I grew up spending summers in the Megansett with my family for over 50 years until buying my own house in New Silver Beach. As a child, I loved sailing, basking in the warm water, searching for quahogs, attending camp at Animal Rescue League, riding my bike to the Tea Room, jumping off the high tower at MYC, and soaking in the best sunsets at the Cape from my porch. My husband and I have shared this magical place with our children who also appreciate its charm.
After studying and traveling throughout Asia, I got married, moved to Europe, and later started a family who kept me busy with sports and activities. Having enjoyed volunteering in their classrooms, I became a teacher after earning my M. Ed. My passions include teaching, music, collecting sea treasures, visiting National Parks, and enjoying family time especially at the Cape.
What is special about this property?
As soon as I arrive at our Cape home, I immediately feel relaxed. Nestled in a peaceful setting, our comfortable two-story home boasts a beautiful fenced in yard, two patios, an incredible outdoor shower, and plenty of parking. I love listening to the birds and watching the oak tree leaves rustle due to a reliable southwesterly breeze. Facing the southwest, our house and patios are bright and cheerful, and sunset can be seen from our home just over trees, or over the ocean just a short stroll away at our private association beach.
Our clean and updated home has everything you need including central AC. The bedrooms are spacious with comfortable mattresses, great breezes, lots of closet space, fans in every room, and two additional Smart TVs. We have a bathroom on each floor, a large laundry room off the master for a portable crib or blow-up mattress, and an open floor plan. In the well-equipped kitchen, we have seating for up to 10 people, and in the large family room, you'll find two Ethan Allen couches, a recliner, as well as 3 additional chairs. We also have a large dry basement for beach chairs, bikes, games etc. What I enjoy most is how the beach is nearby, but how you can escape to a more private and quiet location and enjoy quality time with family.
What is special about your town?
Location, location, location! We're ideally situated close to three awesome beaches with our private association NSB (with life guards and community activities such as Sunday Movie Nights etc.) just a half mile away. Megansett Beach, Old Silver Beach, the Shining Sea Bike Path, Silver Lounge, Epic Oyster, Bucatinos restaurants, and quaint village shops are all within 1.8 miles. Also close-by, you'll find miniature golf, ice cream, general stores, Cataumet Fish, and additional restaurants including the Chartroom!
If you don't wish to take the bike path right from our home (side walk accessible), our house is just a 14 minute drive to Falmouth and 20 minute drive to Woods Hole where you can catch a 40 minute ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard. Downtown Falmouth, you'll find a plethora of quaint shops, museums, and amazing restaurants on Main Street as well as 4 miles down the road in Woods Hole.
Another huge advantage to the upper Cape is the location. We're only 14 miles to the Bourne Bridge and 21 miles to the Sagamore Bridge so you can avoid spending that extra hour or so in traffic on 6A and enjoy the beach. Boston is just 66 miles away, and public transportation is available. Lastly, this part of the Cape is known for its fiery sun sets over the ocean.
