceremony! It was a perfect weekend and Jeff was an incredible host. We hope to come back one day soon!! Thank you Jeff!!

Late September Long Weekend
We stayed at the property for three nights in late September and had a great time. We were lucky with the weather, and had a great day fishing. The highlight of the trip was the house though. It's very comfortable and sets up perfectly for a reasonably large group. We had 14 adults and everybody had their own quarters and enjoyed the ample social areas of the house too. The kitchen is the heart of the home and this one has everything you need. Outside, the pool, hot tub, sauna and gas grill and fire pit were all big hits. Jeff ifs a perfect host, he communicates very clearly and gives great instructions for everything. Loved it. Can't wait for next year.

Excellent Family Vacation
We rented the house for a four night stay during Thanksgiving. This house has character and warmth and we loved it! Well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and blankets, firewood and even a cake and couple bottles of wine on arrival from host! Beds were comfy and we slept 19 people there. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna, scrabble games, small stage downstairs for kids, outdoor grill. Getting in touch with host on arrival was easy. Would definitely rent again!

Orleans Paradise
Jeffrey's property was fantastic. We've rented large houses over the years for family get togethers from the Florida Keys to Maine. Of all those homes Jeffery's home was by far the best equipped. The kitchen is big enough to accommodate several chefs and my 4 boys love to cook. A great selection of pans, skillets, bowls, plates.and utensils. The kitchen leads to a large deck adorned with a cedar sauna, outdoor shower, hot tub and an enormous pool. The grounds are well maintained with a variety of shrubs, plants and flowers. The privacy that the trees and shrubs provide is a plus. The rooms are spacious. We had 21 in our family and several daytime visitors throughout the week and no problem with space. We made good use of the mint growing in a herb bed next to the pool, delicious. Our grandkids entertained the adults with a skit they wrote and produced making good use of the stage in the basement bedroom. Pleasant Bay beach is a short walk or bike ride from the property. If the kids weren't swimming at the beach they were in the pool. If you rent this property don't worry about linens, towels, kitchen equipment, spices, coffee makers (2), glassware, dish washing (2 dishwashers), second floor laundry and a generous supply of bathroom paper as well as tin foil, plastic wrap, plastic bags the list goes on. Don't think twice about this property, it has everything.

The house exceeded our expectations. It is beautiful, well thought out and well equipped. We held a family reunion of 16 adults, for part of our week. The central location on the Cape was great for for touring and exploring. We spent most evenings cooking together, using all of the equipment provided. We all managed to sit around the large table and counter. Later in the night we used the fire pit often. The house was a great place for our large family group.

Beautiful home, with all the finest equipment. Owner is very responsive to any problem. Only problem we had was that the lower level where some children slept was very warm.

Our family group of 10 consisted of children, young adults and grandparents. The house offered fine amenities for all. The master bedroom suite was ideal for the family with young children. And of course the children loved frolicking the in the pool. The rest of us found spacious bedroom accommodations, one other had a private bath. The well stocked kitchen (complete with fireplace) is nothing short of incredible! It allowed for our group of 10 to gather in the morning, talk, laugh and drink lots of coffee - there are 2 coffee makers btw. The dining room table and kitchen stools allowed everyone to sit easily. The other common sitting area is a living room adjacent to the piano room and fireplace which allowed a comfortable place to chat, play board games, read and plan next day activities. The TV room had spacious seating as well. Seating on the deck allowed everyone to hang out, sunbath, watch activities in the pool, barbecue on the gas grill, dine outdoors etc. Everyone loved the Cape Cod traditional outdoor shower. The kids loved the game room / karaoke house.

Since we had some consecutive humid nights we really appreciated having individual AC's to cool the bedrooms. Yes we would return and we would recommend the property to friends. The only improvements that we could suggest for a nearly perfect property are adding some outdoor property lighting for the street side of the house and adding a space to simplify turning larger cars like minivans and SUVs in the driveway. Overall the house far exceeded our expectations helping to make our family vacation a real success.

The property and the gardens are amazing! Plenty of room for our daily bocci ball tournaments. We were a party of 10; ages 5 y/o through 97 y/o. The house accommodated our family perfectly. The pool was fantastic; there was always someone in the pool. We spent most of our time either on the deck (day) or in the living room (evening). There was ample room for everyone to sleep, read, talk, and relax. We spent most evenings at home; barbecuing and cooking in the massive kitchen! The property is centrally located. Close to Chatham, Orleans, and Brewster. The grocery store was a 5 min drive. We would highly recommend this property.

This trip was the first time my extended family vacationed together. Three generations and four families got together for the trip of a lifetime. We loved the house and all the amenities. With the play room, pool and large yard, the kids had plenty of distractions. This gave the adults plenty of time to relax too! The house was gorgeous but also very comfortable. It was a fantastic vacation. The trip will remain a very special memory for us and we hope to make it an annual event.

A wonderful family home away from home. Spacious and well furnished with very flexible sleeping arrangements and fantastic grounds for either relaxing or activities. The pool is even long enough to swim laps. The kitchen is modern, spacious and well laid out. The yard is beautifully landscaped. The location is ideal -- close to both Nauset and Skaket beaches and to Orleans and Chatham. Very important--the owner is very attentive and gracious if there are things to be done.

This was our first vacation rental by an owner, and we were very pleased. The property is a sanctuary, set back from the road with abundant privacy and lovely landscaping. The home is clean, spacious, and attractively appointed. Our three-generation party of 10 had ample room for everyone, and families with children older than our toddlers would find the basement play area and the play room next to the fenced pool useful. We especially enjoyed cooking in the roomy kitchen and had many memorable meals at the large dining table which easily accommodated all of us.. There was plenty of space for common activities, including a large deck with comfortable chairs. But there were also a number of separate areas affording more solitude. We all commented on how the home was even more inviting than the photographs, a pleasant surprise. The house is in walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean and a short drive to nice beaches; strategically located, it is less than an hour from virtually all attractions. We would enthusiastically stay there again.
