''The beach on Onset Bay is long and the water is beautiful, especially fun for families, and safe for young children. If arrival is timed right, there are even some shady areas, which is important to some. The village itself has a casual, friendly vibe, and most folks smile and say hello. Charming 1880 Victorian Onset house

This was a most wonderful rental. The owner was available from beginning to end to answer Any questions or concerns, property managers were available and great. The cottage was clean, had everything we could wish for, including a lobster pot!. I visited with my 2 grandsons, ages 3 and 6 and two adult daughters. The beach was basically out our front door, providing plenty of time to walk, splash, collect seashells, etc. The large veranda, relaxing and perfect to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Truly a gem. show more show less

    Best cottage ever!

My family, immediate and extended, decided to vacation in the town where we spent all of our childhood summers . . . Onset. After looking at numerous properties, this one caught my interest. It was everything we could ask for. We rented both sides as we had four families vacationing together. It had everything you could need plus. The bedrooms were air conditioned, beds very comfortable, fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms, even beach towels. Living space was large; however, we didn't spend much time indoors. The porch was the family gathering place. From early morning into the night, someone was on the porch. Dinners were either eaten in the large dining area or outside at the large picnic table. The gas grills were a bonus. Neighbors were friendly. Quiet street. Ages ranged from 8 to 71 and we all went in the water which is a stones throw from the porch. Walking to town took about 10 minutes. Decent restaurants for those who wanted a night out. Park in town was always busy with concerts or area functions. Centrally located to sightseeing. We took the boat to Nantucket. Half hour drive to the dock. We also had a day for deep sea fishing. All in all, something for everyone with a wonderful cottage to return to at the end of the day to sit and relax on the porch. Looking into renting it again for two weeks next August. show more show less

    A true gem

We spent two weeks of relaxing beach and family fun time. I cannot say enough about the house, no detail was left undone. We arrived to a clean, well appointed property. You need only bring your clothes and can do your grocery shopping a few miles away. The front porch is so relaxing, you may never want to leave. The decor in the house is perfect, the location is excellent. We had kids from 2 through 15, and each one had a wonderful time. We are already planning to return next year.

    Perfect Vacation Home!

My family and I love your home! We had such a wonderful time and we will definitely return, scheduling permitting.

There was plenty of room for all of us, and your beds and bedding were SO comfortable. The weather was perfect so we spent very little time indoors but we talked about how nice it would be at your home if it rained for a day--lots of space to spread out for games, reading, napping, whatever.

We chatted quite a bit with the neighboring couple who were sweet and kind, even when my 4 year old grandson got a little rambunctious. And we met four of the nicest women who walked down to the beach in front of the house every day at 3:00 pm to swim a little and chat a lot! Every aspect of the week was just about perfect.

Thank you for sharing your home!!

    Even Better Than It Looks!

Our family plans yearly get-together in Onset (my hometown) for as many of us as can make it, coming from four to five states outside Massachusetts. The unanimous concensus was that this house was/is wonderful, we all loved it. We certainly hope to come back. It's a bright, beautiful, well-maintained home, and the light and air, and the sunsets, are all truly magical. We were all incredibly sad to leave!

    Perfect location

We spent a week here with our two families (four adults and four kids under four years of age) and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. The rental is well-stocked and well-kept. It is very spacious and open with plenty of room for all eight of us. We spent most days at the town beach, an easy 1/4 mile walk from the house - very convenient with kids! The house is located in a quiet and peaceful residential neighborhood, minutes from any necessary stores or restaurants. The rental owners and manager are very helpful with any questions or concerns. Highly recommend this rental. show more show less

    Charming Victorian

We rented this charming home for the week after July 4th, 2014. We were drawn to it from the pictures, and it was everything we thought and more! The pictures truly do not do it justice! The sunset views at night from the front porch are incredible. The house was very cozy, beds comfy, and the kitchen was well stocked. We made many meals there and had plenty of room for all 7 of us around the kitchen table.

Travel to mutliple sightseeing locations was very convenient - most within a 1 hr drive - Hyannis, ferry boats to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, Plimoth Plantation, and the city of Boston. We got the "Go Boston" card which was well worth the money and allowed us to see a lot of different sights for a discounted rate. Whale watching out of Provincetown is A MUST!!! We saw well over 15 whales breaching, feeding, and playing! Incredible to see. For Children, the Boston Tea Party museum was excellent, and the Boston Duck Tours a lot of fun, too! Now that we've "seen the sights", next time we would like to just relax in this gorgeous home! Highly recommend renting this home. Owners very pleasant and local caretaker very accommodating and helpful. All around a great experience and vacation!! show more show less

This historical 1880 original Victorian Boarding House was bought and renovated by Los Angeles-based designer and family-owned property management company in 2014.
We have local management and take pride in keeping the property to the highest standard of repair, cleanliness and charm.
Our family has successfully owned and managed small, exclusive properties in California and Massachusetts for the last three decades. Our standard is that each property is one that we ourselves would want to live in and/or vacation in ourselves. It is this high standard that brings the majority of our Guests back every summer, although we always welcome new vacationers as availability permits.

What is special about this property?
It retains its historical 1880 charm of high ceilings, big sprawling front porch, interesting nooks and crannies, etc. while still being updated to all the contemporary comfort and amenities.
Its location just a few steps from a small, quiet beach make it ideal for families to spend leisurely and peaceful days, while the western-view over the inlet provides amazing sunsets while relaxing on the big front porch, equipped with tables, chairs, rocking chairs and even a Lifeguard Stand.
It's a very special property that many of our Guests return to as a ''tradition'' year after year.
Since the whole house can sleep up to 18 people, it is often the site of ''Family Reunions'', as well as ''Wedding Parties''.

What is special about your town?
Onset, at the base of the Cape Cod Canal, is an old Victorian Village with all the charm of same. Small shops, cozy restaurants, friendly people as if you had stepped into a Norman Rockwell magazine cover.
At the same time, there are all the major stores and conveniences just a few minutes drive away on the busy Cranberry Highway, with malls, restaurants, water slide and miniature golf attractions. Amidst this are numerous charming antique and souvenir shops as well. The Mass Maritime Academy also makes its home base just a few minutes away in Buzzards Bay, and there is a public golf course just down the road from the Village.
This area has all you could want for a Cape holiday, but without waiting sometimes hours to go on the outer Cape over the only two bridges leading over the Canal.
