    Great family vacation

Our family of 6 adults and 2 grandchildren enjoyed this spacious Orleans home for a family vacation that was enjoyed by all!

The house is comfortable and casual and affords space for group gatherings as well as alone time. The big deck was great for dining and late afternoon cocktails. Our six year old grand-daughter was enthralled by the family of bunnies that visited the lawn lawn each day and we all enjoyed the many birds in the area.

The location is convenient to supermarkets and restaurants as well as Nauset Beach and yet is quiet and private, tucked at the end of a sandy lane with no traffic or noise. show more show less

    Great place

This place was a great find. It is very charming. The pictures don't do it justice. Very spacious and quiet. I was there with 6 adults and an 11 year old and we had more than enough space and were able to spread out. My dog loved it as well, especially that deck. While we were there, the waves at Nauset were huge and we could hear them from the house. A great time was had!

A little bit of heaven in East Orleans.

This perfect family home is by far our best rental find ever. The location is perfect. All the amenities you could ask for and much more. The home boasts plenty of room for all ages. We were a family of 8,6 adults and 2 children. From the moment I walked into this home I knew we found our forever rental. There is all the room you could want or need. The deck is perfect for large family cookouts, morning coffee and cocktails at night. The kitchen is well appointed for your cooking needs. I’m an Italian woman who enjoys cooking for her family. Everything I needed and more. The bedrooms were large, cool and comfortable. Ample closet space with fans for all. Paper towels, toilet paper and garbage bags provided. Cleaning products too. As a clean freak I enjoyed that aspect of our visit. The family room is extra large and very bright. Had room for all of us. Comfortable too. Loved the sectional. Plenty of things to keep you busy on a rainy day. Puzzles, books, telescope and much more. The bathrooms were clean and roomy. The outdoor shower was heavenly. We enjoyed the use of the two bikes in the shed also. Numerous beach chairs and boogie boards were an added touch. I think my favorite thing in this exceptional home was the feeling you are sitting in a bird house. Because of the design of the home, the main living area is on the second floor. There is a beautiful tree you are at eye level with. Birds were certainly an added amenity to this destination. My favorite time of the day was early morning sipping coffee and listening to the beautiful birds. The loft served as a living space for my daughter and her husband and 2 children. They were able to make a king size bed for themselves by connecting the two twin size beds and the children had their own twin beds. As far as communication with the home owners, that was effortless. The Alexander’s are perfect home owners to do business with. We are definitely looking forward to returning to our special piece of heaven right there in East Orleans. Thank you Richard and Ellie for sharing your home incredible home with us. Sincerely Marc and Marcia Hancox show more show less

    Family Friendly Vacation Home Delight

Lovely family-friendly vacation home. We were six, 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 teens. Three bedrooms and loft, very comfortable and configured with a modern flare. Well stocked kitchen, TVs, games, books, telescope, binoculars, lawn and beach chairs, and more. The location is perfect, on a small quiet private dead-end street, lovely grounds, (the birds in the morning were wonderful) and within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and ice cream. We had breakfasts and dinners on the large deck overlooking pond and flora with a view of the ocean. One of the best features enjoyed by all members of the family was the out-door shower. We had our bikes and used them on several days biking through the residential neighborhoods near-by and over to the bike trail. Nickerson Park 5 minutes away by car to hike, have a picnic, or get into the water. Very conveniently located to many of the activities in the area for all family members to enjoy.

Overall, a very good value for the money.

    Amazing home

As long time renters at the Cape, I have to say this is by far one of the best properties we have ever stayed at!! I'm not sure where to begin:

    1. LOCATION - The location is perfect with easy access to beautiful Orleans beaches (Bay and Atlantic) and it's very central for day trips (or lunch trips) to Chatham, Wellfleet or Provincetown. We stay away from the Yarmouth/Hyannis area, but if that's what you like, those are close too!
    2. HOUSE - The house is wonderful and the pictures in the listing don't come close to doing it justice! It is clean, comfortable, quiet and incredibly well stocked with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, for the beach (beach chairs umbrella) and just for day to day needs (paper towels, toilet paper, sponges, cleaning supplies). We've never stayed at a rental that offered so many comforts! The three bedrooms are comfortable and breezy; we never used the loft but it's a great spot for overflow guests! The deck with the view of the ocean was wonderful for morning coffee and evening grilling/cocktails. The yard is gorgeous and well maintained with beautiful flowers and landscaping (and the landscaper who comes on Saturday is awesome too!)
    3. OWNERS - The owners are lovely, friendly, responsive and accommodating. They clearly take pride in their home and want their renters to enjoy everything it has to offer. They provide tons of information on the area in advance, and once you get there, the tenant binder is full of awesome recommendations for places to eat, drink and see in the area.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have found this place and can't recommend it highly enough to others who plan to vacation in the Orleans area! A true gem!

    Great Location

This house is well equipped and the location can't be beat. Close to Nauset Beach and only a very short drive to Sundae School. The owner is great and is very friendly and accommodating. He went as far as to research dog friendly activities nearby for me. The house has a family-friendly layout and the deck is awesome. Nice clean outdoor shower too.

    A Memorable Vacation

We had a party of 8 stay in this house with room to spare. 3 generations, including an 18, 19 & 20 year old! The house accommodated priviacy as well as numerous games of UNO. The kids (and some adults) loved the outside shower and we all enjoyed time on the spacious deck. The area around the house was peaceful and quiet and it was easy to get to Arnolds, Nauset and Skaket beaches, as well as Provincetown. We will look into this house for summer of 2015!

    Great stay!

Not only did we have a terrific view (especially for morning sunrises), but this was the perfect vacation home. Fresh and open, it gave us all space to relax and do what we wanted. The loft is great for kids; the alcove next to the loft is great for reading, viewing (through the binoculars and telescope) and playing cards. Definitely liked the quiet (except for those "noisy" birds!) and dark bedrooms from the "upside down" floor plan.

We have enjoyed this comfortable vacation home with our three children, their friends, our friends, dogs and now grandchildren for close to 30 years. The views are great (and the telescope gives a wonderful glimpse of all the sparkling stars!)

A neighbor takes care of any day-to-day issues, and we pride ourselves on responsiveness to any concerns that might arise.

What is special about this property?
Visiting families especially appreciate the ''nooks and crannies'' of this ''upside down'' house, so that even with multiple generations/families, there is always a place to quietly get away (for work or just peace of mind.) Because the bedrooms are on the first floor, the activities (and views) can be enjoyed from the second floor.

The yard itself is fairly large, so group activities are possible, when friends and family get together.

The residential community feel of the area means that walks on the many side streets can be relaxing and safe. (There is traffic on Beach Rd., going down to Nauset Beach, but it's pretty well controlled.)

Because the home is for a vacation, we believe that you'll find the furniture and beds comfy, and the overall atmosphere definitely says ''Vacation''. (Some of the beds can be configured as king singles, depending on what works best for you

While not on the Cape, we are committed to making sure that we are only a phone call, email or text away.

What is special about your town?
Orleans is a unique, residential community with a busy Main Street (great shops) and lots of good restaurants. We especially like the ''homey'' places like The Hole in the Wall (great breakfasts), Homeport (great breakfasts and lunches), Ice Cream Cafe (amazing ice cream, of course), and a lot of good places for dinner.

Obviously, Nauset Beach needs to get a mention for being some of the best beaches on the Cpae, but so too does Skaket Beach (bay side) and sunsets at Rock Harbor. For fresh water, we recommend Chrystal Lake and Pilgrim Lake (great places to rinse off kids at the end of the day.)

We love to take our (well behaved) dogs to Kent's Point, but there are other trails and swimming holes in the area. There is also the Bike Trail that runs through the town.

Finally, we love the community feel of Orleans, and the fact that it's in ''the middle'' - so going to Provincetown or Hyannis, Yarmouth or Sandwich is not that far away. In fact, getting to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard is easy since we're about equi-distance to the ferries for both destinations. Both bay and ocean swimming is available.
