Description

Description

This grand waterfront home has everything you need for a fantastic Cape Cod family vacation. The property features a vast private sandy beach and huge dock on Long Pond, Cape Cod's largest fresh water lake. This prime location is the IDEAL summer vacation spot, providing so many extraordinary options right in the privacy of your own home!

You will love the clear, sandy bottom lake for swimming, boating, fishing, and exploring. We provide kayaks, SUP, a peddle boat, canoe, and a sunfish sailboat so you can get out on the water and explore the natural beauty of Long Pond. The beach area is the perfect spot for children to play and the long dock is great for jumping off, fishing off, or simply laying back on to watch the boats pass by as you take in the warm sunshine and views. If you want to bring your boat, the dock provides plenty of room for tie up, or you can use our boat mooring anchored just beyond the swimming area.

The house is located in a beautiful, quiet, private, cul-de-sac neighborhood, perfect for kids to play safely in and around the yard. Also, the Cape Cod Rail Trail bike path is at the entrance to our neighborhood. The CCRT bikepath provides the opportunity to explore the scenic beauty of Cape Cod on bikes or by foot from Dennis all the way to Provincetown with great stops all along the way. Just a short walk, jog or bike ride from the house and you will pass other lakes, cranberry bogs, salt marshes, hiking trails, and a variety of unique shops for seafood, ice cream, penny candy or margaritas. If you don't want to travel with bikes, there are plenty of rental shops close by. Runners, walkers, bikers, and families with children will love this spectacular bike trail for daily exercise and adventure.

Our home has recently been completely renovated from top to bottom and is meticulously maintained. Features include hardwood & tile flooring, granite and stainless kitchen, new bathrooms, new open floorplan and bright, beachy colors from floor to ceiling in every room! The 5 bedrooms and 4 baths include new furnishings, beds, quilts, flat-panel TVs and A/C in every bedroom. The house has 3 floors of living space with plenty of room to accommodate your entire family and guests. The home provides a spacious feel, and you will have plenty of room to relax and spread out. Amenities include AC, dishwasher, washer/dryer, cable TV, Netflix, Internet workstation, 6 flat-panel televisions, Weber BBQ grill, game room, outdoor shower and more!

The amount of outdoor living space can not be beat! There are 3 large sun decks, each equipped with outdoor furniture for dining, lounging, and taking in the stunning panoramic views of not only Long Pond, but also the spectacular sunsets over Seymour Pond to the west! And the large private sandy beach area on the waterfront is spacious and perfect for relaxing in a beach chair while enjoying the breeze off the lake. Or get away from the all the excitement on land and take 1 of the boats out for a serene paddle around the Pond.

The lower level of the home has a game area with ping pong, foosball, and air hockey tables as well as a dart board. Their is also an additional sitting room/playroom with large flat screen television for kids to play video games or watch sports while the adults get some time to relax upstairs

The ocean beaches, restaurants, and shopping in Harwich Port are just a short drive away, as are the bayside beaches in Brewster and Dennis, well known to be the Cape's BEST beaches!

Cape Cod is a magical place and Long Pond is the best it has to offer. Boston magazine calls Long Pond one of New England's best lakes. You will see why when you come here. There is no place quite like it. Bring your boats, fishing poles bikes, and come make this gorgeous dream home your place to make family vacation memories this summer and many more to come!

    Happy place

Guest Review: Been coming to this house for years now and it never gets old. The solitude of having your own beach to the beautiful pond. Coffee in the morning on the deck looking out at the water. Evening dinners on the back patio with sunsets. Lots of room to spread out and not be on top of each other. Walk down to the Cape Cod Rail Trail for a ride or walk or jog. It is the definition of a quintessential Cape week vacation. The owners are also extremely responsive to any questions or concerns. show more show less

    Our New Favorite Cape House

Our extended family just returned from a 2-week stay at this lovely Cape house. Tom and Joy, the homeowners, were a pleasure to work with and provided timely communication in advance of our stay to ensure the booking and check-in process were smooth. They also reached out after our first week to ensure that we were enjoying our stay. Our family group average 9-10 people each day as some opted for either the first or second week while five of us, including our two grandkids (ages 9 and 7) stayed both weeks.

I'll start with the view as that's what captured us first. Hard to show on the website just how great a view this home has overlooking Long Pond, views not just from one deck but from two bedrooms and the living room. But it's not just the view of the pond, but the hours spent enjoying the kayaks, long boards, paddle boat and the sail boat, the latter after watching some you tube videos. While the grandkids never seemed to slow down, the adults could relax in the shade or "nap" in the hammock. We really enjoyed the large shallow, sandy pond area on either side of the dock. The fire pit down by the pond was a hit with several of the adults and an all too often Smores opportunity for all! And lest I forget, an awesome outdoor enclosed shower to enjoy.

To say the house was spacious is an understatement. More important, plenty to enjoy on a rainy day or each evening as the home is provided with an assortment of games and puzzles. The grandkids would invariably get in an hour or so each day enjoying the basement game room. Not just indoor games though, as outdoor games (horse shoes, corn hole, etc.) were stored in the garage. The garage also stored a large assortment of pond/beach equipment including chairs, noodles, boogie boards, etc. We even found a few fishing poles and a tackle box; however, never had time to try our luck at fishing.

The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to prep and cook as we saw fit. The uniqueness of the pantry was cool! We normally migrated to the deck just off the kitchen for dinner. Very convenient set-up with the grill. And great table for 8-10 with a lazy susan. The second fridge in the basement was a big plus!

The living room was are go to place most evenings to enjoy various TV games. So much comfy room!

My son-in-law loved running the rail trail every day as he prepared for October's Chicago Marathon. The grandkids also enjoyed trips along the trail to the general store (< 1 mile) for lunch and a treat.

When we did use our vehicles, it was normally to enjoy a nearby bayside beach for a low tide walk. The grandkids particularly enjoy Saints Landing beach as there are plenty of hermit crabs for them to gather (and release) as well as many islands that appear for which they have "conquered" and named. We also enjoyed grabbing lunch at Captain Frosty's and Sesuit Harbor, a few rounds of miniature golf, too many ice cream shops as well as the convenience of a grocery store within a 10-minutes drive.

Our extended family group has rented nine separate Cape homes over the past seven years. All but one have been located within walking distance and/or on the bay, the ocean, or a pond. Tom and Joy's home, with all that it offered with the pond, the spaciousness of the house and all the amenities associated with both, has become the new overall favorite of our family group!

    What a location!

This is a great place for a relaxing vacation. We rented this house with 2 other families—11 ppl in all. It fit us perfectly. The lake is crystal clear! The kids loved fishing off the dock, using the pedal boat and the paddle board. We brought bikes and were thrilled at how close the house is to the Rail Trail. We hope to be back!

    Great home and location

This Harwich home on Long pond was great. The home is in a really perfect location waterfront on Long pond and just up the hill from the cape cod rail trail. The house has plenty of outdoor spaces with multiple decks, a dock, and a sandy waterfront area. We made use of all the boats and everything else this home had to offer. The inside of the home is nicely appointed and has plenty of space.

Working with the owners was a easy and they were very responsive. We will definitely be back to rent again. show more show less

    Corona-Cation

This was our second year here and we came back for a reason. It's a great family getaway. And it was especially perfect for isolating this year, because of the beautiful private beach. We never had to leave. The location is ideal, right on Long Pond, and also steps from the Rail Trail, where we jogged and biked all week. We spent the week fishing off the dock (caught some serious small-mouth bass!), using the paddle boards, pedal boat and even the sail boat and kayaks. We played cornhole. The upstairs deck gets very warm during the day, but the chairs are comfy and it's a beautiful spot for evening cocktails. We used the grill a lot and enjoyed dinners on the back patio. We only wished we figured out a way to get on the pond and go tubing! show more show less

    Didn't Want to Leave

We've been coming to the Cape for decades, and this was absolutely one of our favorite rentals. In years past we might wrestle with what to do every day, but this year we spent more time swimming than any year because of the beautiful pond and beach right at this house. We never wanted to leave each day. We spent our lazy days playing great games of cornhole and using the paddle boards and kayaks and floaties and just swimming. We grilled at night and enjoyed sunset dinners on the big patio out back, and in the mornings drank our coffee looking out at the pond (jealous of the Jet Skiers!). We were a big group of ten, all ages, and this house worked beautifully for us, lots of bedrooms, plenty of living space for us to spread out. We left and already miss the pond. Oh, and the bonus—the Cape Cod Rail Trail is literally at the end of the street, a hundred yards away. Doesn't get better than that! show more show less

    Perfect Family Vacation

We have rented on the cape before but this place is our favorite! The private beach and dock along with the kayaks and paddle boards kept the kids happy all day and then s'mores on the beach at night let the good times roll. A very well equipped kitchen made meal time a snap, and we had plenty of room to spread out. We all loved the outdoor shower and bad weather days were no problem with plenty of board games and ping pong and air hockey competitions. Can't wait to get back next summer!

It’s a great house with so much to offer

We had such a great time in the house. The second floor is really spacious with a beautiful view of the lake. There are a lot of toys in the basement. I guess the owner have boys :) my boys really enjoyed all the toys. We can relax drink coffee on the porch, watching the view while the kids play inside with all the toys. There are four boats offered by the owner that we can use. There are a lot of life jacket and sand toys in the garage. Our big group spent a whole day just on the private beach. The only drawback is that the beds are a little small. There are 8 adults and 4 young kids in our group. So we have to figure out how to best arrange the beds for each family. Anyway, we managed it. Overall, I would definitely recommend the house to anyone who wants to have a relaxing vacation, and we will come back. show more show less

    Superb vacation

This house had absolutely everything you would want in a vacation home! We were a family of five, with kids ranging from ages 11 to 17. They were constantly kept busy with either fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and their favorite was the pedal boat! The location was perfect! We would definitely rent this house again!

    Wonderful vacation!

We stayed the 1st week in August--the weather was nearly perfect! We needed a home large enough for our family reunion, and this was perfect. Very spacious with enough room for all--we never felt over-crowded! The home was beautiful, fully updated, with everything we needed for the week. We spent every day down by the water, never even made it over to the public beaches (no need!). The water was beautiful--both kids & adults made full use of the various boats/paddleboards, and dock. Daily bike rides to the general store were easy as access to the bike path was just down the road. The location is great for easy access to other areas of the Cape--we took day trips to P-town. Would highly recommend to any party seeking a spacious rental for their summer getaway! show more show less

We fell in love with the beautiful lakes on Cape Cod years ago (2003) when we were newly married and vacationing in the area. Since that time, we have owned 3 waterfront rental properties in this area. This home, being our newest, is the dream home we always hoped for. It is a stunning place. We really love it here and think being on a lake, steps from the most scenic bike path, and 5 min to gorgeous ocean beaches, is pretty awesome. We have 2 young boys who think this area is little kid paradise. They love swimming, fishing, boating, crabbing, beach combing, biking for ice cream, and exploring all the fun just outside our front door. We have tried to equip our home for families like us. We know how fun it is to vacation with kids, but we also know that parents like to relax and kick back too. I think what makes our home unique is that you have everything you need right here. You will likely love the lake and the private beach so much that you will end up hang out here at the house way more than you thought.

What is special about this property?
The house has a great layout with an open floor plan and a ton of space for large families. You will have plenty of room to spread out and will never feel like you are on top of each other. The entire home has just been completely renovated from top to bottom, and the furnishings are all new. It is tastefully decorated with clean and modern nautical designs, and has a real beach house feel. The amount of outdoor hangout space the house offers is the best part. The home has 3 large decks all with comfy lounge chairs, and tables to set your drink on. There is also a huge sandy beach for kids to play, a giant dock for doing cannonballs off of, and the huge Lake -Long Pond- where you can paddle around by kayak, and explore. If by chance you get a rainy day, the house has a downstairs play room with ping pong, air hockey, foosball, darts, wii games, and plenty of indoor fun to keep you entertained.

What is special about your town?
The home is located in Harwich, waterfront on Cape Cod's largest lake, and steps from the bike path. In addition we are walking distance to Seymour Pond and Hinkley Pond two other great lakes that wrap around the bike trail in this unique section of North Harwich. If you like the bay side beaches we are a short drive to Brewster and Dennis where the beaches are phenomenal at low tide. The ocean beaches in Harwichport are also just a 5 min drive. There are tons of great restaurants close by, as well as mini golf, ice cream, and all sorts of fun vacation spots to visit. Bring your bikes and sneakers so you can explore the bike path. A short ride down the path in either direction will bring you past beautiful cranberry bogs, and lots of fun stop offs for penny candy, or snacks. If you have a boat or 2 boats feel free to bring them also. we have a mooring, and a dock for tie up, and you will love boating, water skiing, or tubing around Long Pond. It is a boater's paradise.
