Description

Description

Decorator designed and professionally landscaped, this former 1880 Victorian Boarding House can now be rented singularly with adjoining partitions as a Whole House (#23475) or separately in two-parts (North Unit: #17434) & (South Unit: #23474) ** see separate listings #17434 & #23474. The two-story home is vertically divided, each side with their own complete kitchen and laundry centers, and fronts onto a private neighborhood beach. It has a large, sprawling, front porch with beautiful Western sunset-over-water views. This charming property (whole house) sleeps up to 18 people and has all amenities with 8 bedrooms (5 upstairs and 3 downstairs) and 4 full bathrooms (2 upstairs and 2 downstairs). More details may be seen on the individual North and South side listings. AMENITIES include: All linens, dishes & cooking utensils, WI-FI, Cable TV, Free nation-wide Phone service (Northside only), some VIDEO, DVD & CD Players, Video Film Collection, Games, Toys & Beach Equipment, BBQ and Picnic Tables.

There is also a local Manager to assist tenants as needed and an interim cleaning service available if desired by Guest, at their own expense.
NOTE: A mandatory $250 Vacating Cleaning Fee is Mandatory, per previous Guests' requests, in order to use our own professional cleaning and laundry staff to insure a consistently high-quality standard of sanitation and inventory between all newly-arriving Guests. This also allows guests to enjoy their full last vacation days without having to spend their last time to launder and clean the premises.

This site is ideal for families, with a beautiful beach only 20 steps from the front porch. It's also only a 10-minute stroll over the Old Stone Bridge to Onset Village, offering free summer outdoor concerts & movies, canal tours, kayak & boat rentals and nearby golfing, and a 10-minute Drive to the famous Cranberry Highway and all its stores, shops, restaurants and activities such as a Water Park, Miniature Golf, and access over the canal to the outer Cape and Island Cruises.

ONSET VILLAGE: This is how one of our renters described our beach and the town of Onset:
''The beach on Onset Bay is long and the water is beautiful, especially fun for families, and safe for young children. If arrival is timed right, there are even some shady areas, which is important to some. The village itself has a casual, friendly vibe, and most folks smile and say hello. AND there's a great pizza place adjacent--Marc Anthony's.''

We have been renting this property for seven years

We have been renting this property for seven years. It feels like home! Everything you could possibly want is within reach. Fully equipped with everything you need to take care of your family for however long you stay. Centrally located to any attraction. Boston, Plymouth, Wood's Hole, Martha's Vineyard.

The property manager, Julie, is just a text away. Run out of trash bags, dish soap, need special cooking pans, dishes, trash removed . . . Julie is there in 15 minutes from call to arrival. Something major . . . The plumber is on speed dial.

Our stays just get better each year.

    Awesome Family Vacation!!

My family, which included grandparents, parents, grandkids and auntie, had an awesome time at Joan's beach house in Onset, right across from Onset Cove, where we could just walk out the door and literally be in the water in seconds, searching for crabs, kayaking, swimming or just lounging in a beach chair; sunsets were beautiful, short walk to Onset Village, perfect size home for all of us so we could spread out, supplied everything we needed to cook great meals, beds were comfy and a nice big deck to sit and relax and take in the views. Couldn't have picked a better place to stay and we will be back! Highly recommend this Victorian Onset Cape House to anyone that wants to visit this part of Cape Cod and so easy to get to. show more show less

Traveled From Las Vegas to Spend the 4th of July in Onset

We had an absolutely AMAZING time!! The house could not have worked out better. I initially wanted to be over on the peninsula behind downtown and Shell Point. Staying there and walking through town, would've been too crowded. It was nice being outside of the main drag, but a short walk when we wanted to visit. We spent almost the entire time on the water out front. Plenty enough beach, not crowded and the kids could crab hunt at low tide... We had plenty of room in the house. We rented the whole house so my wife and three-month old had privacy on the three-bedroom side, while everyone else could come-and-go on the five-bedroom side. The décor gave us the classic beach vibe you look for when headed that way. The spacious porch accommodated people comfortably. Plenty came to visit for the day. The kids all had a blast right in front of the house.

The neighbors were very friendly. The property managers were responsive, had everything handled if I had any questions.

I grew up on the South Shore, had friends and family stopping by from nearby areas. Everyone loved the house and location. All guests and visitors had such a great time, especially us. Thank you for such a great experience!!

    Best cottage ever!!

My family (immediate, siblings, aunts, cousins) rented this cottage -both sides-for a week in August. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Had everything. From dishes, towels (both personal and beach), beach "toys", paper products, toiletries, etc. Each room had a tv. Beds were comfortable. Window air conditioners in bedrooms. We had a relative that couldn't handle steps. There was a full bedroom on the main floor of both sides which was perfect. Washer/dryer -with detergent and dryer sheets-for your use.

Aside from the necessary items, the cottage was comfortable and inviting. The many days and nights we spent on the porch in the big rocking chairs created memories for a lifetime. Our group ranged from eight years old to 75 with every age in between. There was something for everyone. Beach right across from cottage. Onset only a ten minute walk. Grocery and package store ten minutes away. We did a trip to Nantucket and also a day of deep sea fishing. All within an hour's drive or less. The large kitchen had ample space for sit down dinners. Grills and large picnic table made outside eating comfortable. Neighbors were nice. Lots of parking. We had seven cars and family visiting at various times all week and parking wasn't a problem.

Bottom line . . . It truly was the best cottage any one of us had ever rented and we have been visiting Onset since the 1960's. We will be back and not soon enough for me!

    Fabulous Family Vacation - 2016

    Dear Marcy Family Trust,
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. I loved reading the history of the home and walking around looking at all of the charming & unique decorations and items that create such a welcoming atmosphere. There was nothing that you didn't think of, every closet and cabinet contained items that we found useful. Between the house, the yard, and the shed, we had everything that we needed and then some. But the Crowning Jewel of the House is the Front Porch: We spent many hours there, enjoying the views of the beach, the neighborhood, passing boaters, as well as passing walkers (many of whom commented on our perfect location) and the spectacular sunsets. We took a vote, and it was unanimous, that we would like to return next year for the same first two weeks of July. Please keep us in mind when you open your 2017 schedule. Thank you from Debbie Wosny & Family show more show less

This historical 1880 original Victorian Boarding House was bought and renovated by Los Angeles-based designer and family-owned property management company in 2014.
We have local management and take pride in keeping the property to the highest standard of repair, cleanliness and charm.
Our family has successfully owned and managed small, exclusive properties in California and Massachusetts for the last three decades. Our standard is that each property is one that we ourselves would want to live in and/or vacation in ourselves. It is this high standard that brings the majority of our Guests back every summer, although we always welcome new vacationers as availability permits.

What is special about this property?
It retains its historical 1880 charm of high ceilings, big sprawling front porch, interesting nooks and crannies, etc. while still being updated to all the contemporary comfort and amenities.
Its location just a few steps from a small, quiet beach make it ideal for families to spend leisurely and peaceful days, while the western-view over the inlet provides amazing sunsets while relaxing on the big front porch, equipped with tables, chairs, rocking chairs and even a Lifeguard Stand.
It's a very special property that many of our Guests return to as a ''tradition'' year after year.
Since the whole house can sleep up to 18 people, it is often the site of ''Family Reunions'', as well as ''Wedding Parties''.

What is special about your town?
Onset, at the base of the Cape Cod Canal, is an old Victorian Village with all the charm of same. Small shops, cozy restaurants, friendly people as if you had stepped into a Norman Rockwell magazine cover.
At the same time, there are all the major stores and conveniences just a few minutes drive away on the busy Cranberry Highway, with malls, restaurants, water slide and miniature golf attractions. Amidst this are numerous charming antique and souvenir shops as well. The Mass Maritime Academy also makes its home base just a few minutes away in Buzzards Bay, and there is a public golf course just down the road from the Village.
This area has all you could want for a Cape holiday, but without waiting sometimes hours to go on the outer Cape over the only two bridges leading over the Canal.
