Walk To Beach, Separate In-Law Apt, A/C
Hyannis, Kalmus Beach Vacation Rental - ID 35112

We were a family group of 6 adults and 3 children under the age of 5. This house worked perfectly for us. Each family unit had their own space with plenty of common space for us to gather together. The short distance to the beach was great, too. We piled the kids, towels, and beach toys into a little wagon and we were there in a few minutes. The beach itself was just right for such young children, too. Plenty of shells to discover in the sand, easy running through the shallow water, and then ... a playground. It's so close to the house that we could go to the beach for an hour or two, come back home, and go back to the beach if we wanted to.

Another good thing about this house is the code-activated front door. It meant that we could split up into smaller groups without worrying who had the key if we didn't all get back at the same time. The A/C worked perfectly so we were always comfortable.

We also appreciated the central location of Hyannis. We spent one afternoon just walking Main Street with its stores and restaurants, and one evening at the ukelele concert on the Village Green. We took in a local minor league baseball game one afternoon in Yarmouth and another day walked the boardwalk while the kids checked out the tide pools (if that's the right term). It wasn't far to drive to Falmouth for the ferry to Martha's Vineyard or to Chatham, either.

We rented this house for a second time, because our first visit was so great. The house is so well equipped for the beach. Everything you could want is provided. The beach pass is a wonderful benefit, providing free parking at the beaches. The walk to Kalmas beach is manageable, if you odn't have too much stuff to carry. It is a magnificent beach. The owners are very responsive to any request or need that we have had, although those have been few. The house is very comfortable and can acommodate guests easily. If we vacation on the Cape again, this will be our "go to" rental house for sure. show more show less

My family and I have enjoyed our vacations at this lovely home and our looking forward to our stay again this summer. The home is well equipped with all the amenities..The walk to the beaches and hyannis harbor and main st. make it pleasurable for us all...The owners are easy to reach and very responsive to any needs..My 4 grand-daughters are so excited to be going the their CAPe Cod House again..that is how they refer to it!!! We had a wonderful week at this house. 6 adults and 3 kids; 8 year old, 6 year old and 2 year old fit very comfortably. The kids slept in the twin bed room and occasionally had a sleepover in the in-law apartment on the pullout couch for a movie night ;) The kayaks and bikes are a wonderful bonus but we didn't get a chance to use them. The backyard is perfect for grilling and lawn games. The location was great! We could walk to multiple beaches or use the beach pass to drive (and bring all the gear). show more show less

My family and I (6 adults/4 kids) stayed in this house for a week and found it was a pleasant experience. It is a new rental this summer and the owners and the agent were very responsive ( even when out of the country) and even same day shipped some items that we found were missing. The house was plenty big enough for all of us to feel comfortable, however 2 of the children were 2 and 4 so they did not require an actual bed/bedroom to themselves. If you have older children the house is more suitable for 8 or you can use the pull out queen sofa. The beds were very comfortable and the downstairs in law apartment was a nice extra space for a family with small kids or a grandma/grandpa to have a little quiet if needed.

The house was close to 3 beaches. Veterans Beach was an easy 5 min walk and perfect for kids as there were no waves or rocks to enter the water. Kalmus beach was a 10-15 minute walk as was Sea St Beach but you also get a beach parking pass for any of the town beaches so it was never a problem. Getting to Main street took less than 10 minutes driving and the ferries to Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket were like 1/2 mile away. The house also came equip with numerous beach chairs, an umbrella, bikes and kayaks which was a nice addition, as well an many movies and games.

Overall we had a wonderful week in Hyannis. As this is a new rental there were a few items in the kitchen and bathrooms that could be added for more convenience or updated but other than that we had no complaints and had a blast. Everyone left happy and would definitely return. show more show less
