The house is located on a street in Harwich Port that is known for the big Copper Beech tree in the front yard. Our family purchased the home in 1998 and started renovations. It was good to be home. For the past 25 years my
sons and I have enjoyed our home with its roomy kitchen, porch swing and day beds, lots of places to
find your quiet space to read or work and the big yard to play games and have an evening fire, as well as
taking advantage of all Harwich Port has to offer with friends and family.
The house is wonderfully situated in a neighborhood of families who have lived here for years, take pride in their homes and gardens, and readily offer up a friendly wave. The house is a short, 0.4 mile, walk to Merkel Beach past
beautiful Wychmere Harbor on Snow Inn Rd, and 0.5 miles to Bank St. Beach where there is parking. It is
a short walk into Harwich Port downtown, which boasts several wonderful restaurants, bars, and shops,
including many that feature local artists. The bike bath is a short bike or car ride to Harwich Center
recreation area, that also offers a great playground, pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts.
Harwich is central to numerous activities to make your stay fun, whether on the beach or lakes, mini-golfing and
go-carts, museums, and nature walks, attending the infamous Cape Cod baseball league games(free) or
taking the local Harwich Port ferry to Nantucket.
The house sleeps eight, having three separate bedrooms (two queens, two twins) and two XL twin beds on
the porch which can be put together to form a king. There are three full bathrooms, two upstairs and one downstairs. A large eat in kitchen with an adjoining additional dining table. There are two separate living room areas. The house has air conditioning as well as ceiling fans. An outside shower exists off the kitchen back door porch where the grill is located. There are additional porches that allow the whole crowd to eat outside meals, one small sunny porch, and one with rocking chairs to watch passersby.
The indoor porch that surrounds ¾ of the house is a special bonus and where my kids have spent hours
playing Legos on the rug or reading in the swing and a favorite spot for an afternoon snooze or enjoying
morning coffee or evening cocktails. The yard is a large flat area that allows ample safe space for
running around and for playing games.
We know you will have a comfortable, memorable, and enjoyable stay and create lasting wonderful
summer memories.
Amenities - All areas are air conditioned by individual mini splits. Washer and dryer behind the kitchen.
